So far so good let's sit on a sofa :) Magnetohydrodynamics, Supercalifragilistic-expialidocious, Methionylthreonyl...(189778 letters)...glutaminylserxisoleucine and the way the butler says "fruwit" in dinner for one. |
Paperboy Posts: 32 Joined: 20 Mar 2008 | Hmm.... this is a hell of a question. I love words! I can't think of just ONE in English, so I'll default to French, where my favourite word without question is "crepuscule" ("twilight"). |
Beat Writer Posts: 156 Joined: 17 May 2007 | "Individual". One day when I was a quite young I saw the word "individual" and, like Neo in the Matrix, suddenly saw and understood both the word as a whole and the component parts that made it up and gave it its meaning. In-divi-dual: Can not be cut in two. "Irony" is also a great word, and every time I see it carelessly defiled by another American who thinks they know what it means, a little piece of me dies inside. |

That looks like what assassin would sound like if Sean Connery said it. By the way, I think I'm going to have to add specious to my list. |

Everyone has a favourite word, even if they never get to use it.
I like 'Inquistion' and all the other ways: 'Inquire' 'Inquistor'
I have never known why and I've yet to say it in normal coversation, but it would be damn cool!
Also the word booby is great. Not the actual connotation of the word, but just the way it sounds. It rolls off the tounge. (No, that wasn't a pun!)
