As for turning around I didn't because this thread forewarned me. However, I was seriously tempted. I'm the kind of paranoid person who thinks (or hopes?) fantastical things are going on just outside my view. When I was younger I even doubled back into my room to see if I could catch my toys having fun with Woody and Buzz.
