Have to agree there. I would even go as far as to say their live version of Darkside of the Moon from Pulse was better than the album, but that's because David Gilmour is my guitar god and everything he does live is bloody fantastic, not to mention perfect. Also I must mention Guns N' Roses 'Rocket Queen' is much better from their Live Era album. Metallica's 'For Whom The Bell Tolls' is a great live song from any of their live albums. The Ride the Lightning version didn't do it for me, and then I heard the Live Shit:Binge and Purge version and was floored. |

I think that album is the only one I have ever heard where the songs so seamlessly slot together to make something more than the sum of their parts. Breathtaking stuff and I agree on the David Gilmour front |

Immigrant song - Fuck-o-shitting brilliant song (new therm) in 1972 in Australia. Can be found on youtube Black Dog - The version on mothership(wich you should get now because mother ship is insane. The dvd version that is) is brilliant We're gonna groove - 1970 royal albert hall can be seen on youtube and a lot more but Im getting tired of writing this all |

Paperboy Posts: 21 Joined: 16 May 2008 | Also, Dir en grey used to be really good live but the head singer got vocal chords surgery and then they weren't anymore... |

Bite your tongue.....oh I can't stand it...you're half right, with some of the stuff (particularly their current material) sounding best on the C.Ds. But actually live is best. My Guitar Wants to Kill Your Mama - a live version done by Steve Vai. Sounds metric tons better than Frank Zappas version. |
