Beat Writer Posts: 126 Joined: 21 Dec 2007 | If he didn't confirm, I don't think the movie would work. Would have drawn mountains of criticism from movie buffs etc. Not to mention all the fans. I hope they also use the same actor to play Bilbo. His performance in The Fellowship is scene stealing. |

yeah Sir Ian had already said "i want to play gandalf again" it would have been dumb not to select him as he's already familiar with the roll as for Sir Ian playing bilbo again, he might be a bit too old, cause in the hobbit he's middle aged, around 50 or so. |

Ah, but the whole point is that he doesn't age with the Ring. He's meant to look exactly the same in the Fellowship as he does in the Hobbit (remember when Gandalf says "You haven't aged a day). And besides, they can do wonders with make up these days. |
