who is your favourite film/game/book bad ass you have to give a good reason though.

i will put forward my two.

1) denzel washington in man on fire.
he take like five bullets to the chest (and then some more later on) and can still tourture and murder his way across a mexican city
the ulimate bad ass in my opinion.

2)agent 47 from hitman.
do i really need a reason? one look at his bald head and i would be craping my self wouldent you be?

Tough choice. I'd say probably Bruce Willis as John McLane in the Die Hard series or in The Last Boy Scout, but that would be cliche... So I'll say... Clint Eastwood in the western The Outlaw Josey Wales!

Kenshiro from Fist of the North Star. The guy makes people explode with a touch. Heck, nearly all the villains who against him are the underdogs.

Richard Rahl, from "The Sword of Truth" series. Most kick-ass hero ever. War-Wizard. Lord Rahl. Husband of the Mother Confessor (A feat only done once before). Seeker of Truth and Wielder of the Sword of Truth. Yeah. Awesome.

Vimes from Terry Pratchett's Discworld was awesome. Night Watch was his best performance. I suggest you all read it.

You, my friend, have excellent taste in literature.
Also, Mal from Firefly and Serenity.

3) Batman
4) Hiro Protagonist
5) The Swearing Friend
6) "Dirty" Harry Callahan
7) Max Payne

The list goes on...

EDIT: Fuck! How could I forget, Solid Snake, Dingo Egret (just because he piloted Jehuty), and Cthulhu.

Also a fan. I'd add Rand al'Thor.

Gandolf (LOTR)
Gambit (X-Men Comics)
Ash (Evil Dead)
John McClane (Die Hard)
Spike (BTVS)
Han Solo (Star Wars)
Spock (Star Trek)
Jean-Luc Picard (Star Trek: NG)

There are 10 of my choices

CLOSE! I have to say Percival Edmund Chang, or if you actually read the comic, "Grunge" beats Deadpool. Not the new Gen13, it's only moderately funny. Original one rocked.

Steve McQueen from... ah, well just Steve McQueen on his own.

The Vault Dweller would be another. He crppled the Mutant army much like thorn in the lions paw.

The Doctor is a perfectly legitimate choice. Right up there alongside Solid Snake.

James Bond - Casino Royale, and others
Not as bad ass as William Stevenson, but it is fiction.

Indiana Jones - Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
He's pretty great in the first one too I guess.

Smith - Shoot 'Em Up
I can't begin to describe...

John McClane - Die Hard, Live Free Or Die Hard
I haven't seen the middle ones recently enough to judge.

Ash - Army of Darkness
Shop smart, shop S Mart.

Sgt. Nicholas Angel - Hot Fuzz
Not so great with the ladies, but pretty good with a shotgun.

Llewelyn Moss - No Country For Old Men
So many injuries!

Rick Deckard - Blade Runner
When he takes a sip and blood goes into the glass, it's a shot I'll never forget.

Goliath - Gargoyles
Best show Disney's made, I'd say.

Lord Darlington - Lady Windermere's Fan
What? I like Oscar Wilde...

Gregory House - House MD
Sure he can't physically kick ass, but words can hurt too.

Philip Marlowe - The Big Sleep
I understand some of what he's saying, and it's pretty great.

Sherlock Holmes - The Casebook of Sherlock Holmes
Jeremy Brett should've played James Bond when he was younger.

John Crichton - Farscape
Even when his duplicate died, he was still doubly awesome.

I should probably stop now...

Darth Sideous
He takes over the galaxy in the name of the Sith after thousands of years of Jedi Rule. He corrupts almost all the senate and gains power through political means. Now sure, taking over the world/galaxy/universe with brute force is pretty impressive, but taking over with politics without anyone noticing is just plain awesome. Sideous is a genius and he'd have won if it hadn't been scripted (damn George Lucas' "good triumphs over evil" mindset) Good doesn't always win, the smartest and most powerful wins. And Sideous had pretty much everything going for him (except George Lucas)

lulz

I dunno, Tom Baker kicked arse quite a bit. He and Peter Davison were the first ones that actually looked like they could.

He's the Kingslayer, I'd give better reasons but it'd ruin the book, READ IT !
