Ouch my bad. Gonna have to look that one up now. |

I thought that the conceptualization of "Timeless River" (the black and white level) was outstanding in its creation, but wasn't long enough for me. 2) There were several times I thought the Final Fantasy attacks just weren't used to their fullest potential. The boss where you have to use Kain's Jump attack in KH 2 as a counter (except it was more like Nightcrawler's teleportation skills than a Jump attack) is a good example. 3) The addition of King Mickey to KH2 as a "saving throw" for the entire party during boss fights was fun, but he had a tendency to show up almost every time during my run-through, drastically reducing the game's difficulty. Did anybody else feel that way while playing? 4) Goofy and Donald need to go through a massive overhaul before KH 3. They need just a little more common sense. Goofy has a tendency to charge attackers (unless you give him the "do nothing" command, which he just stands there), and Donald will throw the same fire spell against a target completely immune until he runs out of MP. He is a little better if you put him in strictly healing/support mode, but it makes the ability to cast sudden spells against enemy weaknesses practically nil. 5) One complaint: did anyone ever really use any of the available summoned monsters? I mean, I used Bambi once when I was low on health, but that was it. |

It was way to long and you don't need a 2 hour long tutorial explaining minor changes from KH1. Sure it was to introduce Roxas but admit it you didn't buy KH2 to be Roxas, you brought it for Sora. |

Yep, when I see the prompt I mash on that button like there's no tomorrow. Especially during the Sephiroth fight. |

Hell yeah they were awesome! Only problem was that I couldn't get enough of the Anti-form, which led me to use Action Replay to get it on my drive menu. |

You just said it was Japan only, which it isn't. So what does how recent the announcement was made have anything to do with that? I also like how you spell "fucking" there. |

Its been out since march 07. I found it on torrent some time last year and checked up on it again some time this year. They only just announced it was coming out in the US as of 19/09/08. |

Many people would play KH2 without having played KH1. That's why the tutorial was so long. |

Paperboy Posts: 48 Joined: 11 Sep 2008 | Also a bit of a Kingdom Hearts fan myself, but your review is valid...from your point of view... Which brings me to my review of your review! This did not review Kingdom Hearts at all, but merely give a vague narrative of your day whilst playing Kingdom Hearts. Lines that begin with "And then I" or "Before I knew it" are a personal recount and what someone would write on their diary/blog rather than a review. People have mentioned your Yahtzee style, and I'm only going to criticise it in the basis that Yahtzee doesn't use a review style that suits words on a page. If you're writing a review, Yahtzee is not a good point of reference. The review loosely touched on gameplay and story and I felt I could have read the playguide for more information about whether I would have liked it or not. Sorry, it's harsh but hey. Also, and slightly harsher, don't mock Square Enix who have done more creative work with their franchises than you did with your un-creative review. |

At the risk of sounding unoriginal: In the first game, Sora pauses for a fraction of a second in between attacks. I can expect this in a Handheld game, but the combat didn't quite feel as well flowed and chained as the second game. Mind you, this is coming from someone who practises swordplay in his spare time. |

And why didn't they tell us in the intro about Chain of Memories? I haven't played that one so I didn't know why I don't have to kill everyone in the organization. |

Atthe end of CoM, Sora went into a pod to restore his memories of KH1, but he lost his memories from CoM, that was the whole point I'm guessing. |

Well, in terms of magic and balance, Ultima weapon is the best. Fenrir is 7 strength but 1 magic, so it's not really the "best" just the "strongest". If you play more for strength, then I guess it'd be the best for you. XD; But I rely heavily on curaga and having mp hastaga from the ultima weapon is a lifesaver when you're fighting those hard battles. I really liked KH2, but I really would've liked it to be more explorative like the first one. More fighting is awesome, and I'm all for it, but all the worlds just felt so much smaller. =\ but still one of my favourite games. The final boss battle was a doozy .. I don't know what it is with Square and having the bosses throw buildings at you .. it was fun, though! XD |

I DID! Well, I had to in KH2 because I wanted to unlock the hades paradox tournament, and you had to max out ALL your forms, including summon. It took FOREVER. I had to go into places with increasingly spawned enemies and use Genie's various forms a lot. That's about it, though. However! Gene's Master Form can do a lot of damage if you time it properly.

I did, it was no problem, easy if you know the combos ande can pull of the right attacks. |
Paperboy Posts: 28 Joined: 19 Oct 2008 | I agree with you about how KH2 is a much better improvement than the first game. I just have a few more complaints for it. The game seemed like it was on a much smaller scale than than KH1. In KH1 you had a lot of room for all your battles, in other words a large battle field. I also didn't like how the second game had been extremely dumbed so that so that clues weren't clues, it was more the game was saying, "This way! This way! Fucking this way jackass!" But overall it's still a good game. It's an interesting story with awsome gameplay. Absolutely worth picking up. |

You know, Yahtzee's not the only pessimistic son of a bitch out there in the world, theres a million people with that personality...plus, I have played some of the games Yahtzee's reviewed, and while I admit they are badly designed, they are fun to play.
