Wow! I'm older then most people I expected to be older then myself. Singing Gremlin, Easy Kill, Anarchemist and John Galt. Kinda scary when you think about it. Anyway, I'm doing my 1st year of college, Film School.

John Galt:

Sparkly Weasel:
Galt... geeze you always came off as being much older.

*Snatches compliment* Thanks, that's the wonder of the internet. No matter how young you are, you can sound like you know it all. Of course, since I'm a teenager, I do know it all. In fact, once you leave high school, you automatically lose all of those bright, idealist views about saving the world and join The Man. I'm sure it's written down as a law somewhere, right along with "Don't Trust Anyone Over 30".

jonmcnamara:

The downside we are in the middle of NOWHERE, the campus is the biggest thing around.

Yeah, it seems there are a disproportionate amount of NE courses you can take out in the middle of nowhere. In fact, the other day I found out about a nuclear engineering class running in Bismarck! Of all places, North Dakota was the last place I'd look for that sort of thing.

Bloomington, Indiana is home Indiana University, which has a HUGE Nuclear Physics department... As well as a Bomb Manufacturing facility about 10 miles outside of the city limits... Rumor has it they assemble Nukes there, too... I would miss my daughter, but how much simpler my life would get if only...

By your American standards (I'm assuming), I'd be in High School, specifically a freshman.

Well, there isn't any standard as that goes... 1st year is freshman, second Sophomore, and so on... I took a five year vacation between High School and my first year of college (this year) so I am still a freshman.

By vacation, I really meant served in the military, ruined my life by getting married, and THEN went to college...

2nd year at university. Finishing up my 3D Film Production module this semester (hopefully... it'd take a small miracle for my short film to be done by the june 13 deadline ^^), then moving on to Computer Games Art at Teesside University in England come fall, wich will complete my bachelor degree in game design.

For the record, what is a Freshman/Sophmore? I'm doing my leaving cert, I suppose kind of like the SATs or the A levels, here in Ireland.

Hey I'm irish too. Just thought I'd point that out because I've never noticed anyone else being Irish on the forum before...

I'm in 3rd year electronic engineering. Exciting stuff.

Why so many nuclear physics labs out in the Mid-West? It's just mindboggling! I never knew the course of study was that popular. Most of the literature I've been reading is sounding off on how there is a shortage of nuclear engineers. But the bomb manufacturing plant sounds nice:

"So, what'd you do at work today?"
"Oh nothin' much, just built enough weaponry to level a small city. 'bout you?"

I've noticed a similar trend, a whole lot of people I thought were older than me are the same age. I expected you'd be more than one year older than me actually. Happy four days till your birthday.

Anarchemitis. It may be a silly name, but it's recognizable and no one would dare steal it. -Portmanteau of Anarchy and Archemitis.
pronounced "Ann-arr-k-emm-ee-tih-ss"

But I guess from the useless complexity of the name a slip up may occur, so I guess I don't blame you.

Yeah, I was actually considering applying there...

As for why there are so many in the midwest... No offense, but the country wouldn't lose much if most of these places had an accident... Better nowhere Indiana than New York, Los Angeles, or any other heavy population center... And most of those places don't have many farms nearby either....

Yeah, I need another vacation now that my vacation is over...

You know, I technically did two semesters in a Technical school for Automotive Technology... Even though it doesn't count for my new school, I think that makes me a Sophomore...

Oh, heaven help us if something happens to North Dakota! I guess that logic actually does make sense though. Best have the lab messing with atoms away from the cities, makes it harder for those sneaky Reds to get our bombs.

College, animation program. Just got off a 3-year waiting list, so I'll have spent 5 years at a 2-year college. ^_^;

We call it University in Australia. I'm in first year Arts, Majoring in History and Philosophy at UTAS.

It does occur to me how little the number of job offerings are for those two subjects, haha.

We still have colleges and TAFE's. College is just Uni that's private. I think?

Pity you didn't separate the graduated and dropped out/other options - would be interesting to see how many graduates are here.

Personally, I am halfway through my (first?) degree (a BSc, Organic/Analytical Chem) but have been having a long-term break.

I'm a Mental Health Nursing student in my final year, currently going completely insane trying to write my nursing management essay. Seriously thinking about handing in a fail, then redoing it at the second diet...

Strictly speaking, I've graduated. But now I'm doing my Masters, so I guess I'd fall under college student again (don't you crazy Yanks have universities?)

Finished Sixth-form last year, spent this year saving up some money, and I've got an audition for guitar school on Wednesday. If I get a place, I will be happier than a pig in swill.

Fantastic stuff. My university is opening a brand new Archaeology unit next year, I'm hoping to get a place... but it means dropping Philosophy as a major, so I'm not so sure.

I dropped out of highschool during my last year.(OAC, Grade 13 in Ontario. Consequently, my grade was the last to have grade 13 as well.) I ended up getting my GED a few years later. I didn't go to post-secondary. If I didn't move across the country for love, I would have finished highschool in just four more months. I still wouldn't have gone to post-secondary, as I have no clue on what I want to do. I would have just spent $50 000 on an Arts degree or something.

Working for the railway currently.

We do have universities, but (at least around me) they all appear to just be a collection of colleges. Guess I never thought about a difference.

I'm in my third year of a biology degree at Sheffield University. I finish in about a month... that's a terrifying thought. I'm probably going to have a year out, then do a masters and maybe a PHD although I'm still unsure. :/
