Folks from LoadingReadyRun are revving up the engines for their third annual Desert Bus for Hope charity event, a fundraiser in which all proceeds go to the Child's Play organization - and they keep driving in Desert Bus for as long as donations come in. About Child's Play
Child's Play is based in Seattle and was created in 2003 by web comic gurus Jerry Holkins and Mike Krahulik of Penny Arcade to become a game industry charity dedicated to improving the lives of children with toys and games in children's hospitals worldwide. Many of the gifts donated by gamers are age appropriate videogames and gaming systems - but they are by no means the only things donated. Child's Play has received eager donations of coloring books, art supplies, crafts, movies, cartoons, virtually anything a young person could ask for. Due to the generosity of the world-wide community of gamers, Child's Play has had to move to larger storage facilities three separate times.

The 2008 drive raised over 1.4 million dollars in toys and cash for 60 children's hospitals around the US and the world, putting the community's total contribution level since our inception at the five million dollar mark.
