I hope you're not talking about the dog. That would just be creepy. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 3544 Joined: 25 Jan 2008 | I tend to be a year behind on all things TV-Related because while I own a really nice system, I don't have it plugged into peasantvision, let alone paid cable or satellite. I buy shows It's not being unable to afford it, fuck I'm spending more on the DVDs than a full sat package, I just can't be bothered to keep to TV's schedule. I go home, make dinner, and sit down with my food hoping to watch an episode of House. I don't want to start the episode part-way through, I don't want to find out, oh, its not on so I must choose something else, and I sure as fuck don't want to watch 18 minutes of commercials for every 1hour time slot. In the end I also guess that the price for cable/sat does factor into why I don't have it... There's at most five or six show on the air that I have interest in, only four of them current with the others in re-runs. Is $25+ a month really worth possibly getting four new episodes a week, and on their scheduling to boot? Especially when $40 buys me a month's worth of DVD-TV I can watch when I choose. All that been said, I am dying for House Season 5 to finish and hit the shelves. House MD is my second most favorite show that's still in production, second only to Battlestar Galactia (reimagined), which is not only my top "on-air" show, but bumped Babylon 5 out for my most favorite show period. Terminator TSCC just recently had me hooked, fuck the damn writers strike, only 8 episodes in the first season because of it, and now I'm over a year out before I'll get to pick up more. This show has everything I could want... Action, humor, a proper connection to the movies, not to mention the love of my life (I wish), Summer Glau. More than anything, I can't wait to see how Terminator 4 and The Sarah Connor Chronicles work into eachother. Robot Chicken and South Park round out my current interests. Southpark has signed for a minimum of 15 seasons, so I get a steady stream of that show, and Comedy Central hosting them online (albeit in tiny-assed DS-Screen-O-Vision) means I actually get to stay current for that series. I'm not just sure that kick's ass, I'm HIV Positive. Robot Chicken on the other hand, there is just not enough of it to go around. Episodes are short, there aren't enough of them, and it takes forever to get on DVD, then only gives me about 3 days of meal-time watching. But I do love it, there really has never been a show like it before and I eagerly await Adult Swim getting it into their head how much RC rocks, and giving them full-hour episode time slots. |

Faimly guy just completely stopped being funny to me by the time Fox brought it back after being canceled. The earlier episodes in the series were actually clever and had a plot that it wasn't afraid to stick to. After the show got brought back, its just a bloody mess. I actually timed this on an episode once, and there was only seven minutes of actual plot in it. Everything else was meaningless jokes.' I do recommend that you try watching Battlestar Galactica if you get the chance. Its one of those shows that you really need to see every episode of to keep track of whats going on, though. Besides that, try watching Pushing Dasies and It's Always Sunny In Philidelphia while your at it. You'll truly see how crummy Family Guy has become after watching half-an-hour of Sunny. |

It's about a guy who can touch corpses and make them come alive to nly him temporarily, he investigates murders this way, it's fairly interesting and good choice on Lost and Heroes |

But when the wrap-up of Battlestar Galactica finally comes out, I will be crawling down the 'tubes to grab that torrent with my bare hands. I've been re-watching Seasons 1-3 + the miniseries pilot and Razor while at work, and I'm coming up on the last could episodes, and GODS DAMN I WANT THE REST! Between the writers strike, and the summer "nothing new but reality TV" season, and the knowledge I have 3+ months after the last episode airs before I see them on DVD, the wait is killing me. BSG Reimagined is the best SciFi of this new millenium, and they had better finish it off right or there will be holy fucking hell to pay. |

Has anyone here seen Inspector Rex? It's about a German Shepard (the dog species) that is a detective for the homicide. It's a series police drama with a dog as one of the main characters and it is one of the best television shows I have ever seen.
Behold the Linkage
I also enjoy the Simpsons/Futurama, the ABC (Australian Broadcasting Corperation) News (screw that comercial crap), South Park, Good Game, Top gear, Dr Who, The mighty Boosh, The Sharpe series, The Hornblower series, Wire in the Blood, The Chasers War on Everything and Margaret and David at the movies as well as many others I forgot to mention.
I'm also enjoy a bit of Dr Phil, usually the episodes with out of control kids.
