Why, yes, I have heard of Irn-Bru. Although I have never actually tasted it, I've heard it has a unique flavor and color.(bright orange? I'm not sure)I learned about it after a long procrastination on Wikipedia looking up minority soda companies. Isn't it Scottish?

Not a fan of IrnBru m'self but I have tried it. My friend and me often visit the British Import shop, she is HOOKED on the stuff (but she's FROM England), I often get Cherry 7-Up, which we don't get in Canada anymore.

Well, I'm from Aberdeen, not America, but my father always used to tell me that Scotland was the only country in the world where a brand of cola wasn't the most popular canned drink. Probably not true, like most of the things my father has told me, but it's still the world's best hangover cure.

Another food/drink from the UK that has a distinct taste and a 'love it or hate it' reputation is Marmite. I've always wondered how well known it is in America, and seeing as this thread is along the same lines, has anyone in America tried it before?

I love Irn-Bru. I only heard of it because I have lived in England however, but still I yearn for it. No matter how far I have searched, I have been unable to find it.

Nary heard of it. Orangina is slowly becoming easier to come by though. There are also some non-Bawls guaranas coming in at a slower rate.

I've heard of Leninade. Not of Irm-Bru or whatever.

Never heard of it...Sounds like that pop is having the same effect that Surge had here in the US a handful of years ago. Man I was addicted to that stuff. They finally had to take it off the market for some reason or another. Mind control, I'm telling you.

WHoo, got that out of my system; Soda is nice every once in a while, and I usually only drink it when it's free. But like all treats it's best in moderation. I'm willing to try a new thing, however, I'll check it out at the local store if I can find it.

Which reminds me, has anyone ever had the Jamon flavored potato chips (crisps for you limeys)? They're usually sold in spain and I have yet to find them in the states, and they're a testament to how much we Spaniards love our ham. I suppose we could start a whole thread on random foreign junk food with all the awesome finds across the world, and another whole thread on random Japanese junk food.

I've only heard of it because of that damned "Impossible Quiz" flash game, lmao ("Marmite"..."but Pa might not"). So my guess would be no, it isn't very popular over here. What is it, anyways?

I actually *have* heard about that stuff! It was on a counter-strike skinning site. Somebody made a skin for the handgrenade that made it look like a bottle of Irn-Bru. And now that I've heard of it, I want to try it.

I have heard on it, but only because I had to do a project about caffeine. One variation of Irn-Bru actually has toxic levels of caffeine, which would explain the people saying that they are hooked on it.

It may just have been a myth. But I heard one of the ingredients caused it to be banned in the US. Could have been the caffine issue.

I also live near a Coca-Cola bottling plant and they still sell it in glass bottles so I can get those crates that they used to come in full of pop in glass bottles, and why does it always taste better in glass bottles? I think its the chemicals they use to clean 'em out...yummmm
but jones is the one with turkey and gravy flavor right? has enyone ever tried that?

I'm drinking some right now. I'm sure this stuff will inevitabely be the death of my teeth.

When I went to a Scottish heritage event there was this one vendor that sold Irn-bru and Haggis.

It's cause in the metal bottles they have a metallic taste.
You know, aluminum cans.
Plastic bottles, plasticky...
Glass: No flavor!!!
