Not so much that I took offense at it, even though it is my religion... Just that everyone else corrects anyone who misspells their names, so I did too...

It means nothing, can lend a ludicrous sense of false superiority, and you can't change it, so when someone comes along who trumps you, you can't do anything except deflect attention, look sheepish, and shut the hell up. Kudos to Cheesy, in that regard.

Post counts are meh. If you need the help of a number to tell you how much you should listen to someone, then you need help. If someone builds up 500 posts in two days with nothing but meaningless crap, the fact that they have nothing worthwhile to say is usually a more reliable measure of how stupid they are, more than their ridiculous post count.

and the post count/join date ratio doesnt appply to all, some people...moslty me if my ratio is hiigh i really dont know but

Not that I hang around a lot of forums, but this is the first time I've ever seen such a post counter. And I don't really care about it too much - it is a bit fun, it's sort of akin to your level in an rpg - but it never figures into my evaluation of an individual post. I just thought it'd be interesting to see what everyone else thought.

You thought I was being serious? Isn't it more likely that I was joking, than making such a big deal over something as meaningless as post counts or join dates? I'd find it difficult to believe that somebody could be quite that petty, myself. To be honest, I find it hard to see how my post could be taken as insulting.

So, technically, mr cheeze has no time superiority here... I believe it's Cheeze Pavilion (sp?) (sorry, I don't know who it is. Could someone please correct me if I'm wrong about who's the oldest?).

I think the post counts are and should be directly proportional to your influence on the forums. The more time you waste here, the more say you should have.

However, that also means that my opinion matters little, so no one should care what I say.

I was actually referring to the Dairy Gazebo himself. I don't actually know who Mr Cheeze is.

That's a fairly common feature on forums. In my experience, it's more unsual when your member title isn't customisable.

I haven't really had a problem on other forums with the post counter. Only on one forum, really.
Anyway, I like the post count feature. It shows those who have been around for long periods of time (and kind of gives them more respect, I suppose), but it doesn't really discriminate against the new users.

I think it's just there because a lot of people just expect it to be there, but honestly, I don't care about it. I don't think it really means much at all.
