I am too young to have a card, and after playing the audiosurf demo, I was hooked. My parents don't trust buying only from another country (I'm in england), and I am desperate to get this game, 4 songs demo isn't enough, and steam is the only known place to get it. Is there another way to steam, because it also works out cheaper off steam for me.

I don't think so, I'm afraid - to be honest, I don't see your parents problem - any online order goes through the vast, partly secured internet regardless. And Valve is a well know company with physical world available games (i.e. games on DVD/CD)

I said that, they even bought me the 360 version of TOB. And steam is made by valve.

I think i saw someone saying they got their copy of audiosurf from one of those bargain bins at a UK retailer.
I can't seem to find the post however, so i'm probably confusing it with something else. You could always ask a friend to pay with his card, and you would just refund him. I used to do this before i had a card of my own.

Which game in particular? I think "Steam games" aren't exclusively on Steam at all. My suggestion, go to the store.

Some parents (like mine) are just insecure about online credit card transactions. They're scared that if some guy got access of their card, then he could go on a shopping spree... a massive spree (due to their large credit card limit).

As for getting it off-line, I'd agree with wilson's suggestion (you don't mind 'wilson', right?).

I have purchased things online, despite fears of my own, and I have never had a problem with it since... I am only 23, so it is a lot easier for me to change than some 30 or 40 year old, but my point stands, once you do it once ortwice, you will begin to understand how secure it really is...

My parents do the whole internet buying junk, as long as it's in england. Alot of my friends do this, I used to ask my friend at school to get me Gmod 10 of steam, he did, but I can only get games when he wants them, and he doesn;t want them for a looooong time (he's broke).

P.S. the game that I want is audiosurf:)

Here's an idea for you, free of charge:
Step 1: Find someone with a credit card who is willing to make the purchase for you.
Step 2: Have them register their own Steam account.
Step 3: Have them purchase the game as a gift and send it to your account.
Step 4: Cough up cash.
Step 5: ????
Step 6: PROFIT!!!1

Try buying a copy off Ebay or other websites.

Apart from this I can't think of much.

Or you could buy one of those visa gift cards I see every where and use that as a credit card.

Pretty sure I saw em at Woolworths last time I was over on that little island.

If I recall, Audiosurf is making it's way over to X-Box LIVE. You could pick it up there if you have a 360.

The 360 thing is still in rumor land. Nothing official has been announced... Yet...

Find a friend who has Steam, get them to buy the game for you as a gift, and you pay them in cash.

Then educate your parents.

I did, and got a GMod out of it, but now he's saying I have to pay VAT on the order, which included 10 games of his. My parents don't care!

Oh, my 360 is playing up again, and they said it will NOT be going on live!

sometimes, I forget how lucky I am to have parents who are into gaming....

It also helps that I'm 23 and live away from home.

It seems like everything is lining up against you. Perhaps you should wait and not get the game :D
If you're my age you have some more important things in the next week or 2

Even if you buy the disc of games on Steam you still have have Steam installed & an account (least you do with The Orange Box). Though thats prob jsut for Valve games not 3rd party ones.

Audiosurf is dumb.......

In reality, Audiosurf has less to do with music and more to do with getting as much points as you can......

You can find other games with more entertainment value for the same price........
