My friend has always had this fear of becoming noone; An average everyman who will be forgotten the moment he dies. He claims that he doesn't want to be a celebrity, just remembered. Thing is though, I just don't get him. I wouldn't wanna be famous, to me it doesn't seem that much fun becoming a registred trademark instead of a real person. (Depends what kind of celeb you become though)

Anyway,this got me thinking: Would you like to be famous? And in that case, why?

Yes, I would. Not as myself, but as Blayze. Then I can hopefully maintain some degree of personal anonymity. Ideally I'd like to be rich AND famous (Again, as Blayze) for the best of all worlds.

Well, that depends, will I have power along with this fame? If so then no. I would like to have power, but if I do I don't want people to know I have power. The best way to take over the earth would be to do it without anyone else realizing you're doing it. It would be cool to be famous, I guess. If I were like yahtzee or maddox or littlekuriboh so my name would be recognized across the internets that would be cool but I wouldn't want any real power to go with that. Otherwise people tend to demonize you and look for shortcomings.

I wouldn't. I'm quite a shy & private person & view fame as a curse.

If I got accidental hero status, like if I save a child from being mauled by an escaped Tiger, I would rather remain anonymous & keep my privacy.

Even if I was an evil dictator or King of the World, I would appoint a public puppet figure & rule from behind the scenes like The Wizard of Oz.

I'd love it at first, then probably get bored and be one of those celebs who flips out and punches someone from the paparazzi when the guy was trying to take a picture of me pissing or something. The problem with fame is that, in general, your life is slowly ripped apart by the media and blown out of proportion. I'd rather not live under a microscope, thanks.

I would prefer to be infamous, then I'll be remembered for longer.

Anyways I would hate being famous, I like my privacy.

Big as my ego is, I prefer anonymity. You can get away with much more when you don't have everyone's attention.

That's actually the main thing I'd like in life. Not really to be "famous" per-say, but to be remembered forever in history in a positive light somehow or way. Atleast, that's what I'd like to do most with my life.

I'd like to be remembered for a notable contribution to humanity, not necessarily for my good looks or my crappy movies and music.

I'd like to think I did something that made the world a better place, but not be known for it.

Because I'd get to enjoy the insufferable feeling of superiority celebrities enjoy, without having to do anything or explain myself.

Maybe the fame of a writer or a director, where your name is a household word but no-one knows what you look like... that way people won't necessarily bug you for an autograph in the grocery store, but you still get fan mail. There'd be stalkers, of course; but heck, even in my current less-than-famous status I've accrued one or two of the Interwebular type so that's a risk for anybody drawing attention to him/herself.

Only in name, I wouldn't ever want to be a huge celebrity where I'm hounded, my privacy is infringed, and where I "belong" to the public.

going by what people are famous nowadays I'd have to say no. Although if it were such the notoriety that one Tucker Max has got... for being a drunken asshole of a womaniser I wouldnt say no.
