Sup guys this may sound morbid and wierd but what is the song you want to be played at your funeral?

mine at the moment is Mad world by Gary Jules

you know from gears of war

though on the other hand im tempted for Still Alive by GlaDOS

but they dont even have to be from games

Mad World in about teen-age angst.

I would go with Beautiful Day - U2. Afterlife is the shit.

Either the Popeye theme song if there was one. Actually I like smallharmlesskitten's idea of Still Alive.

EDIT

I remember Mad World from Donnie Darko and not from GOW.

Oh yeah. I saw that trailer in a cinema. It was amazing with no lights, surround sound and a huge screen with popcorn and aircon. But I watched Donnie Darko before all that so I revisted that.

"Don't Look Behind (Requiem version)" from Black Lagoon, an anime. It's the closing theme (sorta... this one's a remix) and it just fits the sound of a funeral

I remember it from Tears for Fears.

I Think I'll have Hear Comes the bride at my funeral. This is for two reasons.

1) It'll confuse people
2) I'm planning to have a joint wedding/funeral with a young couple. This is to save money on those ridiculously high funeral costs.

If only I got "life" insurance....if only.

Leave Out All The Rest by Linkin Park. I know, I know... I'm not a big fan of Linkin Park, but this song is not Linkin Park-ish at all... it's more like Depeshe Mode or U2... And it a good funeral song...

If we're going for making people sad, then "When You Go" by Jonathan Coulton... followed by "Yakety Sax," since I'd feel bad for finishing on such a depressing note.

Definitely "Climbing Up The Walls" by Radiohead, just to lighten the mood.

Lighten the mood? HA! Then it's "Since You've Been Gone" by "Weird Al" Yankovic. That'll sure to crack up the mounrning crowd.

"I feel almost as bad as I did, when you were still here" :D

Again, just to lighten the mood: "Another One Bites the Dust" by Queen.

Actualy, in all seriousness Videotape by Radiohead would be awesome. Since it is about a peacefull and happy death.

This is the only answer.

Otherwise, eh. I'd rather they just give my corpse to science and go get drunk at a bar.

November Rain or Knockin' on Heavens Door performed live by the old Guns N' Roses line up would be too awesome.

I'm really stuck between three choices (I actually think of this kinda stuff all the time, these aren't spur of the moment decisions, I've had this planned).

Still Alive, others have also picked it, I would go with it for the absurdity and humor... That and it's fuckin CATCHY.

The end-credits theme from Serenity (the one that is a continuation of that wicked short intro theme). This one is more funeral-suitable but unique and a favorite song of mine.

Everyone Else Has Had More Sex Than Me, by TISM. Right now, rather suitable. I'd wish to have my funeral suit include a white T-Shirt with a big red "1" in the center.

That's about suicide.....Dude, way to freak people out at your funeral.

I have a few.

"Funeral in Carpathia" By Cradle of Filth
"Dirge Inferno" By Cradle of Filth
"As above, So Below" by Behemoth
"Still Life" By Iron maiden
"The Night of the Loving Dead" By Lordi
and Finally:
"Suicide, and Other Comforts" By Cradle of Filth, just to make people wonder.

I will also have paid Antonio Banderez, Mel Gibson, and Drew Carrey all to come and spit on my coffin.

Maybe... Forever Young by Bob Dylan. Or if it was all angsty, My Body Is A Cage by The Arcade Fire, and at the 2:10 mark have some pyrotechnics or something. Although it should be performed live.

Hmmm... can I be post-modernist ironic and say "Marche Funebre" by Chopin?

I'd have to go a little traditional
The processional in would be, Just a closer walk with thee,
The processional out would be When the saints go marching in
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jazz_funeral)
now all I have to do is die somewhere where a New Orleans style jazz ban can be hired out for the gig.

"Imperial Rage" from Force Commander.

The game is crap, but that one track rocks.

I'm surprised no one's said "Don't Fear the Reaper" or something. It'd be a little heavy for my taste, but the thought came up and I can't think of much else.
But maybe...

- Strong Bad's funeral tune "PUT'M IN TH'JAR!" Actually pickling me in a jar and having me carried on the backs of my friends would certainly be... memorable.
or
- "Through the Fire and the Flames" by Dragonforce, at which time my urn would be fired out of a canon, Hunter S. Thompson-style.

The pyramid song, radiohead

I jumped in the river and what did I see?
Black-eyed angels swam with me
A moon full of stars and astral cars
All the figures I used to see
All my lovers were there with me
All my past and futures
And we all went to heaven in a little row boat
There was nothing to fear and nothing to doubt
