Paperboy Posts: 12 Joined: 29 May 2008 | Something something blabbering idiot. (I came here for the Yahtzee reviews, but some of the forum topics were interesting, so I signed in. No blabbering idiocy for me. Much, anyway) (I'm also 22. W00t?) |
Anonymous Source Posts: 5 Joined: 23 Jul 2008 | Ah... Didn't know how much some of the people here cared for formalities. Last forum I attempted to sign up for had a two-month waiting list to be 'officially' registered, so I'm still a little stuck in the mindset that a new user coming in was a big deal. But yes, I'll take a look around, see if any of the other threads catch my fancy. |

So I must digress. As I was mentioning earlier, I do believe that most Shakespearian tragedies are a form of the writers own past experience with the death of his son. Although some, do take up a lot of similarities to past Greek plays and philosophers text. How would interpret this my good man? |
Beat Writer Posts: 192 Joined: 12 Jun 2008 | Indeed! I most heartily disagree good sir! My opine is one of the fervent, tragedy that was Shakespeare's entire life! NOT just that of his son. His friend and fellow bard, you recall, went by the name of Marlowe. This man was killed in a bar brawl knife fight, and had his bountiful works whipped from under his cold, dead corpse! Now he is surely one who is much more deserved of such lofty attention! However I must also point out with regret that it is the modern trend to see the intrinsic beauty of Shakespeare's TRUE works being hastily gripped by ruffians who can barely string a sentence together mentally, let alone vocally! Now, in MY day.... |

Do we? I couldn't find it. If we don't what do you all think about an official "Hi, I am new here." thread? Anyway, welcome to the forums, man. We have some topics worth reviewing for new users. Posting Guidelines: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.50823 |

Most Intro threads usually inflate with one newby introducing themselves and 100 people just replying, then bickering, then fighting, the "BAN!". |
Infamous Scribbler Posts: 665 Joined: 26 Mar 2008 | And to think I clicked on this thread thinking it would turn out to be The Devil. A bit of a let-down. "Please allow me to introduce myself I'm a man of wealth and taste..." |

Hopefully you will stay with us for a long time and become an important part of the community, instead of leaving just when people start to recognise your face. Speaking of faces, you should get yourself an avatar so that we can recognise your posts. And buy an Escapist T-shirt, show your loyalty. |

So I've been lurking around this website for a little while now after a friend of mine sent me a link to Yahtzee's console rundown. Even checked out some of the forum discussions, some of which seemed pretty interesting. Today, I finally decided to register that I may actually post in one or two of the topics.
But instead of diving in head-first and gibbering around like an idiot noone knows, I thought it would be more appropriate to introduce myself and see if I could get to know any of the forum-goers any better.
Anyway, I'm a 22-year old about to finish up college in Edinboro, PA, a nice little place in the snowbelt just south of Lake Erie. I'm mostly an FPS player, but every now and then I dabble in RPG's and even had a stint in real-time strategy. I'm also fortunate enough to have access to a lot of the better classic systems (NES, SNES, and Sega Genesis), an Xbox, and a PS2. I also do table-top gaming whenever I get the chance; used to be DnD before they came out with a new edition, now it's a lesser-known game called Dark Heresy.
So what about the rest of you? What kind of gaming preferences do some of you have?
Ah, and a cookie to whoever can guess where I got my name from. It's my favorite game of all time.
