I got another. I got a friend who for some reason has a massive fear of being alone. So I have to stay with here or she cries a lot.

So do I. At night sometimes I can't get to sleep because of it and I have to call a friend and talk to them for 20 mins or something.

I have a massive fear of heights and water more of drowning in water,I can't go out far into the ocean at beaches without another person really close and even then I tend to panic and breakdown. Also my fear of heights oddly makes me fearful of games with jumping segments as I get worried about even falling in the game.

Weird, I know.

Just clowns, there's something very wrong about them - needless to say, I found the Dark Knight a lot scarier than most.

That's not a phobia, Clowns are wrong on every level. Perfectly natural fear.

Glad you agree.
I've also known a lot of people scared of the idea of having cotton wool in their mouths. I have no idea where that one is coming from.

I think I know that, I have a similar reaction to cornflour. It drains all the moisture from the area and can cause overheating and respiratory problems. Basic fear of asphyxiation/smothering.

I wouldn't call it a phobia as it doesn't really scare me, but swimming in a lake or ocean where the seaweed extends all the way to the surface and brushes and tangles you bothers the shit out of me.

Hydrophobia is usually known as rabies. I think that's aquaphobia.

You must need a hell of a lot of vitamin pills. Or some seriously well-adjusted meat menus.

I don't have any crippling phobias. I'm not fond of spiders, but they don't really scare me either. Scared of dying sure, but that sort of comes with the territory when you're atheist.

Irrational fear of downwards escalators here. JUST downwards ones; I'm only a little tense on the upwards ones.

Flowering plants. I had helluva bad hay fever as a child. Even now I don't like being near them and God forbid I actually touch one. Only seems to be flowers, though. Grass, trees, ferns etc- no problem.

let me tell you guys a story about why im afraid of clowns, they just freak me out on
so many lvls, first i developed a fear of clowns when i was 5 or 6 years old,(bad experience at a circus)my dad, fully knowing my fear of clowns, decides it would be a good idea to scare me and make me watch the movie IT,(basically a scary movie about a clown that kills people, not scary by todays standards, but i was 5!) after watching this I was even more afraid of clowns, the next week was my birthday, my grandma, having knowledge of my fear of clowns, pays one to perform at my birthday, which is entirely screwed up, ive been freaked out by them ever sense, shows how much support your family can give huh? lol

Interesting! My fear of spiders is also apparent in games - I couldn't finish Call Of Juarez because at the end you're in a cave with lots of turantulas and it freaked me out to no end. I also came to a decision not to play Dark Messiah of Might and Magic once I saw a screenshot of the player fighting a giant spider... I can't stand looking at photos of them or seeing them in movies etc either

Don't play EQ1 or 2 then. The giant spiders crawling over the top of a hill nearly freaked me out.

Oh yeah! Friggin' jellyfish! Stinging floating amorphous semi-transparent bastards! When Memejoey mentioned spiders I immediately thought of a mate of mine who filled his pants on the Ops deck in System Shock 2 when confronted by Malick's 'surprise'. Then I thought of the psi reaver projections and how their combination of flying, immortality (until you find the corner the brain is hiding in), looking-like-a-jellyfish and ludicrously powerful psi blasts that could turn you inside out with two hits forced me to save my game on the bridge during my first play-through and continue in the morning.

When my brother was "babysitting" me when I was 8, he got me drunk and watched a scary clown movie with me XD
I've been terrified of them ever since, and had panic attacks for years after.
One came up to me when I was in spain, he was doing some kind of child entertainment show and he says, "Hello, would you like me to make you a balloon animal?" with this shit scary smile and a look in his eyes that said 'I'll murder you in your sleep'
I just stared at him, then screamed and ran away XD
Thankfully, my brohter's a bit older now and he doesn't make his kids watch scary movies. :P
I'm still scared of clowns though. DX

I have an irrational fear of having someone close to me dying. I swear, every time I think of one of my friends or close relatives dying I start hyperventilating and get really nauseous.\

I also have Necrophobia. Even being in the same house as a dead body freaks me the fuck out. I start sweating and choking and my mouth goes dry...It was fucking torture at my Grandmothers open casket thingy.

Crabs and Lobsters. Petrifying fear. Had it since a child.

And yes, Crustaceans, not STD's. :)

Never heard of someone getting 'Lobsters'

They're like crabs, but from Maine.

I have a fear that people are watching me, I guess.

Vitamins but not a lot. I'm pretty healthy or at least I look it although all I can eat is junk food and chicken (only meat I can eat). Pretty much every day of my life I'll have coco pops for breakfast, marmite sandwich for lunch, chicken nuggets and chips for dinner.

Oddly though I can drink just about anything so long as it doesn't have bits in it such as apple juice yet I can't eat an apple otherwise I vomit, I don't even like touching fruit or veg either otherwise I start feeling slightly ill.

It's highly embarassing to go in to a restaurant and order off the kids menu, even though I'm 15 I still get funny looks. I also went to a buffet before with a large variety of food and I had plate full of biscuits which gets you a lot of abuse from other people. It could be worse I guess.

Ya,Its amazing how even in a digital form phobias can effect us,But it is also why alot of psychologists will use digital versions of a phobia to help people overcome them. As it allows a safe way to confront them but also invokes the same feelings. I can not play any of the new Mario games or Platformer games because of my phobia. At times if a game has alot of like height segments I'll have a friend beat it for me.

Im afraid of aliens, but only when im in bed. The idea of rolling over and seeing some Grays just standing there next to my bed silently freaks me out.

But only if im laying in bed.
