I'm gonna go with Bruce Dickinson, as he's simply the most awesome human being who has ever lived. He's simultaneously a pilot, a world class fencer, a DJ, an author, and singer for his own band and the worlds greatest band.

BLAM! Couldn't agree more.
However, I have to counter with Captain Falcon. Awesome physique, and in the far off future, he still sounds like a stoned surfer.
Not to mention Spandex. Hell's yes.

Yes, but Bruce is nearly 50, but in as good a shape and wearing Spandex (well, for some of the songs).

Oh definitely. I went and saw them last month. That guy will never physically be old. Twas the most mind blowing experience in the world.

My father; now I could say he's one of the smartest people you'll ever meet, or that he's one of the funniest people you'll ever meet, or that he's had to put up with more bullshit in his life than most people have to in ten lifetimes, but all of those things seem insubstantial next to this story.

My mother tells me it was about three-thirty in the afternoon. Him and my mom were walking down a street when they both noticed there was a fire about a block away from them. My dad and her ran to it to see what was happening; There were a bunch of other people gathered around it too (my mother says it was at least fifty) just standing and looking at the burning building. My father went over to talk to someone, and, givivng a slip of paper to my mother, told her to call the fire station and inform them of the situation, which she did (She was told the firetrucks were already on their way, so it was something of a moot point). When she came back, several firetrucks and ambulences had gotten there; One of the firemen walked up to her and asked her if she knew my dad (she said yes) and he told her that my dad had pulled three people out of the building behind them, and that he was on one of the ambulences getting some air.

Later, my mother asked my dad why he would run into a burning building, and he turned to her and said, "Did you expect me to stand there and watch people die?"

That is why I admire my father, more so than any other person. Not becase he ran into a burning building, but because he ran into a burning building to save people.

Tanthalos Half Elven form the Dragonlance series, I can relate to him a great deal even when he becomes a colossal moron in the later section of the series.

A fictional hero would be marcus fenix, because he put his family as a more impotant proiority than his well being (play gears of war if you're confused) and a real life hero would be my step-dad, because he got me into good music and all that good stuff

Joe Satriani - Why? Because, he is probably the most awesome guitarist I have ever listened to. Every song of his that I've listened to - so far - is pure instrumental ecstacy. If you've ever listened to his songs, then you'd know that he is a complete monster on the guitar. He plays with a lot of soul and doesn't waste a single second where he could be picking, whammying, hammering, and whatever lingo they use in the crazy world of guitar music.

Did I forget to mention that he made a song titled "Surfing With The Alien"? Really, anyone who can come up with a name like THAT has to be more awesome than Chuck Norris by default.

SINGLE PERSON - Tim Schafer or George Gershwin

FICTIONAL - Boyd Cooper (The Milkman) from Psychonauts
NON HUMAN - Uh, either Lassie or Skippy the Bush Kangaroo, I guess...

No, scratch all of mine.

My hero is Mr Fox, my Geography teacher.

I mean, he owns his own I.T. company (which he gave to his son), has been in just about every country in the world, and is retired!
(He's a geography teacher because he's a 45-year-old workaholic) The best thing about him is that you can ask him just about any question, and he'll write an essay on it for you off the top of his head.

AND NO ONE DARE MENTION CHUCK NORRIS OR I'LL JUMP OUT OF YOUR SCREEN AND STRANGLE YOU!
(Oh crap... what have I done...)

Russian redneck, I love you. Saint joe has got to Be the best guitarist EVER. not only surfing with alien but every single one of his song is a unique experience unlike some of "play-one-riff-look-pretty" rockers(read:retards) they have on MTV today. But my second would be his students Kirt hammett and steve vai. those guys are awesome.

Rage against the machine are the most influencial bands to me. They speak the truth when everyone else choose to be ignorant.

I also admire yahtzee, he goes toe-to-toe with fanboys everywhere and is not afraid to say something sucks. He's striving to bring quality control back

My real life hero is my German-arse-kicker Grandad, He was a tank driver in WW2.
But my video-games heroes are Master Cheif and Link. I really can't decide between them ^_^.

I don't really have a hero, but i really respect Arnold Schwarzenegger.

He's not the greatest Actor and from what i hear, not really the greatest politician, but it is incredible how much he has archieved by never being satisfied with what he has, but instead working on a new, even higher goal.

I adore Jimmy Page. He is amazing. Hunter S. Thompson because he taught me to question authority. And Al Bundy, because no matter haw bad life seems at times, Al has had it worse.

Mitch Hedberg. He was quite unique and had to overcome crippling shyness to become a showman. I also have to say Jimi Hendrix, just for the amazing imagination that man had.

Norman Borlug, James Randy, Penn Jillette (and his partner Teller).

Fictional I have to go with AUSTIN POWERS. Not the fact that he was a secret agent, but that he stood for freedom, true freedom. Being who you are, letting others be who they are and really enjoying life for everything it is... Except Dr Evil of course...

Honestly, i do not have a hero. The closest thing i would consider to be a personal hero is my father. Sorry i didnt say "my grandfather", one died in the Korean War, and the other lives in Panama.

Chuck Norris is in good shape, not to mention a well known accomplished martial artist. So, it's not really breaking the seriousness.

Any really good and original song writer.

For video games Arthas Menethil, because nothing ever stops that man. And Dark Side Revan for being a much bigger dick than I could ever hope to be. Also James Sunderland, for being bat shit crazy, and for good reason.

My Grandfather before he died because of some damn diesese the doctors don't know crap about.
He was Seventy-two before he got the diesese.
And at that time he could have kicked the ass of most 20-30-40 year olds.
He wasn't a body builder but his muscle tone was what most body builders would dream about.

My hero is a Broadway actor named Hugh Panaro. He's a much, MUCH better actor than about 90% of Hollywood (except for Christian Bale, who is facking oresome), and most people have never heard of him because he's never been in "Bang Bang Shoot 'Em Up Explosion Fiesta XXVI", or something like that. I first discovered him while browsing videos on YouTube of "The Phantom of the Opera"(my life's obsession), and discovered that he had played the Phantom for quite awhile. Every aspect of his performance was so jaw-droppingly amazing; he had the most beautiful voice I'd ever heard, and he packed so much emotion into his performance that I was in tears watching it on YouTube.

Last night, after flying 1,200 miles, I saw him star in a production of "Les Miserables" in Philadelphia and, once again, I was moved to tears by nearly every song he sang. Afterwards, I waited at the stage door for him, having left a message at intermission. When he finally comes out, he's swamped by fans while I'm waiting in the background. Shortly after, it gets quiet and I hear him say "Excuse me, are you Warren?" I almost crapped my pants. My hero recognized me, and broke past many other people to come talk to me. And talk we did. HE pulled ME into a hug, he signed all my stuff(personalizing it with a message instead of just scribbling his name). He willingly stayed behind after everyone else had left just to talk to me, and he never tried to edge away, or make excuses. It was almost like he was as enthralled to talk to me as I was to talk to him. He was just the most genuinely kind, talented, amazing person I had ever met.

My heroes:

Individual person: Joss Whedon. (attention: If you think that all Joss Whedon can write is one-liners, go out and rent season 5 of Buffy, and watch episode 16 ("The Body"). You don't have to see any other episodes, just watch that episode. Period.)

Group: Pixar. (the team that saved Disney from the scrap heap. Also, John Lasseter oversaw the English release of most of Miyazaki's movies, and ensured there was no editing, no Macekring, and a good degree of quality in the voice acting for the dubs, so he earns definite points.)

Fictional: Sylar... just kidding. Detective Robert Goren... also kidding... jeez, there are so many to choose from... ah, what the heck, I'll choose The Imp. The ZP mascot. Throughout the archive of Yahtzee's videos, the Imp has had a thousand different jobs (even an action movie career), some of which looked nasty but some of which were awesome, he can take a lot of punishment, beat up stuff (he bit Jill Valentine's head off, and he's swallowed several other characters whole, if I remember), and he's adorable to boot. I'd love to be the Imp, although it means putting up with Yahtzee face to face.

Gonna have to also say Hunter S. Thompson, as he taught me to not only question different things, but to blatantly tell it like it is, no filter, no editing, just flat out Gonzo

Individual: Either Warren Spector or John Romero. I respect both to no end, the latter did make Daikatana but I just brush that away and point at Doom and Quake.

Group: JAM Project. A band dedicated to creating bombastic and over the top anime theme songs. How they can take their jobs so darn seriously is beyond me when they sing about how awesome a giant robot is.

Fictional: Beyond the Grave. Come on people, he's a Mobster Zombie Cowboy with a Coffin filled with military grade weapons. Plus he does anime poses in the middle of gunfights. Too damn awesome.

Well, Rambo has always been my hero, since I was a little child. I was 2 years old, and I used to imitate him.

But out of real people, I'd say my grandfather, who was Lieutenant-Colonel in the Russian army, during WWII. He was my most beloved relative, even compared to my mother and father. I miss him.

Rock Lee. I don't watch the show anymore, but when I was undergoing chemotherapy I would think of him when times were tough and I would draw strength from him.
