Hi

Just thought i would start a thread for any petrol heads or car junkies here. So what car(s) do you currently own (if any) and what would be your dream ride. Try to stick to real life vehicles, i dont mind if its a real vehicle with mods but no Nissan Micras with jet engines please.

I currently drive a 1992 2.0l mercedes 190e (with mods) which is pretty amazing for how cheap they are. But my dream car would be a 1957 Chevy with a full blown big block V8 as i just love that car to bits.

So whats yours?

I drive a '94 nissan pulsar Q....on gas...
yes im cheap

..
OK, dream car. Today the '63 Aston Martin DB4 series 5 convertable tickles my fancy.
I may go back the the v12 Vantage RS when should I pay attention to how impossible it is to get a series 5 DB4 convertable.

Current car: nil, too rich for my blood.

Dream car: A Tesla Roadster. I read about it in Wired last year, and saw one in action on, of all places, Xbox Live's "Major's Minute". Sweet, sweet ride, 0-60mph in 3.9s, looks hot enough to melt the pavement while standing still, and it's 100% electric. (And, alas, $100,000... so it's going to remain a dream, I think.)

Current car: 1997 Volkswagen Golf Mk3, 1.4L (60hp) in Tornado Red.

Dream car: Loads of them, actually -

TVR Cerbera, 4.2L V8
Lotus Esprit, turbocharged 2.2L I4 or later 3.5L V8
Lamborghini Countach, LP400, 4.0L V12
Ferrari 250 GTO, 3.0L V12
Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato, 3.7L I6
Jaguar E-Type, 3.8L I6

(BTW, the whole "I want a car that gets me from A to B" irritates me - I think of cars as far more than just transportation devices. I'm one of the Escapist's resident car nerds.)

I don't have a car, so I guess my dream car would be a car.

It would go 'vroom' and help me pick-up chicks. Who am I kidding, I don't need any help picking-up chicks! I'm awesome!

I drive an 07 Toyota Matrix, manual transmission, total basic package.

My dream car would have to be a T-Top convertable Corvette, anything ranging from 1993-2009, but a '93 Speedster, '06 ZR6, or the '08 ZR1 would be preferred. I'd say the ZR1 most of all.

It's around 8 inches, so it's long enough, but I'd really rather it were a little wider.

...what?

Oh, damn. I was thinking of something else...

Current car is a '93 Toyota Corolla Hatchback.

It broke down today actually. The fan belt broke, the radiator is shot and the water pump seized up.

Oh and I had coolant spray all over my windscreen.

That and it took an hour for the RAC guy to get there.

AND I have to get the CV joint fixed, oh boy.

Dream Car : Right now, within reason, a Mitsubishi Lancer.

I take it theres not alot of drivers or drivers to be on this site.

Not only that, but there are few Gearheads on this site as well...

Personally, I drive a 1992 Cadillac DeVille with a 4.9 liter Pushrod V-8. I just put a new deck in and she REALLY thumps now. Just for the hell of it, my friend and I had a race from a rolling start. (He has a 1991 Mitsubishi Eclipse, so I figured I would give him that advantage.) I was a car length ahead of him by the time he was maxing out his second gear.

I have personally reaffirmed my belief that there is no replacement for displacement.

I am hoping to fix it up and make it a show car. My girlfriend is a little hung up on the fact that I want to paint it Money Green Metal-flake. I think it will look incredible, but she isn't so sure...

My dream cars:

2003 Lotus Esprit
1971 Chevrolet Chevelle SS Malibu 454
2007 Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster

That is awesome. I used to want one of those as well... Then I went from Awesomeness to Speed as my main focus, so that dream kind of died... If you can get one, do it, just to make guys like me jealous.

I love the Veyron! I just wish it didn't cost $1.6 million (£800,000 or €1,100,000).

Not a BTR 80, but there is a warehouse about 20 miles from me that sells old Chieftain tanks, it's got a couple of VAB's and other APC's & armoured cars too. However, sadly it's not very practical for my budget, or the local roads.

EDIT: The idea was originally to have it fitted for quickly bolting on a speaker rig, so that the police have a rather hard time shutting things down at raves. Unfortunately, APC's being rather conspicuous vehicles I think I would become public enemy number 1 very quickly.
