Stumbleupon, about 2 years ago. Before Zero Punctuation. Before Escapist 2.0. Back when the articles were beautifully layed out just like it were a glossy magazine you'd go and buy.

I miss that version of the website...

Me too. Let's mourn a bygone era together.

It is interesting to note how many people were lured here by Yahtzee's comedic reviews.
I must admit that I am one of these people and chanced upon it whilst searching for game reviews on Google (a lot of game related sites are banned on my work network, and the Escapist is one of only a few they (thankfully) managed to overlook).

IGN -> Portal -> Wikipedia Entry on Portal -> Footnotes Section in the Wikipedia Entry on Portal -> ZP! Review of Portal.

There you go.

I was reading Dueling Analogs one day and i noticed that the comic was in black and yellow and had some stick figure man talking with someone interrupting him and trying to make a point that an interruption must be showed by a punctuation mark...at the bottom of the comic was a link to here and so i watched the videos...and i really liked them!

Watched "yahtzee19" on youtube then the video said he was here so I went here (didn't really care about the forum until I was waiting for ZP to load, was bored, clicked forums and was pleasantly surprised they weren't full of flame wars.

It was every friday at college when a friend of mine constantly said "You been on the Escapist yet? C'mon look for the Zero Puncuation link" so I gave in and well here I am...

My sister's then boyfriend (now fiance) showed me Zero Punctuation, and I eventually stumbled across the message boards and never looked back.

A friend (Zen) showed me the Bioshock review. But I generally stumbled in reading Shoot-Club and the other articles.

I Found the Escapist by typing to Google "Assassin's Creed Ending explained."
Needless to say I found the Assassin's Creed ZP.

This place would be next to unknown without Zero Punctuation.

A friend of mine showed me ZP here so I started reading the forums. It looked like it didn't consist of the usual immature children that seem to populate most of the other forums I've seen so I figured I'd join.

I was following Yahtzee for a while and Saw his originals on you tube. I continued to follow his reviews here. I had been a fan for a couple of months on FullyRamblomatic.

people kept talking about Zero Punctuation so I took it a look, then took a look at the rest of the site.

In a drunken stupor, I was told about ZP, which allegedly I stated, "it sucks!" or something to that nature...and then I saw the site again sober, and absolutely fell in love with it. <3

A friend showed me some ZP, and I got hooked, and asked him for the address.

Youtube -> ZP -> hilarity -> escapist -> more hilarity

Is it just me, or does Yatzee seem to share most of /v/'s opinions?

My friend told me about Yahtzee. I watched a few videos, then read a few articles. I like this site. I saw topic titles in the "What's New" feed. I saw some interesting and creative topics so here I am 200 post later.

Kinda for two reasons.

One of my lecturers at uni (the cool one) told me to check out The Escapist but I forgot about it by the time I got home.

A few days later I Stumble Upon-ed it. Been reading the forums since, although I don't post all that often.
