Hmmm, interesting topic. Well I'm not a super mega Yahtzee fan, but I kinda agree with CAD being lame. The so called "punch-lines" are to hard to underestand, there's to much violance wich seems to be the leading "joke" in the comic it selfe. To much action movie referance, along with not funny game referance (Kane&Lynch jokes or the Assassins Creed one, STLAKER an etc) and the drawing style? Well just makes me think that someone watched to much American anime parodies

And about VGCats. Well it's hard to say, the comic bassicly has it's UP and DOWNS, the UPS, I would sum as in sometimes funny gaming jokes and the charachters being cartoon like, plus beings cats(well it's original for me, since you can't find a comic like that), and the DOWNS, well to much jokes about sex, pointless killing and well to MUCH random stuff (sometimes random stuff is funny but when you over do it, it becomes annoying like listening to your, younger brother crying every bloody night), and sometimes really stupid gaming parodies or on movies/animes. But I guess both VGCats and CAD without a sex/pointless killing or dumb game/movie joke, is like Jack Thompson without a game lawsuit

Ah, I'm a CAD fan and didn't really like Penny Arcade.

Oh, while I'm at it, might as well post my thoughts on Angry Nintendo/Video Game Nerd.

He sucks. It tells you something when The Irate Gamer is a watered-down version of the Angry Video Game Nerd, and as a result, is BETTER. Angry Nerd basically makes two sentences about a game, plays it poorly on purpose so he can yell "FUCK!" and then that's all he has for a script, so he buys time painfully trying to think of ways to swear that maybe somebody might find funny because they're 10 years old and swearing isn't allowed. I can seriously see it in his face that he's trying to think of new ways to swear on the spot because he has nothing else to say.

But credit where credit is due, I did think he did a good job of reviewing the Ninja Turtles movies.

I'm disappointed. I came to this thread looking for maybe an intellectual discussion on Yahtzee and his reviews, and instead I was inundated with spite and hatred. But I guess it's too late to get onto what should have been the topic of this thread, so I'll just leave it at that.

It's been mentioned, don't associate CAD with Yahztee. I mean, I like CAD as much as the next man, but it'd make my skin crawl if I was compared to my nemesis.

Also, if watching Zero Punctuation is the highlight of your Internet week, that's kind of sad.

I had the same problem. It's on the homepage, just scroll down a bit.

Anyway, I read CAD, and while I liked the first few strips. I read it now becuase it was the first webcomic I ever read, and it's a habit. And, IMO, AVNG is lame. I watched one, and was extremely bored, really quick.

I suppose the thing you have to remember is 'to each their own' (I think I've said this before on a similar thread).

Edit: Yes, I suggest F@NBOYS. It got a few chuckles from me. I think of it as a more subtle, child-friendly CAD.

wow i cant beleive there are fans of vgcats here. they are so terrible, relying on their audience to get their subject matter for the joke. otherwise the joke fails. good comedy does not need an audience with specific knowledge of the subject matter. also even with knowledge, they still arent funny relying on toilet humor and jokes that were funny in 3rd grade.

My favorite has always been Cyanide and Happiness.
The sheer randomness of each cartoon is usually enough to make me laugh, but the best part is the fact that they don't draw a line on what they will/will not do. Theres no set storyline so almost anything can be done, no boundaries, and you have four people behind it keeping it new and diverse.

Yeah, have to agree that the joking suck bulls balls, but I guess there only popular' caus of the heroes being A. Cats and B.That the fans can get allot of ideas with them (stories, pictures, fan comics, ya name it). But like I said there aren't ANY perfict web-comics on the world, each has one of there issues, or "black spots"

Yes. I've been reading CAD for years, and before my very eyes, I saw a comic that I used to find had some good moments slide down into a spiral of self-indulgent storylines and inferior writing.

Couldn't agree more, needs more funny and less whine.

Which episode is that one where Yahtzee says: ''Fuck this shit'', and the blue screen said: ''bother this nonsense''. It gave me a smile on my face for a week so i'd love to know which episode it was.

The AVGN. I used to really like his videos. I still do but now I found Zero Punctuation and I blew my mind!

I'm still a huge fan of CAD no matter what anyone says. I read CAD way before I started watching Yahtzee. The storyline is getting a little deeper and closer to reality, but there's still some pretty funny stuff in there. Being a girl gamer, I've always liked the strips with Lilah telling a guy off or something. Example
And the developing stage of Lilah and Ethan's relationship was highly entertaining.

Meh, for me, its the facial expressions. I'm a sucker for the vgcats facial expressions.

My favourite has got to be LFG, Richard is the main reason why I read it.
