Game delays are an unfortunate reality of the modern industry. Whether it's engine changes, code hangups, or something else, there are a multitude of reasons why a game might not hit its release date. Despite the disappointment that come along side a delay, there's also a silver lining: those delayed games make the next year even better. So it is with these eight games - they're poised to help make an awesome 2016.

Homefront: The Revolution

Homefront: The Revolution has had a checkered history since it was announced in 2011. A THQ bankruptcy was followed by troubles at new developer Crytek, and the game finally landed at newly formed developer Deep Silver Dambuster, which was made up of the remnants of the now-closed Crytek UK. The game drops players in Philadelphia four years after the Greater Korean Republic invaded the US, and tasks them with leading a brewing rebellion. Originally planned for a 2015 release, Deep Silver delayed the game into 2016 in March of this year.
