Forgot about that. The reality with dual drive motorcycles it is. |
Paperboy Posts: 27 Joined: 28 May 2008 | Naruto would be cool ... as long as I could learn the kage bushin and copy myself to do work while I sleep. Buahaha. But I would probably pick Cowboy Bebop too, mostly because of the future/ships as well. Slayers would be neat - only if I could actually do some magic ... :) |

Copy Clerk Posts: 68 Joined: 17 Feb 2008 | I don't know if I would, the majority of anime worlds are a little bit 2 dimensional for me. For example, if you were in the world of Naruto I think it would get annoying by the 4th or 5th time enemy ninjas show up to duel you/kidnap your family/try to burn down the town. That sort of stuff happens a lot. Another example would be Slayers... The number of people in that world that have magical powers is really small and even if you do you're probably going to be chased out of anywhere you are because of it. And if you aren't one with magic you are stuck in a universe that lives by the sword and you have the chance of being accidentally disintegrated by someone who does (Lina does this to an entire city at least once a season). Even one that sounds good to start like say, Love Hina would probably get boring eventually. How long can you have all those girls coming after you before they get jealous and angry at you for not picking one of them? Also, you would need to learn Japanese ;) I love anime, but I wouldn't want to live in one. Although I would definitely love to have blue hair. |

One of the few animes that I know of in which the villains are fairly incompetent, thus you don't have to worry about them killing you/blowing up the planet. Also, the whole being on your own and seeing the world at the age of 10 thing while being relatively safe would have its perks. And of course, the main strong point: being able to have your own army of monsters that do your bidding, from giving you a ride on their backs as they fly/swim, to freezing your drinks to keep them from getting warm, to getting revenge on people who piss you off. |
Paperboy Posts: 11 Joined: 1 May 2008 | Er... *stares at collection of manga*... But I think I'll have to go with Pet Shop of Horrors. Not the new Tokyo one (though it is still awesome), but the old, original one. I'd love to meet Leon. The Akamatsuverse might be cool, too. But it's a little perverted, I'd want to be some type of mage, and then I'd be worried all the time about ending up like Takane. |

Bah, humans in Slayers tend to have a low death-rate. Even Lina's fireball is toned down enough to knock bandits unconscious. Besides, there are dragons in Slayers. Pet Dragons, at that (look at the first ep). That and I believe you can learn magic, it's not an inherent ability all the time (magic items, I believe Amelia learned her magic through being a princess). That's definitely one of the universes I could enjoy being in. To stay alive I would have to stay out of towns, learn to protect myself (or be with people who can keep me out of too much danger), and run the other way when I hear chanting. I would not mind living in a OnePiece world, provided it's the uncut one. The death rate is higher, but it would be worth it to have a funky power from eating rare fruit. The downside, I guess, would be monotony from sailing on ships. |
Copy Clerk Posts: 112 Joined: 29 Mar 2008 | I would most like to probably live in the "Ah! My Godess!" Realm. Having a very attractive goddess as a girlfriend, having wishes granted through the power of prayer, and the wacky misadventures all work as a great incentive. In a jam, however, I would most like to also live in the "Air Gear\" Realm. Having skates that auto-run on the power of your mind & can do amazing tricks would be amazing. Of course, Pokemon or Digimon would be nice too. :) |
Paperboy Posts: 31 Joined: 25 May 2008 | The world of Cowboy Bebop would be awesome. Escaflowne would be another cool one (cat people, dragons, AND giant robots? Win.) Much as I enjoy Pokemon, I wouldn't want to live in their world for long. Kricketunes jumping out of boxes in the basement, Rattatas getting into your trash, critters attacking you when you crossed your lawn to get your mail...ugh. Plus the forcing of animals to battle is like legalizing dog fights. Just not cool. But I'd love to..... And really...just the cat bus ride would make me a very happy girl. |

Copy Clerk Posts: 105 Joined: 16 Mar 2008 | Ghost in the Shell would be kinda cool, but it's a dangerous place. In fact, wwwaaayyy too dangerous for me... So I'll go with Cowboy Bebop, though the economy doesn't look very good in that place, or Fullmetal Alchemist, though the government is warmongering... |

Gone Gonzo Posts: 2251 Joined: 14 Jun 2008 | You guys are missing the point of the thread, it's not asking which anime world you would want to live in, it's asking what kind of world it would be and what you would do there. the power to make my ultra hot "lady friend" develop a colossal crush on me (allready found in every male anime protaginist EVER) and an annoing sidekick that spends every minute of every day spewing out "quoteable one liners"... actually scratch that one |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 2212 Joined: 24 Apr 2008 | Id rather die, Anime is fun to watch but its important to remember if your not the protagonist... your life us mundane or terrifying. And the protagonist is never happy unless its some porno, And if your motivation for living in an anime is the sex than which anime to choose is the least of your worries. |

Well in that case, any world which combines magic and mecha, falls dangerously close to being Hentai, has little to no perma-death, and one with bangable hot elven or human-polymorphed dragon chicks... What I'd do? Ride Mecha, Ride Dragons, RIDE Dragons, and RIDE elves... |

Ha, true that, the civilians seem to never die or even sustain injury in that show, while the ninjas are gettin' hurt and killed at every step. But otherwise, I'd want to be in Cowboy Bebop because of the ships of course, and maybe Bleach cause a Soul Reaver would be an awesome job. And I definitely would not want to be in Trigun or Elfen Lied (although the latter is my favorite anime ever.) |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1712 Joined: 1 Feb 2008 | My Otome would be fun. I'm not into mecha, but I could do a battle-suit magical armor thing. And I have had electric blue hair - it was perfect on me an I am bummed my current employer won't let me dye it. I wouldn't mind being an exchange student at Ouran High School, though given my luck, I'd probably end up in "Welcome to the NHK" instead. |
Paperboy Posts: 28 Joined: 8 Jun 2008 | Have to say I agree with all the Cowboy Bebop people, if not just for the awesome style the whole universe has taken on. Getting up to all sorts of hijinks in space while being plain jazzy! Ghost in the Shell would be cool for all the implants and because its such a detailed world already but it doesn't seem like the best world for the average person. As long as you were Alucard or Seres then the Hellsing world would rock, otherwise you just end up as a pool of blood. And I agree, Akira just for the motorbikes (especially since mine is currently bent all-ways from sunday and being repaired...damn taxidrivers) |

Press Junketeer Posts: 410 Joined: 18 May 2008 | A world where I get to kill monsters everyday. With a sword. So that would either be in Bleach or Rave Master. I REALLY would NOT want to live in a world where books can give people heart attacks though. |
Beat Writer Posts: 186 Joined: 2 Jan 2008 | Ranma 1/2 would be a great one. EVERYTHING is a martial art. Possibly, Robotech/Macross too. I want to fly Veritechs and have the best of all combat. I'd be risking my life but something feels right about it that I can't describe. |
