Gone Gonzo Posts: 2403 Joined: 7 Feb 2008 | Bruce Springsteen is great, David Bowie puts on an amazing show, Van Halen kinda sucks(a bunch of trying to be hip old guys with no energy), Metallica is pretty godd (and I'm NOT a fan, but they put on a good show). STARS sounds better live than on their albums as do The New Pornographers and the Flamming Lips are incredible live. |

Nothing, I mean nothing sounds better than a concert hall filled with people screaming-singing Jukebox Hero at the top of their lungs and still being drowned out by Lou Gramm's oldschool voice. Same goes for all Foreigner-related songs, but JBH is definitely my favourite song of all time. |

Beat Writer Posts: 148 Joined: 3 Jun 2008 | I could've seen Metallica two times and both shows were so packed with people that the sound actually travelled too slow for the pictures on the stagescreens, so I went out.
You call that awesome? |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1335 Joined: 29 Nov 2007 | Ween is the best live band I've ever seen. No warm-up band, no BS. They went on stage, played for 3 hours, went off for a couple of minutes, and usually do one encore song. Freaking. Awesome. |

Yes, Rush is awesome live. Their chemistry live is amazing. Also, Foo Fighters and Our Lady Peace Rock live. |

Ween is one of my favourite bands ever, but they rarely play in europe. |

There's not much singing to Metallica so it is easer I guess. |
Paperboy Posts: 22 Joined: 29 Apr 2008 | The Tragically Hip, Rolling Stones, Iron Maiden, Rush, and Bowie all have my votes for 'sounding good live'. |
Paperboy Posts: 17 Joined: 12 May 2008 | Tool are awesome live... In fact they're one of the best bands I've ever seen... as are Dredg. Their live album (Live at the Fillmore) is actually spot on and sounds more like a studio album (I've seen them live aswell and they're awesome) than anything. |

I hate to say it, but I have to disagree. I saw Linkin Park and My Chemical Romance in concert and I thought they were amazing. Linkin Park sounded almost exactly like their CD's and the show itself was intense. My Chemical Romance I thought would have sucked by they were amazing too! Other bands I've seen that were surprisingly good: Wyclef: even though I like his music, I was worried about a concert...but it turned out to be amazing. |
Paperboy Posts: 43 Joined: 12 Jun 2008 | The Prodigy and Faithless are bloody amazing live. They sound awesome and their stage presence is fantastic. I also recomment the Foo Fighters, Jimmy Eat World and the Red Hot Chili Peppers (however the Chilis have been known to have off days, especially if Anthonys voice isn't on the level) |

Muckraker Posts: 330 Joined: 3 Jan 2008 | Pink Floyd. They sound amazing either way! When it comes to Linkin Park. I thought High Voltage sounded so much better live than the actual song. |

Gone Gonzo Posts: 2002 Joined: 7 Mar 2008 | hmmm live bands Rammstein - FIRE FIRE FIRE FIRE!!!!!!!! so much fun live Skinny Puppy - what came back to earth was a great rock and roll band, totally awesome live
yeah wEEn rules live, long live the boognish, last time i saw them they played for a good 3 hours, i was sick and had a comfy couch to sit on, so i could just sit there and listen to them play, the semi-delirium actually made them sound better
it's a double edged sword, sometimes it's a good thing and sometimes bad it's when they deviate too far from the album sound it's bad, that means they are over produced, garbage is a great example of it, great on album, REALLY crappy live, guess that happens when you have a band full of producers |

Paperboy Posts: 20 Joined: 12 Dec 2007 | Muse are fantastic live. I've seen them twice in 2 years and each time they were great. Klaxons are good live too but thats only if your in the mood for a fight! |

Stole my contribution! |
Muckraker Posts: 334 Joined: 25 Mar 2008 | The Black Keys. No competition to that in my opinion. Just 2 guys on a stage doing their thing. Though I have to admit, when they play one of their slower songs, you sometimes just want Dan to play some more awesome guitar riffs again, and Pat pounding those drums. I've yet to see them since the release of their newest cd, and that one is more up-tempo, so I can't wait to see them again this november ^^ |
Pulitzer Laureate Posts: 925 Joined: 25 Jan 2008 | The Prodigy, The Living End, Muse are my three best bands to have seen live. Perhaps my most surprising great gig was Enter Shikari at Leeds last year. Those guys were awesome. |

Gone Gonzo Posts: 2892 Joined: 4 May 2008 | Muse and Enter Shikari are face-meltingly brilliant live. Face. Meltingly. Brilliant. |

What Band / Artist's actually sound good live in concert?
Eg, Linkin Park are gold, but they sound like absoulte crap live (still worth seeing)
Guns'n'Roses sound great live in concert.
Any thoughts?
