Land of the free... Australia.

Correct me if i happened to be doosing during history lessons, but wasent Australia a prison for British criminals? ^^

Yeap. If you were caught stealing bread you were sent off to Australia. But eventually we began to colinise it, while still keeping the criminals locked away to build roads and such. plus we shot and raped nearly every Aboriginal person we saw. Our leader is only just about to say 'Sorry' to them soon. Ah, bless this sunburnt country.

I hate to disagree, but Australia was colonised as a new world AND as a handy spot to put people instead of England's overcrowded gaols. Not just a handy place to exile people. Actually, pretty much the same as America.

Okay, that's enough disscussion about nationality superiority and history. I didn't ask your countries life story, I asked where are you from. I don't want a big picture in this post of Uncle Sam saying "I'm Better than YOU!"

Since it was not mentioned until the fourth page, I think that it is about as much discrimination as forgetting about introducing one person out of a hundred and some when he comes in a half-hour after something has started (note that I didn't say late, since anything is likely to have started a half-hour or more late except a military function).

Damn I could have sworn I posted in here but now I can't find it.

Ohwell I'm from AUS. Its suprising how many Aussies are on this website. I'va allways had a belief that Aussie Gamers are more mature then American gamers and I think this kind off proves it.

It's not hard to be more mature than American gamers. A five year old is more mature than American gamers.

Yet another American here, lurking in the woods near the Canada-Vermont border.

Not sure if I should call Vermont a separate country or not...we were for a while, and it sometimes seems like we still are.

How so? Everytime I have to go through Vermont it seems boring as a horse's butt. And I used to live in Maine, so I know boring.

I'd make a few suggestions, but frankly, I don't need the federal police breathing down my neck.
Notch up another Aussie.

I'm from America. California, Central Coast area. Almost never drops below 60 degrees in the winter during the day, hardly ever goes above 80 degrees in the summer.

Coastal Cali'forn'I'A? Dude, you're living where I plan to move some day. Get rid of GW Shrub, and prove that Americans have learned their lesson by voting in someone who doesn't suck, and I'd seriously consider moving to San Jose...

Edit: And Don't vote out the Gova'nator... I find him entertaining.

With our outdated "Electoral College" voting system, a majority vote for the potential "best" candidate would not necessarily win - In fact, I'm sure there was at least one president in the past who did not win the popular vote to become president, and i think it was between Bush and Gore in 2000 (NOT saying that Ore would have been better, I wouldn't go there).

Bush - 50,460,110 v. Gore - 51,003,926 (these are the numbers on wikipedia, anyway, for what it's worth.)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_presidential_election,_2000

Yeah, when our system of electing the president was created the creators didn't think the common man was smart enough to choose a good leader (they were right). So, they made the electoral college so educated individuals would make the call and not the will of the people. This worked back then because the common man was too dumb and uninformed to realize this was happening. Right now our people are slightly more informed so they're at the point where they know enough to complain when their government doesn't represent them, but still not smart enough to make good decisions. I suppose this is a step up, though. Maybe sometime in the distant future the people of the U.S. will be educated enough to elect competent leaders.

I'm American...
And I've never even traveled anywhere to try and claim otherwise, lol
And to top it off, I'm from Ohio. They send newscasters here to learn the blandest accent possible. Boooorrring. The biggest distinguishing speech pattern of mine is that I say "crick" instead of "creek," driving my ex nuts, lol.

I'm from the US, but since I'm from Minnesota (Northern-most state in the US, for those of you who don't care about America) me and my friends like to pretend we're Canadian since we kinda sound like them.

Ireland is not part of the 'British Isles' So I'm not sure how to vote.

Yes, it is. It would be the other isle.

EDIT: It isn't part of the United Kingdom, but that's a different entity.

I'm English by the way.

I'm born and raised in the USA, more specifically Central California (the San Mateo area). My ancestors came from what is now the United Kingdom (Ireland, Scotland) and Western Europe (Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, those kind of places) though. I've still got cousins over there, though I've never met any of them.

Edit: How exactly is one a mature gamer? I, for example, buy and play the games that I want to play, don't bash other people's choices, bought a system that I wanted to own (a PS3), and generally try to keep my opinions as opinions rather than forcing other people to agree with me. Which is partially why I've never understood this bloody console war.

PS: And yes, I'm an American and I like to use UK cuss words. So sue me, I fell in love with Monty Python six years ago and never looked back, there's only so many times you can watch every bloody episode before you start absorbing things, and I've crossed that particular line a long time ago.

Now look at Elle Macpherson, Kylie, and the only meter-maids anyone in the world is happy to see.

Also, not to be pedantic, but we woulda had apologies over a decade ago if things had gone right. We also would have signed the Kyoto Protocol over a decade ago. Well, at least we got them now.

hickwarrior: No Nederland is most certainly in Western Europe.
Scandinavian/Baltic is usually what people would call Northern Europe. (Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and sort of Iceland if you remember them).

How should I vote on this one?
I am a Swedish national, Living in the UK but who mostly plays with Australians, Flemmish and Dutch....
