Hmmm, is the Death Star under miscellaneous or large firearms? lulz I'm pretty sure it's under Miscellaneous. Death Star Pwns. No wait, I pick Death Star with Galaxy Gun accompanied by a fleet of World Devastators. Beat that.

ma primary weapon would be something along the line of a minigun, preferably with a halfway decent amount of ammo, so you can reload more then once. Secondary I'd take a knife, just to look what color my enemies are on the inside.

The Punisher once fought a creature called Mung The Inconceivable using a shotgun with a chainsaw tied to it. So... one of those.

The telekinetically charged corpses of their fallen allies is a personal favourite too.

Best sword: A cross between a lightsaber and the Blades of Chaos (God of War)
Best gun: any atomatic gun big enough to have a chainsaw attachment (Gears of War)
Miscellaneous: gravity gun that makes portals (I heart Valve)
Best Explosive: Infinite Rocket Launcher!

I'd really have to go with Katars. If someone can tell me what they are, they geet a cookie. (I'm sure most of you do but hey.....). Uh, other than that I'd have to say you cant go wrong with a set of claws you can strap on.

This is a tough one. I actually have to explain my selection.

The least cool is firearms. Small firearms are the worst IMO. They've been ruined by too many whiggers trying to act cool. Shotguns (aka the boomstick) are awesome, but they don't really say "cool". It's hard to be cool killing someone at range.

Miscellaneous weapons (aka improvised weapons) are decent, but they're not cool. It's the kind of thing you'd see someone wielding in a back alley fight. However, they are really cool when it wouldn't typically be used as a weapon (i.e tables, a wet towel, or a cantaloupe).

Swords and knifes fall in the same category for me. They're a lot of flash IMO. There are some cool ones (the cleavers that the Uruk-Hai used in LotR, Tessaiga (from InuYasha), and the runefangs of Warhammer) but otherwise they're just too common to be cool.

Polearms are meh. I've always liked using a bo staff, and adding a blade on the end makes it only better. However, they aren't used enough.

I love flexible weapons. The flail is fun to use, as is the staff which is divided twice by chains (I believe it's called the quarterstaff, but I could be wrong). However, they're not the coolest.

I've got to give it to unarmed combat. All you need to do is watch Bruce Lee. When he settles into his stance, and prepares to beat his opponent into a new shape, it sends shivers up my spine. Also, I'm an MMA enthusiast and a black belt, so I'm somewhat biased.

Close. It's called a three-section staff.
I love giant firearms, though. They take the cake for me.

All these weapons are pretty cool, but my favorites are: throwing axes, morning stars, cleavers, lightsabers, RPGs, giant hooks, and, of course, gardening mauls(for those of you that don't know what gardening mauls are, they have an axe blade on 1 side of the head, and a sledgehammer on the other).

Hmmmmmm, well how about wielding a police nightstick in each hand. Useful as they have a section for clubbing (the shaft) and a nice pommel on the end for mashing! Lol. Would that fit in the "polearms" category?

Other than that, any of the weapons used by Patrick Bateman in American Psycho, dropping a chainsaw down a stairwell anyone?

A guy can look just as cool carrying a huge sword as he does carrying a revolver. Or, at least I think so. I'd have to vote for swords, though, just because I think they're cooler.

Apologies to anyone who likes guns more. Insert sad face. Bitch.

Miscellaneous: Sonic Screwdrivers, The Red Right Hand of Doom, TV transmitters turned into Delta Waves, carrots, chainsaws, a payphone. Basicly anything unconventional wielded by Ron Perlman, Clive Owen or Bruce Campbell.

Not swords. Swords are for posers and lame boss fights.

I vote knife, but only if they're throwing knives. So much more satisfying to lodge one of those in the opponent's neck than simply shoot or stab them.

I'm going for Misc, just because its the easiest to relate to (In some situations). The Gravity Gun, maybe not, but whipping a pipe of a wall and running around crap scared by insane druggies is ridiculously fun.

I'm liking the good ol' Crowbar too.

Gonna have to go with polearm on this one. Always nice to be able to easily keep someone in range in a melee fight. And if they get too close, just smack 'em in the jaw with the blunt end of the weapon.

For once though, I'd like to see a character use a scythe without being some dude that represents death/darkness.

I can't take katars seriously after Voldo.

I think I remember some dude in Rorouni Kenshin using one, but he was an exhibitionist crossdresser who had a very small role, so...

I've already voted, but I'll give my two cents on bladed weapons.
Scythes are unwieldy, but the intimidation factor is huge. Plus, they're freaking awesome. Just check out what Ryu Hayabusa can do with one.
I personally love Tonfas, expecially bladed ones.
For me, big=awesome, most of the time. Especially Claymores.

Not to rain on anyone's parade or anything, but does the portal gun even count as a weapon? I mean, by definition a weapon needs to be able to do harm and the unless you throw it at someone the thing itself really doesn't do any harm. The only way it does damage is by throwing back other attacks and if we we use that criteria a brick wall that causes a bullet to ricochet back to it's firer is a weapon.

As for scythes, Zhasalamel from Soul Caliber 3 solidified their awesomeness in my eyes.

I've been a big fan of tonfa recently, but my all-time favourite/coolest looking weapon has to be the Viggorian Flail fron Ninja Gaiden on the XBox.

Long story short, Melee weapons > Ranged weapons IMO. Not a big difference for me, but, after playing games like Warhammer 40k and ME2: TW, GeOW chainsaw (which is kinda ripped from DoW but, whatever), Dead Rising, hack and slash like GoW (although, DMC makes guns really cool when you are a "gunslinger")...I just like Melee weapons more man...I just voted sword.

Death star has a tiny little hole in it, someone shoots it, and the whole thing explodes....Death Star sucks..

Wein cruz of the Growlanser 2 fame.

Nothing's more badass then beating someone to death with heavy machinery.

Swords in general are my favourite, although it usually depends on what game I'm playing.

If I was in command of the Death Star, I'd have hundreds of Tartan Patrol Cruisers all along that trench along with at least 2 Star Destroyers. Death Star pwns if properly managed.

Well since most people here already said my top picks I would have to go for the Rusian World War two monoplane fighter the LAGG-3.
Say what you want about swords'n'guns, but it's pretty cool to fly from 1000 m down on you. Give you a nice burst, then fly off before you can-if there anything left of you- shoot back. Besides the russian pilots gave it the coolest nickname :
LAkirovanni Garantirovanni Grob-3
or
Guaranteed Varnished Grave :)

Nice choice ,but you should try the Lagg-3 IT -istrebitel tankov -tank destroyer- I like to pop the occasional -b-17 and the like with it :)
Nothing sweeter than flying straight at one 1000 m below then ,at the last moment pulling the stick back and firing at the unprotected nose :D

But we should do this in another thread -sry guys
