When I first heard these guys I liked them, but after I listened to their other songs it occurred to me that all their songs sound the same. Also, the singer is nothing short of awful. |

Did you guys just read my mind? Like everyone else, I do hate emo and rap. Prepare yourselves for what I'm about to say.
Wait what? I don't get what you're saying. If you are saying other bands are hypocritical because there own songs have deep meaning and emotion in them, it's about how the meanings and aesthetics are conveyed. Watch emo music videos then watch The Wall and you'll see what I mean. |

Paperboy Posts: 17 Joined: 15 Jul 2008 | I honestly don't see why everyone hates Green Day so much, they're still good. If you look at the lyrics in detail and take the time to actually listen to them they're still a great band. And personally i don't hate Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance or Panic! At The Disco, although their new albumn is aweful but i can see why other people don't like them. i totally agree with Enter Shikari, i hate them and i think if you have to pick on on bands that aren't that bad, have a listen to the radio for an hour or so, now thats shit. eg, Timbaland, Pussy Cat Dolls, Rhianna, and any other love songs by crappy female artists. (urgh amy whinehouse *shudders*) |

Paperboy Posts: 12 Joined: 15 Jul 2008 | Any emo/goth bands, not only is there music shambolic but the fans who defend them saying that their counter culture and labelling anyone else a sheep brained norm who dress the same and listen to the same music. Does anyone else see the irony in this? All these so called indie bands that should just change there names to The Artic Libertines. All rap All x factor/american idol and such like unoriginal manufactuered carp. They need shooting or simon bloody cowell will end becoming the all powerful unquestionable ruler of the universe |

I know, I just wish they weren't. Makes me die a little inside to know such an amazing band went to such levels of crapdom. Also, I forgot this one in my previous posts. How in the name of all that is good and just can anyone even come close to liking the "music" of Insane Clown Posse? That is honestly one of the worst....freaking, absolute worst bands/groups of all time. Though it has yet to be conclusively proved through scientific research, it is my theory that for every ICP song you are forced to listen to you lose about the same amount of brain cells as you would if you took a hammer and struck yourself in the forehead five times. Very hard. Like, breaking of bone hard. |

Anyone who can't handle being famous and richer than the Queen needs to be dug up and killed again. Anyone who is a millionaire but doesn't bathe or wash his hair needs to be dug up and killed again. Sorry, Dude. Truth is harsh. EDIT: Since I actually half-like Nirvana (just not Cobain), I'll say Nickelback. And Pink Floyd; I had to listen to that shit in high school. Yes, I get it: you're high. Big deal, everyone I know is high. People who can't even read are high. It's really nothing to brag about. |
Paperboy Posts: 17 Joined: 15 Jul 2008 | Oh god i hate pink floyd. My dad had his albumn on repeat in the car all the way from adelaide to darwin, and i hated it at the begining of the trip, i can't stand listening to it now. aweful. And yes i agree with anyone dissing rap and/or remix's especially when they ruin perfectly good songs or make bad songs even worse. |

Paperboy Posts: 17 Joined: 15 Jul 2008 | I think the only way you can enjoy pink floyd is to be high, and even then, it'd be really hard. |

"Orange Crush" not a famous one? That's one of their MOST famous, the only more famous songs are "Its the End of the World" and "Losing my Religion". |

Actually, they're neither. They're shit. :) I agree with MCR (ya rly), Fall Out Boy, Panic at the Disco, Paramore...as for Dragonforce, they're entertaining to listen to every now and then, but I hate when people think they have much actual musical talent; their live act is awful. Dream Theater has done everything that Dragonforce has done better and with more skill, even if their vocalist is a tad weak sometimes. Also, Avenged Sevenfold, and System of a Down's first album, as well as some of their later stuff, because they try too hard to be controversial and forget to spend time on the music. When they focus on the music, though, they're great.
agreed here too. |

Copy Clerk Posts: 124 Joined: 19 Mar 2008 | Hawthorne Heights is the most average sounding lame band I've ever heard as a matter of fact all of those tight pants haircut bands can totally suck it. I think it's also pretty funny that all the teenage geeks that listen to this kind of music are so proud of themselves for being so different when they all dress exactly the same with the same haircut. They are no different from hairhoppers in the 50s, except lamer. |
Copy Clerk Posts: 101 Joined: 23 Apr 2008 | Nine Inch Nails To be fair, he's a good musician, programmer and producer. Similarly, he puts together what looks like a good live show... although that gets a lot easier when you've got huge financial backing... My distain, I think, starts with some of the antics of those live shows; smashing instruments. I know many bands have done it, but I have a fetishistic appreciation for analog and digital music electronics and seeing smashed keyboards makes me see red. It strikes me as a extremely distasteful celebration of 'consumer culture' and gluttony - smashing a $1500 nord lead that someone would have treated right and cherished for years. It's wasteful and a tired aspect of stage theatrics. My second baleful glare is directed towards the more rabid members of his fan base (something that isn't technically his fault). One need not linger in their presence to hear their gushing praise of Trent Reznor's genius dribble from their slack jawed gob like the flacid, quivering anus of an incontinent. Genius, they call him? I suppose this is a semantic argument, but I would say that if you want to see the geniuses who have influenced electronic music, look to people like Miller Puckette, Robert Moog, Iannis Xenakis, Nicola Tesla, Joseph Fourier, Karlheinz Stockhausen - THOSE are geniuses. Trent set out to be a rockstar and succeeded, good on him... but a GENIUS that does not make... |

I hear it too! i thought i was the only one. i cant really judge the band seeing as ive only heard one song, but i do definitely hear that pokemon song in there. |
Beat Writer Posts: 186 Joined: 2 Apr 2008 | Ok ICP isn't music but the lyrics can be pretty funny sometimes. Like mad proffesor when the wrecker guy comes in and it takes like five hits with a frying pan to knock him out. The frying pan sound is hilarious. I can't stand women singers though. I don't know what it is but I just don't like them. I think it's a mix of the I'm so sad stuff and the sound of their voices I just don't like them. I also hate it when country rips apart good rock songs like "lips of an angel" and "I wanna be a rock star". Those are some good songs but then country comes along with their nasaly voices and high pitched voice inflections and they try to sing them and the cowboys and cowgirls think those songs are awesome when in all reality they are the bane of this earth. |

What's up with all the female country singers looking alike? My wife was flipping through the channels and found some sort of country music awards show, and probably two-thirds of the females (in my admittedly short sample, but She Who Must Be Obeyed says this is true throughout country music right now) have short, bleached blond hair and look pretty much the same. It's like some weird Stepford production. |

Paperboy Posts: 16 Joined: 1 May 2008 | I guess I have to say that, of the mainstream bands, I really, REALLY, REALLY F**KING HATE Paramore. All my friends are really into them, and one of my friends went to go see them in concert, and I asked her how they were and she went on this rant about how great they are. *gag* I'm honestly sure there are other "cool" bands that I just can't stand (since I actually do like My Chemical Romance... er... "Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge" only -- their first CD freaking SUCKS), but since I don't really listen to many popular bands frequently (as proof, my current favorite band is the GazettE), I really couldn't say what they are. Oh yeah, does Hinder count? All their songs sound the same to me. Same with Nickelback. Though I do like two Nickelback songs (Rock Star and If Everyone Cared), they're all in the same key, with basically the same chord progression, Kroeger's voice is bloody annoying, and the music is samey, boring, and unoriginal. Geez, I keep editing this. I also don't like Green Day's American Idiot CD all that much, but I honestly can't say I hate them because before American Idiot they were freaking great. And if you count Stop Drop and Roll, their side project CD under the name Foxboro Hot Tubs, they're one of my favorite bands (but only as the Foxboro Hot Tubs. Green Day under that name can not possibly live up to the awesomeness of their side project). |
