Along with great characters, and a wonderfully twisted sense of humor. Brutal Legend doesn't quite fit my taste, as I don't like a lot of heavy metal music. Tim Schafer hasn't let me down yet though, so I'm still optimistic that it will be fun. |

To this day CCP are not just one-off designers of a fanciful game (unlike their rivals!) but still maintain a wholesome relationship with their fans; from tournaments to TV. Great people constantly committed to a wonderful project. It is a shame that most of these votes - it appears - have just gone the way of Double Fine out of simple ignorance. Especially since people seem to be judging the company on their view of MMOs as a whole? Where the Hell is the sense in that? |

I think of the many other creations to come from the mind of Tim Schafer that have brought me hours upon hours of enjoyment in the past. Games that are imaginative, original, fun, and funny. Though he did work for a different studio to produce games such as Monkey Island, Grim Fandango, and Day of the Tentacle, his input and direction were core to them. I can only see good things from his continued presence as head of Double Fine. Much more so than CCP in my experience. |

As far as I can remember, I believed the theme of this event was based about teams of developers going against one another, rather than individuals - not matter how great they were in past lives? Perhaps you should have voted LucasArts. |

Most peoples understanding of Double Fine's and LucasArts productions is that Mr Schafer provides what makes the games good and therefor he is seen as more important as the studio. Also, Psychonauts is probably his most creative work ever. |

I also based my vote on a company I'm familiar with. Double Fine is just as devoted to their games as CCP (according to how you judge their devotion). I've also played the game made by Double Fine and enjoyed it immensely. The opinion about MMO's is my own; I don't remember anyone else stating that they agreed with me, so it isn't fair to automatically assume everyone's voting out of "ignorance." ;) (Edited due to renegade apostrophe.) |

Two people, each with but one post to their name, registered on the same date, apparently for no other purpose than to state agreement with an opinion that had previously been labelled as the view of the majority, but was in danger of being debunked due to the fact that only one person actually believed this. In addition, the first of the two posts features a person who posted at 5:03 AM on the 24th, then logged out around 5:11, exactly 1 minute before the second person posted. My apologies to you both if you're not actually sock/meat puppets, but dang. It's not looking good. |

Sorry, it's just Double Fine forum members who have registered to vote after they heard about the contest from Double Fine's home page. I'm also slightly guilty as charged, hahaha. |

Believe it or not, I'm not a puppet master. And my original post, if you care to read it, says: "MMO's aren't MY thing." Where did I label this as the majority view? Mountains, molehills, etc... ;) |

It still kicks the sorry arse out of Double Fine (imo), but only the ones who see why EvE is so great can understand that and unfortunately thats a small portion of gamers as a whole. Plus, yahtzee doesn't like MMOs but does like psychonaughts. +5000 votes from rabid fans. |

I plan on giving EVE a shot at some point, or at least go through the free trial. Maybe my WoW and Battle.net experiences won't be repeated. I don't hold much hope for that, but hey. And...I'm not quite sure what you're saying with the yahtzee thing. |

(6) CCP vs (14) Double Fine
CCP: Fans of White Wolf rejoice as they move through Climax and into the Second Round.
Double Fine: Tim Schafer and friends help to take down SEGA in the first round. Poor Sonic, better luck next year.
