The chick gave him the monkey and sarcastically said 'he could be your son'. And Indy swung from his whip in much the same way. It was a joke people, and it wasn't THAT bad. Lighten up -_-
lol, never realised.
The probability is even higher since (not sure if you're aware) the chick from Indy 1 is the also the old hag from Indy 4. |

As for Indy 4, I've seen the other three and frankly, I don't give a shit.Sure, the aliens ending was far-fetched but the CGI-Saucer scene still had some "EPIC" left.I liked it and I'm not going to bitch just because it's different to the original trilogy.
that's the thing tho it's not different if you actually look at it it's a lot of the same stuff |

he swung across pits etc, not from sodding vine to vine like tarzan though. The previous Indy films didn't try and push the willing suspension of disbelief too far, there was a core of realism around the fantastical judeo-christian artifacts. Indy 4 just went too far with it. |

FranicalFrazical: I have read/heard alot about the anger over the new Indy Jones film...and I have to say whats the problem?
Theres people complaining about every little thing in that film like the Lead Fridge and Swinging with Monkeys...well if a guy can rip out your heart and set it on fire while you are still "alive" or drinking from the "poorly chosen" chalice you age faster than a fly or Ghosts inhabit the Ark and do crazy ass shit to Nazis I very much think thats just as believeable...
Others point out that the whole BLANK theme is stupid well its the 1950's and BLANKS were a big thing to talk about then...
Yes I know Speilberg was gettin lazy but remember hes also gettin old (how else could you explain AI?)
Indiana Jones was meant for 12 year old boys, it had action and comedy, the best things you could offer to a 12yr old, so cut the..."Oh its not the Fourth Indiana Jones film because its all about BLANKS and not religion in some way or another... Its still just as funny and fast paced as the others...plus its hell of alot better than Temple of Doom
Well from all the things you said, those sound way more interesting than a tired alien concept, and an army of bad CGI Monkeys, Ants that don't even eat people (all they did was crawl on you and then OH LORD, I NOW HAV TO GET ON THE FLOOR AND BE COVERED IN THESE ANTS! BAH!) - and the half "Deus Ex Machina" type ending, only reason I say "half" is because it didn't pull off anything like "it was all a dream" - still, if you've seen the movie you know what I'm talking about. |

It was just barley over the top action, crazy twisty plot with A LOT of artistic license, and a cheezy love story. And that's probably how it should be. |

Beat Writer Posts: 158 Joined: 4 Feb 2008 | The problem was that the story was one of the worst I've ever seen. One could see 3-4 different unfinished plotlines in the movie, but no well developed story. Mostly they were just fighting in the jungle for no good reason.
And the ending - I could have accepted aliens and I think others could have too, if only it came as a surprise. The reasons why the ending sucked so bad was because it wasn't surprising, and because it didn't solve any riddle. You didn't go "oh, so *that* was what it was!". In the very start of the movie you get the idea that Jones&friends are looking for aliens, a hypothesis which is strengthened as the movie progresses, and then in the end you find that you were right. That's really unimpressive scriptwriting. |
