It's a simple understanding we've reached with the rest of the world; America has the best movies and the worst television. |

It's terrible. Even if you never saw the original you couldn't find this crap funny. They completely missed the point that this show is Australian and only works in Australia. It's like someone put a Chinese kid with no knowledge of the English language in an advanced English course. He just wont work, and neither does this show. Not to mention the fact that they used cardboard characters. Honestly, cardboard could make better characters in this sitcom. Any American who saw Kath and Kim should download the Australian version and compare the two. I'm interested to see whether the Australian version is funny for Americans or if there is a big difference between us and our comedy tastes. |

Spot on. Ya see that I did there? .... Nevermind. Americas best shows so far are those that seem to be overly-racist. Eg. Chappelle Show, South Park. Anything else seems to fail miserably. |

To true. There's just this groan-worthy feel to Kath's daggy motherness and Kim's 'wannabe slut' characteristics. Neither of the American one's have these. The new Brett is a bit of an arse, instead of the dorky guy he was supposed to be. Shoot me! Let us die in each others arms Fire.

The Aussie Top Gear isn't that bad, it's just got exactly the same stuff that the original has. They need to work out their strong points on the small screen, and Top Gear Australia will be a highlight of my TV routine. Don't give up hope just yet. |

Given Top Gear had a decent chance of working (It's a great show, an Australian version would be great right? It was just pulled off shit.) And Kath and Kim is a context specific show... Its like cutting a mans arm off because he looked at you funny. |

What the hell America?! They just showed off there remake of Kath and Kim to Australia, which was like beating your dog to death with a baseball bat then parading it in your living room. The only similar things between the two was thee names and plot. That's it. That's all. They decided to rip out the charcaters, comedy, everything good and fill it with crap! The devil just made a new special place in hell for all those involved in making this happen. Kama will eventually hunt down those responsible and send them a one way ticket there.
For those who don't know, Kath and Kim is an Australian sitcom, a decent one at that. Perhaps the jokes may not extend to outside of Australia, but the quirky characters and subtle humour is great.
The American remake decided to go all out on 'witty' hard hitting lines (said in HUGE sarcasm) and alter the characters to... nothing. There was no characters at all, just Bland Person #1 and Bland Person #2. Gah. RAGE!
