Go up against the toughest challenge in Five Nights at Freddy's 4 on Night 8 to earn four stars. It takes a cool head and a certain password to make available, so check out the full explanation below for all the details.

You can't keep bad animatronic monsters down. The mascots return, and things have changed a lot since its first terrifying incarnation. This time there's a room to protect; two hallways, a closet, and a bed. All you've got is a flashlight to scare the creeps away -- no more metal doors or security cameras to check on here. If you can manage to survive seven nights, there's still one more challenge to complete. Night 8 is hidden for a reason and it's no joke.

Dig into more Fazbear lore with our Five Nights at Freddy's 3 Easter Eggs Guide to see what's hidden in the previous entry to this pants-wetting series.

Night 8 Unlock Guide

To unlock Night 8, the hardest difficulty night available, go to the Extras menu and type in this code:

  • 20202020

There is no entry window, just type the numbers while in the Extras menu. A new challenge will appear called 20/20/20/20 -- that means all Animatronics are set to their highest difficulty level.

To unlock 20/20/20/20 mode, you must complete Night 7 "Nightmare Mode" from the Extras menu. To get Night 7, first complete Night 6, which is available after completing Night 5 (the final 'main' night in FNaF4). Night 6 is an additional night added onto the main story, while the Night 7 challenge is only accessible through the Extras menu.

20/20/20/20 Mode is identical in most respects to Nightmare Mode. Night 7 includes a new Animatronic character, Nightmare, who replaces Nightmare Freddy. Night 8, or 20/20/20/20 Mode, is the first Night 8 in the FNaF series, although the mode itself is based on the Custom Night challenges from earlier titles. If you've got what it takes, you too can earn that fourth star and truly complete this terrifying jump-scare adventure.
