While the marines work with the navy on their ships and the like. They are technically seperate branches but I don't want to start an argument with you. For me though I would say Armed forces THEN Emergency services. I wouldn't put Firefighters at the top of my list though because police are just all around disrespected and their job is depressing because almost nobody is happy to see them. And in my town all firefighters do is follow the police like the bullies best friend that agrees with then repeats everything the bully says. |
Copy Clerk Posts: 109 Joined: 4 Dec 2007 | i would have to say the average joe doing the dirty jobs. they do the jobs everyone else wouldnt touch. and they do it to keep OUR lives confortable. without these men and women we would live in a hell hole. i would also like to say any man or woman in the armed services. it takes guts no matter who you are to put on a uniform and walk into bullets |
Anonymous Source Posts: 10 Joined: 21 May 2008 | i like how all you guys diss the cops but for me the most respected is the police or in my country the RCMP or mounties...whatever you want to call them because they still do theyre job even with all the disrespect and hate towards and the world would be alot different without em |
Copy Clerk Posts: 102 Joined: 14 Apr 2008 | Yeah, I really respect the police. I mean, sure there are stupid laws they have to enforce and some of them can be dickwads, but when it comes down to it, everyday they're out there risking their life so that those who rape, murder or steal from others can be brought to justice. |

Firefighters arn't even paid money here in Austria, they get my extra respect for doing the job. I pay respect to my teachers for putting up with us. User was banned for: Zero Punctuation: Mailbag Showdown. (Permanent) |

Great series (I especially liked El Pollo Diablo ;), but personally it feels like Richard has become a Mary Sue in the later books. Anyway, I hate to be a "me too" I have to say I have great respect for those who nurture and protect life. |

I met Ron Jeremy... and he's an ass. I was 17, heading to a friend's concert at a club in Toledo. They were playing, Ron Jeremy was there for publicity I guess. I buy my ticket and wait for my friend. Mr. Jeremy approaches. The argument didn't end until my friend from the band came up to steal me away from the conversation. Ugh. Anyways, I have a lot of respect for teachers. Especially the teachers from my high school. They deal with a lot of really stupid kids on an every day basis and must have the patience of a saint, because I know I'd turn violent after the end of one day of dealing with those kids. |

Paperboy Posts: 26 Joined: 26 May 2008 | I respect: Cops: Dealing with the most annoying parts of society ALL DAY EVERY DAY. "Cops are assholes!" Yeah whatever, you would be too if you were one. Firefighters (in cities): I respect urban firefighters more than their suburban counterparts. Why? Because they're in the shit every day. Suburban firefighters pretty much use their job to pick up skanks in bars before heading off to another rousing day of watching TV and having chili cook offs at the firehouse. EMTs: GO GO GO GOTTA SAVE PEOPLE. Its noble, and cool. Teachers: My mom is a high school english teacher. She goes out of her way every day to help kids and works 15 hour days routinely. The amount of crap teachers put up with is fucking amazing. |

I respect ANZAC's not the kind who are in war now (not that I don't respect them, or am totaly sure they are called ANZAC's), the kind who are 80 years old. |

Copy Clerk Posts: 70 Joined: 16 Mar 2008 | I respect the altruistic, the courageous and the gentle. A person's profession actually has very little to do with the matter. Usually people work only because they have to make money and/or because they want respect or authority. Sometimes people seek some sort of personal validation through their professions, but usually it only leads to frustration, because reality is very good at spoiling our fun and making us look like a bunch of fools. |

There are many figures we pay respect to. The passed on, (Rest in Peace, Grandpa) everyday citizens, teachers, bosses...
Who are those whom you respect the most?
Out of Humans, I highly regard those in Emergency Response services, mostly Ambulances and Firetrucks.. I have extremely high respect to those who drive down the streets with flashing lights and loud nosies, knowing that their jobs mean trying as hard as humanly possible to save lives. Heck, the entirety of being a Firefighter is a friggen Escort Mission!
