Pulitzer Laureate Posts: 873 Joined: 29 Dec 2007 | try this: Basically it's a galactic, feudal empire in which there are massive witch-hunts, a machine cult, aliens that are just a hair off original, and a trillion-strong army called the Imperial Guard. Oh, and there's genetically augmented Space Marines and such. |

Pulitzer Laureate Posts: 873 Joined: 29 Dec 2007 | Yeah, just pick your class from anything in the WH40K universe, just so long as it's human I should be able to tie it into the story line. Also, I've got the rules outlined up top. It's more like a story-telling RPG, nothing like stat bonuses and items or all that jazz. |

Purge the damned! When I made the character Bio's, I made it so that each character had some reason for murder. |

Press Junketeer Posts: 372 Joined: 8 Jan 2008 | I know junk about the real game, used to play it. Got nothing better to do, and no life, I'm in. Wait, is this the imperial guard or the Space marines? If imperial guard, I'll be...as a character, I'd like to be a sniper accompanying this ship for guard detail once we land. If not, then I'd like to be a hardened vet. If that's not allowed either, I'd like to be a sanctioned psyker. EDIT: Well I just read a post of your, Galt, stating that the requirements be human and reasonable, so I'm definetly going with a Death Korps of Krieg sniper. You know about them enough right? I'll fill you in if you don't. |

Gone Gonzo Posts: 2210 Joined: 2 Dec 2007 |
That would be the Adeptus Mechanicus staff. They're like half robot and get turned on over engines and machinery.
Commissar? I wouldn't trust you as one. You'll probably shoot most of the guys because they stole your 'cool' or stepped on your toe or something. No wait, that would be me. |

Paperboy Posts: 43 Joined: 12 Nov 2007 | Can I still play? I'm a homely female privateer. I've been marooned on the ship after something happened to my own vessel. I seem quite anxious to be off and on my way. I bear the name Ophelia, though I respond to it slowly enough that it may not be my own. I speak far too well to be regular pirate, and I'm not attractive enough to be a runaway concubine. I've a straight fringe you swear you've seen somewhere before, and a plasteel breastplate of forge world design. A short scabbard hangs from my womanly hips, the ornate handle protruding thus has the over-sized look of a powered blade, but I've never drawn the weapon to identify its true nature. On my other hip rests a small egged device, whose function you can only begin to guess at. In any case it looks far too expensive for a "privateer" to be wearing, especially a woman. Still, the steward said my papers appear to be in order, and the captain has given me a cabin befitting an honoured guest. You've more pressing concerns now anyway, than being suspicious about some off-world tramp. Yet for all your resolve, it's my expressionless face you see when you close your eyes at night. A man gets mighty lonely out here in the dark... |

Press Junketeer Posts: 369 Joined: 29 Jan 2008 | ooooh, if there's inquisition involved, can I be a Daemonhost? So many Linda Blair quotes waiting to happen. failing that, I'd probably go with inquisitorial stormtrooper, crusader, or Adeptus Arbites Arbirator |

Pulitzer Laureate Posts: 836 Joined: 16 Jan 2008 | Can I be one of Gaunt's Ghosts? Quite how it could work I'm not sure, but a slightly unhinged example of Gaunt's finest with a camo-cloak and a lasgun would suit me just fine. If not, Imperial guard sentinel pilot. |

Pulitzer Laureate Posts: 873 Joined: 29 Dec 2007 | Sorry, but I don't know how I'd work the marines in on this one, them being super-human and all, not best suited for diplomacy, so I'll just give you the Guard equivilant unless you want something else. Also, signup period will end around 8pm EST so if you're just reading this and haven't signed up, get to postin'. Oh yeah, and due to the diversity of the Guard group, I'm gonna give it a Last Chancer's Theme. |

Diplomacy? You do realise there are Inquisitors in this game yes? Inquisitor Diplomacy: Mind you, I spose Space marines would be kinda character-less. Every other sentence being "For the emperor!" Sorry, I'll stop being silly now. |

That depends on the characters. I myself will probably play a more Radical type with shaky ethics, loose women, and fast cars. Also, Jakeb Smith, I'm just gonna go ahead and make you the captain of the ship, seeing as how we don't have any other volunteers. |

| 35) | |
Pulitzer Laureate Posts: 873 Joined: 29 Dec 2007 | Well, I'm gonna post the complete backstory in a little bit, but essentially it's an Imperial ship sailing travelling through the warp en route to eliminate a rebellious governor. |

Alright, so with PR's blessing, I've decided to direct the next lynching/detective style RPG. Essentially, expect more of the same from the last one but in a new locale with new people and maybe an arbitrary plot twist somewhere along the line.
Now, the rules will remain the same as last time untill I decide that I can play God and totally shift things so my nefarious scemes come to fruition or something evil sounding like that. The killer will still be picked by a dice roll as well as the victim. The only choice we will make is who we want to vent our pent up frustration at as the supposed killer. Expect it to follow something like this:
1) The mood is set and people get their characters. Feel free to mingle around and add your own twist on the story. So long as it doesn't completly circumvent the rules and result in you becoming the Emperor or something, then feel free to do it. Stay in character and it stays fun. just specify when you need to say something out of character.
2) Somewhere along the lines(about a day or so into the game) I'll use my magic dice to decide who dies first. I'll alert the killer by PM and then leave subtle clues about their identity in the narratives. Don't rule out anyone, just because I was the fiend last time doesn't mean I'm not doing this just for my own enjoyment.
3) Using the brilliant logic of a mob, we will decide on who gets lynched. You get it right, I end the game with a nice finale and then we move on. You get it wrong, more people feel the cold, icy hand of my dice coming up with their number.
This hopefully will continue until there is an epic showdown at the end in which the killer and the last couple of survivors battle it out. But this all depends on how you vote.
Alright, the classes are as follows:
Adeptus Mechanicus staff (typical cybernetic scientists and engineers.)
Inquisitorial emissary (Me, PR and Possum got the roles as the lead Inquisitors, first-come-first-serve is a cruel mistress, but additional staff like psykers and whatnot are fairgame.)
Original Crew Member (please specify what kind you want to be[not navigator of course])
Port Maw Guardsmen (again, anything reasonable I can work into the story).
Current Players:
Me (Inquisitor)
Easykill
Possum-Man (Inquisitor)
Purple Rain (Ingquisitor)
Irishdelinquent (Daemonhost)
The Sorrow (Ship's gunner)
[HD] Rob Inglis (Requisitioned Sniper)
Larenxis (Tech-priest)
The Reverend (Kasrkin Officer)
Zen5887 (Commissar[I'll tie in the Catachan part later])
Pie (Guard Weapons Spec.)
Jakeb Smith (Crew member of the piratesque type)
Saskwach (Inquisitorial acolyte)
Blackadvent (Enginseer/Tech-priest)
Kikosemmek (Guard CC spec.)
Singing Gremlin (Sentinel Pilot)
Wolvaroo (Ogryn)
Ugainius (Vindicare)
