... are stacked on top of each other I find to be annoying. I'm also use to having a quick reply and then a designated window for a lengthy reply. I'm just adjusting I guess. I'm a part of a lot forums that do a lot of things a lot of different ways. User was banned for: Atheism is HILARIOUS!. (3 days) |

(Sorry I had to quote tower it to illustrate my point) I like how they're fading these out now if the quote list gets too far in. On the forums: Actually it's not so much the forums as the site background picture off to the side. I also don't like when people quote an entire post just to focus on one line. Neither of these things annoy me enough to stay away. |

Agreed, I'm also used to having a signature. We just have a lonely avatar here. |
Beat Writer Posts: 150 Joined: 3 Apr 2008 | The archetypes. Theres the stereotypical obnoxious American guy on every forum(I'm American so don't jump down my throat) Who chimes in on every thread about how great his country is and has the geographical knowledge of a fucking twinkie. He's always accompanied by his arch-nemesis, snide stereotypcial english guy. Their battles often leave entire threads in flames. 13 year old tat spels lik shet. Gangsta posta who spells like dis. Poster with thinly veiled racism. Poster who will argue about ANYTHING! and Poster who thinks they're always right. Luckily I haven't run into any of these on this forum. |

I noticed that too, which is why I only quoted three separate words. Come to think of it, I do make great use of the live preview so I can see if I coded everything properly (bold, italics, images, etc).
Yeah, that's incredibly annoying. God bless people like me who isolate what they're responding to. =) User was banned for: Atheism is HILARIOUS!. (3 days) |

Hey now, if you don't think you're right, why post? Hmmm? I have a thing about kids. You see, i was a kid some time ago, and i didn't know how to use the internet. All i knew is if you clicked a certain icon on your Packard Bell CD_ROM thing, it would make a sound like a dying animal, and then beep, and- and-. . . well i usually just ran away crying by then. Anyway, now the internet is basically the center of all computer use, so legions of idiot-babies come crawling onto these here forums, leaving an oozing trail of bile, fanboyism, and surprisingly adept understanding of LOLcat. They're almost fluent. It's impressive. Aside from those whiny little scamps, a short list of "pet peeves": -The term "pet peeves." Christ it's like nails on a chalkboard. -User reviews that provide no criticism. (Bestest movie/game evarrr! <3 - more common in film reviews.) -People who quote Yahtzee. You are not Yahtzee, therefore you are not funny. -Anyone who likes the movie "V for Vendetta." (Oh shit. Wrong crowd for this one.) and, lastly! -People who haven't played Braid. If you haven't purchased it yet, get off the forums until you fix this. I'm not even kidding. |

Muckraker Posts: 267 Joined: 17 Jul 2008 | Luckily not in here, but I so hate signatures. Sure one line of text is fine, but on another forum I hang on, the sigs are made usually of 5 to 15 images, some of them large. The sig area becomes a scrollable which looks messy and ugly. People complaining about posts and not just enjoying them. I posted a poll about games, and the almost all the posts that started coming were complaints about how I "forgot" to put things in my poll, and putting in things that they didn't like. Ended up removing it. |

Where I'm from, images in signatures are disabled and there's a 255 character limit. Most people just have a link to a blog or last.fm or something similar if anything, so it's actually tolerable. User was banned for: Atheism is HILARIOUS!. (3 days) |

I also dislike European America-bashers. I am from Europe, have no special sympathy to the USA, but i think such posts are mostly low blows only to piss off Americans. |

...I haven't, don't even know what it is... I'm 15 so does that make it a bit better? Trolls, obviously People who use the "I'm not racist but" excuse or the "Survival of the fittest/whitest/prettiest" method of thinking, really annoying when they spew that drivel. Oh yeah 13 yr old "gangsta's" who go on with the "i'm gangsta and hav had heaps of sex wid da ladeez, u r gay" This is why I don't go on xbox live... shame me once... |

-Learn to spell -What if someone were to follow you to work every day and scream the same words over and over again directly into your face. How long before you wanted to shove your fist down said person's throat. -That's kind of the point of the review section champ. The fanboys who imply that they're not fanboys, but merely defending giant corporation 'x' from evil barbarians who won't give it a chance. Especially when said fanboys hijack good threads. People who respond to trolls. Trolls. Angry people who are angry about something that makes them angry. Also anyone who refers to their 'bile' which apparently is internet speak for "I am going to swear in this topic" |

It's... it's just a really good console! PRAISE IT DAMN YOU!!!! Actually, I don't like fanboys either. Every time I see one, part of me dies. It's like "Why do you care what other people think of what you're playing? Just shut up and enjoy what you've got." I don't find this happens here much, but it's also kind of annoying when people get into a debate or argument about whatever, and they stack their quotes over and over and over. Just quote the last relevant post. That's enough. Other than that, nothing really bugs me much. |

Infamous Scribbler Posts: 628 Joined: 11 Jul 2008 | Sure we all want well written readable posts, but it bugs me when someone feels that a small typo or a missed capital letter gets 'Well, coming from someone who types like that' levels of rudeness. Take it easy, everyone slips a key occasionally, so long as they're readable and not deliberately typing like an idiot, it really doesn't matter so much. The quote stacking can get out of hand, yes. Also, lists, its fine if you're adding some opinion, but just going '1. thingy 2. another thingy' doesn't make for a thrilling read. People who flatly won't back down, I hope that when I'm proven wrong, I'll either admit it change direction, or just shut up, but some people just hunt around for a new angle or just resort 'no u r' style retorts, I've given up on some threads because I just get the feeling that some people are not even reading anything, just blindly defending an opinion. I'm sure there's lots more. Having said this, I think these forum are by far the best I've ever used, with sensible open minded people in general, and the banhammer isn't swung too wildly, and borderline subjects are allowed it seems, as the users seem to have the maturity to handle the ideas., such as racism, sexism, etc. Hell, even the 'big tits in games' thread had a valid point to make, despite its title. |

What are some things on the forums that annoy you?
For me it's does guys that quote like the 2nd reply.Example.Say it is a topic about bad video games.A person replies"I love Bioshock" and than 15 posts later some guy says "I hate Bioshock"Than precedes to give a stupid or smart reason.Than he quotes the 2nd post and says"I just said Bioshock is stupid".
And please trolls, try not to act like idiots.Please.
