So yeah, I guess you can say I suck, but even if I had the BFG equipped it still wouldn't make a difference against corner campers and relentless snipers. |
Paperboy Posts: 41 Joined: 27 Dec 2007 | they look cool and everything, and the total destruction you can cause in the tv studio building fills me with glee! but yeah i do feel really outclassed by everybody on there, i seem to get sniped no matter where i am, and people seem to have the reflexes of a crackhead on amphetamines. the double xp is nice though |
Anonymous Source Posts: 3 Joined: 21 Mar 2008 | I find that the new maps, although fun, is lacking for something thats 800 points! Accentually, the entire pack is 3 maps and a FFA map. Im happy that the Chinatown is a remake of the Call of Duty 2 map Carentan. But what makes me mad is that its a remake of the Call of Duty 2 map Carentan (a love/hate relationship). Its nice to see it back but basically they copied all the files from COD2 added a couple of asain_sign.exe in the folder and called it a map! Its fun but I've played it before! So now its 2 "new" maps, a FFA map, and a remake. As for Broadcast and Creek, they are good maps. Creek is sniper heaven and Broadcast is great for close-quarters/shotty kinda people. Killhouse is what it is, a small map great for FFA and thats about it. So basically your paying for 2 "new" maps, a FFA and a remake. 800 is too much for that, but if you happen to have some points laying around or if your in love with the multiplayer by all means buy them now. For everyone else wait ti'll their free or go down in price (if that'll ever happen). |

Paperboy Posts: 20 Joined: 3 Apr 2008 | I downloaded them and they are fun. The only problem is that I have been playing RSV2 and everytime I go to zoom in (which is essential because blind firing sucks) I knife the air which I just learned it takes a hell of a long time to recover. |

Really? I like Chinatown, but I have to say that I like Creek more. |

Gone Gonzo Posts: 2600 Joined: 21 Jan 2008 | Well, don't play online, so I voted 'Don't care'. But, from what I've heard, seems I'd 'Creek', what with it being a sniper heaven and all. - A procrastinator |

Paperboy Posts: 21 Joined: 12 Dec 2007 | I voted that the maps are OK. I like the maps, but I think that for 800 MS Points, they should have included a little more. Maybe even a few more maps, especially as one of the maps is ripped/edited from the single-player campaign. I also think it would have been cool if Infinity Ward did an update which adds a new game mode (like a conventional capture the flag to partner domination), and perhaps some new guns and classes, but that's just my opinion. Creek is a fun map for sniping. It looks nice and has a lot of cool spots to execute the sniping from (the grass area in front of the house at the far end of the map, e.g.). Its possible to snipe and be sniped from pretty much any area of the map, caves notwithstanding. Speaking of which, said caves do get rather overpopulated during helicopter attacks. Killhouse is borrowed from "F.N.G" from CoD Singleplayer, and is incredibly irritating. I'm just not into tiny maps, and therefore treat this with the same contempt I have always had for Shipment. I always thought Shipment should have been a team tactical (3v3) only map, as opposed to also appearing in the 6v6 games, and it seems I/W latched onto my train of logic by doing this with Killhouse. I guess they deserve credit for not making the "Shipment Mistake" again, but I still don't like the map. I like Broadcast but it seems a lot of people I play with can't stand it. The little box above the main television room is a great place to lurk about and get a few kills, and the indoor environments are generally nice on this map. Whenever I go outside onto the roof I normally tend to stay alive for all of 10 seconds, so I now generally wait about on the stairs and run through the lobby like a madman. Chinatown is average, in my opinion. I liked it at first when I was playing on my own, but then as I was trying to communicate to mates in Team Tactical matches, I found it very hard to explain which building I was in because they all look exactly the same from the outside. I tend to use the "Chinese Laundry" and the "Porn DVD Shop" on this level quite a lot. When playing "Domination" on this map, always go for A and B, capture those, then camp your team in the building between the two, and you will be guaranteed to win - Im not sure if thats a good thing or not yet. On another note, is it just co-incidence, or are the developers putting the new maps in circulation more than some of the old ones to convince more people to buy them? |
Paperboy Posts: 37 Joined: 16 Jan 2008 | Where is the "I don't like them" option? Personally I do like them, Killhouse can **** off and die but the rest are pretty good. |
Muckraker Posts: 291 Joined: 13 Jan 2008 | Creek is excellent. Sniper Heaven but not so much that I don't get knifed in the back by a sneaky enemy who's used the map well. |
Brand Manager Posts: 678 Joined: 8 Oct 2007 | I actually like most of the boards except for the Creek (I'm pretty sure that is what it is called). Doesn't seem to matter where I am, I get sniped as soon as I spawn. |

After finally downloading the map pack, I played CoD4 for an hour and an half. I have to say, I'm pretty satisfied with my money spent (so far).
However, I was wondering how other CoD4 fans were faring. Are you planning on getting the maps? Did you manage to get the maps yet? What do you think about them?
EDIT: After posting this, I realized I have it posted under 'Off-topic Discussion.' Sorry about the mistake.
