What do you mean by libertarians watching people starve and hating charity?
What in the FUCK do you mean by the notion that voting for Obama says to the rest of the world that we want to be friends?
Yeah, I said it. Libertarians want everyone to do everything for themselves.
As far as Obama, voting for a black president would tell the rest of the world for once, we're not backing the old crusty white guy who's in bed with big oil. Is that too much to ask for once?
I edited my previous question about the libertarian charity thing.
You are a racist. The idea that you're going to vote for a candidate because of his skin color is one of the most ignorant and retarded things I've ever heard. I'll say the same thing I've said to every other guilty white liberal like you - BEING WHITE IS NOT A BAD THING YOU MORON. Obama is an anti-white racist and that is another reason I will not be voting for him. He brought his family to a radical black power anti-white church for over 20 years and only decided to stop because it was bad for his campaign. This is not the type of man I want as president.
I'm pretty much definitely not a racist. I just work things from a sociological standpoint. But if having a black president is just so fundamentally wrong to you, maybe you're racist.
Being called a racist doesn't settle well with me, and I bet it doesn't settle well with you either. So let's agree not to call each other simple minded slurs from now on, k?
Edit: Kudos on editing the stance on Libs, I don't go to everyone's home and ask them how stringent they are on party line issues, but I understand political standpoints in their basest forms.
P.S If you were to ask me what I stood for, I'd say a bit of a Trotskyist and socialist. I have a tendency to disagree with anyone on the far left or the far right on a myriad of ideals, and I'm well aware that the most under-represented people in the US are those who have middle of the road, grey area politics. We're the people who have voted for the lesser of 2 evils since voting was invented.
It wasn't a simple minded slur. It was a true statement. You said that you would vote for obama because he's black. I'm pretty sure that voting for someone based on their skin color is a racist thing to do - you favor one race over another (that's what racism is.) Nowhere did i say that having a black president was fundamentally wrong. I said that voting for a racist president who hates white people SIMPLY BECAUSE HE IS BLACK is a stupid thing to do.
Voting for a black president won't 'tell the world we're ready to be friends'. It will tell the world that we're so stupid we can't see through his constant lying and 180 degree stance flips that he makes during the flight from Texas to New York.

I'll put it another way then. I don't see anything in either candidate I want as far as their programs and goals. When nothing appeals between them I go for the next aspect, the thing they do when they're not doing anything. Represent us.
Say what you want about Bush's term in office, the results of his actions can be argued well on either standpoint. What no one can argue is that the man represents us poorly as a nation. He's smug when dealing with foreign affairs and touts an air of self-reliance amidst the rest of the world. The equally enlightened peoples of the EU like us much less now than they did 8 years ago. I'll blame this less on policy than I will our representation as a country.
Since when is Barack Obama, a man who is himself HALF-WHITE an anti-white racist? Does that mean that he hates his white mother and the white grandparents that raised him as a adolescent?
And since when does patriotism = good leader? I understand the value of having a guy who is into a country being its leader, but that doesn't mean that the crazy motherfucker at the July 4th parade walking around dressed up as Uncle Sam and Ronald Reagan at the same time is going to be a good Commander 'n' Chief.
Barack not wearing an American flag pin doesn't mean he's going to be a bad president by anymeans. It means that he doesn't thing the flag is going to match particularly well with the suit he's wearing today. Quit looking into small, miniscule things to attack with.

So you're saying that the best way to represent the majority is to elect a minority? That doesn't represent the majority at all. That represents the minority. You also mentioned that bush is a smug man when it comes to dealing with people - if this is a real beef with you, then Obama is not your man. Obama is all flash and dazzle and Mccain is more of a straight shooter. Elect Obama is your priority is to elect a slick talking politicians or simply a black person out of racism or, more commonly, empty headed liberal white guilt.
small town values are extremely important but being a community organizer, that has absolutely no importance in comparison. I mean what do they do besides getting kids off drugs.

Obama was an anti white racist ever since he joined Jeremiah Wright's church, a black power anti-white church and kept himself and his family there for 20 years. - if you've been paying any attention then I'm sure you've heard the sound clips.
Stop trying to ignore legitimate criticism - the flag lappel thing is not a huge deal in and of itself. The problem is that he refused to wear the pin, and then when he went down south for a speech he put it back on. This speaks volumes about the man's character - he has no values of his own, he only tells people what they want to hear. When in the face of adversity, he simply changes his stance, and when he does a complete 180 flip he won't do the right thing and admit he was wrong or that he changed his mind, he'll simply assert that the new position has always been his position, such as the lie he told on bill o reilly about 'repeating that he surge worked' He was not repeating it, he had never SAID it. That was the first time he ever acknowledged that the surge ever worked. He'll lie through his teeth and cater to the crowd.. In a room full of liberals? Take off the pin, you'll seem edgy! In a room full of conservatives? Put it back on, it'll make you seem edgy! In a room full of liberals? Tell everyone you're a universalist - a philosophy incompatible with christianity. IN a room full christians? Tell everyone you're a christian - a philosophy incompatible with universalism.

Fine, I'll put it even simpler. When faced with 2 candidates who's stances on issues don't appeal to you, vote PR. Just so happens the young black guy is the more charismatic of the 2. If I had to vote between John McCain and say, Al Sharpton... you'd be sending a better message to the world voting McCain.
What would be more appealing to me, is if people who are modern day philosophers would run for office again. Our founding fathers were philosophers, not politicians. They wrote books and stirred ideas. Politicians in the modern world are little more than economics majors with strong public speaking skills. We'd be better served with minds in office, people like Gore Vidal and Noam Chomsky.

legitimate argument? all your doing is judging Obama by people he is aquatinted with and not by his own character. I suggest you look at the issues and maybe youll realize that McCain will continue to drive this country down the wrong path and that only Obama has even begun to state what he is going to do to fix anything. this is so typical because all republicans do is insult Obama but than never say what their plan is. ( because that plan sucks and they know it )

and all of that is irrelevant. You're picking a president not a drinking buddy. Shouldn't you be focusing more on international diplomacy, fiscal policies, and job appointments? Even if Obama did hate white people (not likely) it's not like he could create some law that would enslave them.
I haven't heard anything from either of these Senators in terms of logistical details on how they plan to execute their ideas. But if you want to vote for the highest office in the land based upon rumors and character issues... go for it, most people do anyways.

It may be racist, but since they will be essentially both toothless tigers when it comes to policy, it's a far more wise thing to vote for Obama in the current global political climate than to pick McCain simply due to his PR superiority.
Mistah Kurtz: Did you know that a vast majority of black children are born out of wedlock? That's not a result of the white man keeping them down. It's a result of poor personal responsibility and a culture which glorifies that.

Finally, evidence of intelligent life forms still living in america
Obama might have a crazy pastor (all pastors are crazy to me) but I'd bet 10 bucks McCain shook Osama Bin Laden's hand at least once in the 80s. Old associations don't mean dick, or do they? Neither man has clean hands in that regard. I had a neighbor once who I used to party with, turned out he was a child molester and is now in prison. Does that bar me from running for office now?

Thank you. And it's not racist. Pointing out how a man is black isn't a crime last I checked. I mean BET isn't a channel devoted to Film Noir, is it? There's a difference between being culturally insensitive (which I probably am) and being racist (which I know I'm not)

Bristol Palin is black?
Everyone makes mistakes - at least Palin didn't sneak off and murder the baby like most people would have.

HAH! Better yet, find me a law that says you need to be married to have children. Only a moralist who believes you need to believe it their way would tell you unmarried parents are in any way unethical.
Eggo: It's more disturbing that McCain and his party is all about family values but he left his first wife like a little coward for a condiment heiress.
Lulz.
At least John Kerry married a condiment heiress on his first try.

It would make me question your character if you had gone to listen to your child molestor friend talk about molesting children for 2 hours every week, bringing your wife and child to listen to him speak about child molesting, and then defend said child molestor until your campaign was damaged. His pastor is not an old association, it's a lifelong association of mutual racism towards whites that kept them together, and only up until a few months ago did obama ever condemn his words. He must not have had that huge of a problem with him.

I dont see how McCain can have the nerve to say that he is the candidate for small towns when he wants to make Bushes tax cuts to the wealthiest 1 % permanent. thats not helping the the small towns he talks so much about is it?

OK, now you're just being retarded to astronomical proportions. You have a VERY, VERY thinly veiled way of telling people how wrong they are for not being just like you.

Since there hasn't ever been a black president, I'd say it's about time that that minority got representation in office of the president. And since when does the Republican party represent the majority? From what I've seen, they've been representing the top 1% of the economic spectrum, and that's all...
And since this is pissing me the fuck off, you fucking conservative dittohead: liberal is not a swear word. By definition, it means "a political philosophy based on belief in progress, the essential goodness of the human race, and the autonomy of the individual and standing for the protection of political and civil liberties". Liberal comes from the Latin root liber, meaning FREE. To use liberal as an epithet is akin to saying you dislike being free... which, coincidentally, is exactly what you get when you vote for the kind of people who use liberal as an epithet too: less freedom.
Now why don't you go back in front of your TV, turn on Fox News, and soak up how Rupert Murdoch wants you to think today... 'cause you sure as hell ain't thinkin' for yourself.
I'm pretty much definitely not a racist. I just work things from a sociological standpoint. But if having a black president is just so fundamentally wrong to you, maybe you're racist.
