slyder35:
This question is based around the fact that I absolutely cannot stand any Red Hot Chilli Pepper songs. I can't stand their music or his voice, despite everyone around me loving them, it's just a fact.

So which (just pick 1) "cool" or "in" band can't you stand?

[ps - bands such as backstreet boys, the wiggles, or roxette are not cool or in, and are hence to be excluded from this discussion]

Well... I agree with RHCP.

Bring me the horizon
because they sound like noise and fuck up metal with their fringes.

and SOAD because I think they have absolutely no sense of rhythm whatsoever and their songs about as dumb as Uwe Boll movies if not dumber (which I think is pretty hard to do).

Haha as much as I wanna argue about that because they can be pretty hard to listen to somtimes =P.. I see what you mean but I do disagree. Maybe try some of their softer songs (ATWA, Question, Lost in Hollywood)

Any of that whiney-emo bullshit. I haven't been in the states for a while, but before I left my hatred was tied between the ignorant pandering and general fucktardedness of Green Day and System Of a Down. I don't listen to popular music, since it tends to suck, generally speaking, so I'm mostly out-of-the-loop as to what is playing on the radio.

Anything that that god-awful rag the NME tries to pass off as "cutting-edge" or "pushing the limits". More often than not, it's a bunch of middle class wankers pissing about with a Casio keyboard (Foals, I'm looking at you).

EDIT

every peice of diahretic crap spewed out by Disney in their endless effort to make money off innocent little children who wouldn't know good music if it....did...something... it seems like they force every "star" that is on a show or in a movie on their channel to make an album.

Led Zeppelin. Aside from Stairway, I hate all their songs with a passion.

Nirvana, not bad but horribly overrated. Their silly grundge stole the spotlight from Jeff Buckley!

Rage Against the Machine: "The govorment sucks! All corporations are evil and suck! Fuck! Anarchy!"

It's not that in anymore (thank god, but I heard it's making a comeback) but I really hate the Prairie Grunge bands(Nickleback, Theory of a Deadman etc.)

I also... hate every Metallica song that isn't "Whiskey in the Jar", "Enter Sandman" or "Unforgiven".

I am also not remotely fond of Nirvana.

I won't even mention el'generico manufactoro Rap groups or Pop groups because I don't listen to the goddamn radio anymore. I still hate them though.

There's really only one band i could say i hate with a loathing passion, although they aren't *in* or *cool* now, they were back when I was in high school--Creed, anyone?

Of the in and now bands: The Pussycat Dolls

Because no matter how you try to dress it up, in the end it's still 5+ whores in whore-suits dancing like whores while pretending to hold a tune singing whore-ish words..etc.

Just the thought of them alone makes me irate.

Buckley rules. The irony of Nirvana is by popularising grunge into the mainstream, they wrote the genre's death-warrant. Once the grunge bands became a part of the big money machine they lost the purpose of their music, which was to strip back rock n' roll to a simpler, almost punk, aesthetic (with mad distortion skills) without the high-sales commerciality that they were in a sense attempting to resist (but not too hard).

I'm going to kill you. Well I can kind of see your point with Rage Against, they are rather hard to listen to due to their style, but Nirvana! Dude, who can't like them? Kurt Cobain is my second favorite man in the world.

As I recall the most all encompasing insult of all time goes something like...

"Fuck you, fuck your parents and fuck the bands you like!"

This thread is gonna start some lovely flame wars (see above post)

Feelin' that. Amen to you sir, and all others who so rightfully agree.

Coldplay (I LOATHE them), any British band that has "The" in the name of their band, Lily Allen, Scissor Sisters. Nickelback as well suck, especially as they are on the same record label the mighty Sepulchura used to be on: it's just uninspiring, just blue collar rock.

Buckley rules, as does his dad Tim, who was even greater ("Lorca", fuck, what an album!)
Soundgarden were better than Nirvana: "Superunknown" has more great tunes than you can shake a stick at. RAtM are a bit too faux-rellious for my liking: God, Morello has even written a song for Guitar Hero!

Rise Against, Rage Against the Machine (aside from Sleep Now in the Fire), and Nine Inch Nails. I just find them all to be so boring. I would put The Jonas Brothers, but I've managed to avoid listening to anything that they've played.

Then again I love Elliot Smith and Deathcab for Cutie, so my argument may be invalid.

Fall Out Boy - they yodel when they sing and ultimately they just wish they were Lifehouse (an earlier band)
Jet - the minute they ripped off Iggy Pop's Lust for Life... they were on my shit list

fall out boy just sux, we're not even sure they are singing words in one song

jet must die in a fire for trying to rip off the king of rock n' roll, yes kids Iggy is the king of rock n' roll not Elvis

as for Nickelback, i don't know if it's them or Celine Dion that make me more ashamed to be canadian :|

as for me i'll say disturbed cause they follow the whole "i'm talking rest fast and pretending to sing, now i'm talking faster, NOW I'M SHOUTING" bit that badly tries to impersonate Mike Patton and FNM

I would say the obvious decision (if this was 8 years ago) would be creed...but since we are talking about now i would have to say either nickelback or three days grace

Am i really the first one to say these two 'bands'.

1.Simple Plan

There music is simply repetitive, uninspiring they only make one point in each of there songs witch is to lock yourself in your room and cry all night.

2. Hanna Montana she has no real skill here songs are pretty much talking. The only why 9 year olds like that music is because of the beat.

Most hated-by-me popular band? Oh wow, is that ever easy. I even have a rant ready to articulate.

Radiohead. Not because they're the most horrible band ever--any rap "band" sounds far worse--but because most of their songs are really awful, and the few that aren't are completely ruined by the band's intolerably bad lead singer. I mean, no matter what the guy's saying, he sounds like a whiny toddler, a moaning teenager, and a squealing maniac all at the same time. I've never heard a voice that sounds as bad as his without computer modification. Add in the fact that the lyrics range from incomprehensible to incredibly disturbing, the occasionally interesting but usually repetitive and disharmonious instrumentation, and they're pretty hard to tolerate. What makes them really annoying, though, is the fact that just about everyone claims to love them and thinks their music is amazing and moving; it's amazingly bad, and makes me want to move completely out of earshot of it, but besides that I have no clue where they're coming from.

Alphavillain:
Coldplay (I LOATHE them)

I'd throw a fit over that statement, but that would correctly make me look like an idiot; and anyway I've heard it 324,765,832 times already, with similar amounts of explanation.

Oh wait, here's one I can whine about.

BallPtPenTheif:

Sorry, but I've heard this way too many times. Since when does music have to be offensive or have a clear message to be good? By this logic, you must also hate Beethoven. His music is far better than Coldplay's, of course, but I don't see your point. And what on earth is "bastard music"?

Naming just one band isn't enough, I love alternate metal so I define that as the only good type of music.

A few years ago I would of said Good Charlotte, but amazingly they have been improving. So I'll attack Simple Plan instead. They have not made any strides to improve their music at all, it's all the same crap over and over and they are laughing to the bank. It annoys me to no end, bunch of talentless whiners.

Simple Plan here, just don't like there music, image or message.

Even SOAD is decent in places to cover their crappy image, but Simple Plan just has the hardcore fans wank them and gives nothing back.
