(3) Bethesda vs. (7) Crytek:

Bethesda: Bethesda yet again shows its strength by taking down TimeGate in the Second Round. Can it keep the pressure on Crytek after coming off an upset win?
Crytek: Crytek had a quality upset over No. 2 seeded SCEA and continues onto its next confrontation with Bethesda Softworks in Round Three.

Crytek for me. Other than supporting zee Germans, Crytek has no record of pissing off longtime fans of a longliving franchise.

This was a tough choice for me. I try to be fair and look at the full picture here. Both of these developers are excellent in my book. Crytek gets hats off for constantly pushing the envelope of PC Gaming with their stunning graphics design and engine. Bethesda gets major kudo's for really elevating the RPG imo with Their recent "Oblivion" the game was amazingly well done.

I vote Bethesda this time.

Ya this is a tough one. However Bethesda have shown more consistency in good gaming and they really push the boat out more than Crytek. Crytek really holds its fame for good graphics and physics engines.

I voted for the developer that doesn't assume I have an infinite hardware budget.

Voted for Crytek.

Both developers have flaws, but, based on the last games released (the only criterion I feel safe to judge by): Crysis was really enjoyable for me, since my PC runs it, though i did not enjoy FarCry. I felt that Oblivion was too shallow (most missions amounting to 'kill x amount of monster y and return to lazy person z' or 'travel really far to pick up object x and return to person y') for my RPG tastes. Also as a massive, massive fanboy of Fallout (1 and 2, forgetting tactics) I am deeply concerned for the franchise - if the characters display the same depth as in Oblivion (with their 3 distinguishable voice actors...) then I will consider the once good name of Fallout to have been truly dragged through the mud. So I could not in good conscience vote for Bethseda until I've played FO3.

My vote goes to Bethesda. I don't think improving graphics to a point where you lock out a massive chunk of people from your game is something that should be encouraged.

Tough to call, very very tough. From a business point, I agree with njsykora, but this is about developers and I think Crytek took FPS to a new level with Crysis. Still one of my favorite games, I'll vote for Crytek.

Oblivion or Far Cry? No contest, Far Cry is nearly as over rated as Halo and until someone invents a PC to play Crysis then I will continue to ignore it. Oh, and Fallout 3! Bethesda all the way!

Bethesda by far. The entire Elder Scrolls series just stomps all over the Cry series for gameplay.

Bethesda. For Morrowind, not Oblivion. There's a good chance they might ruin Fallout, so I'll leave that out of this.

This is a difficult choice for me. I don't especially like either of these developers, yet I have a lot of respect for each. While both have done some very impressive work with their titles, I don't think an open-ended world makes for a good game (Todd Howard seems convinced it does) -- I had fun with Morrowind, but I could never tear myself away from the side-quests long enough to complete the main story-arc before I became bored with the game. Far Cry and Crysis are excellent games with which to test out high end computers, but the writing and gameplay left much to be desired.

My vote goes to Bethesda, though I'm sure I'll learn to hate them later as I'm convinced Fallout 3 is going to be terrible.

Bethesda. Better stories, deeper more complex worlds that don't merely show off the technical stuff. I voted for Crytek the first time around, but I had to go with Bethesda this time.

Tough call for me. I would have easily given it to early Bethesda, but I haven't been as impressed with them as of late.

I went with Crytek.

I've always been a TES Fan, but Crytek's games have great graphics and gameplay. However, i do not understand why people think of Oblivion as below-average. Sure, its not as good as Morrowind, but thats for a reason. The people of Cyrodiil are much more united and civilised than those in Morrowind, so of course there would be a large difference, such as the towns not having much of a difference. In Morrowind, different towns are mostly under the influence and control of one of the Great Houses or the Imperials, in Cyrodiil its totally Imperial control.
However, the best and greatest thing about the TES series is, of course, the TES Construction set. It is simple to use and once one has learnt to use it, he can, by himself, fix most if not all of the problems or flaws that he finds with the game, making it suit his own taste. If you're on the PC, you can even download great mods from other people, and the game is endless. Also the games don't end with a credits, you can still continue playing your character. Also, despite this being the first Fallout game Bethesda is going to release, i have faith that they won't make it badly, its probably the "Oblivion with guns" quote that has led people to thinking that, and i still don't understand whats so bad about Oblivion, don't like the fast travelling system? Then don't use it, its optional! Many people have said this on the official forums but some people just seem irritated by its prescence.

Both Farcry and Crysis had great graphics, each one of them being the best graphics I've seen during the generation which each one of them were released, now I believe Crysis still has the highest graphics. The gameplay is also rather good. However, i don't really like FPSs since they tend to end rather quickly.

I would vote Bethesda, but i think I'm too late as i couldn't find the voting circle thingy after i registered, it was still there when i was reading the forums before i decided to register.

What Oblivion did you play? The large majority of the major faction quests (Fighters, Mages, Thieves, Dark Brotherhood) were nothing like that. Seriously, go back to watching Zero Punctuation and leave the discussion to people who know what they're talking about. Thanks.

Of course my vote went to Bethesda; I really enjoyed Crysis but nothing beats a beautiful 90%-true open-ended world to explore for me. Role on Far Cry 2; word is it might well replicate this feel in a much better way :)

Morrowind better than Oblivion? No way, ive played morrowind before and was not fully impressed. With Oblivion its the opposite i grow more fond of Oblivion every day I play it.
To the point, crytek did a good job with the farcrys, FPS's are some of my favorite games of all time.

My vote has to go to Bethesda with the most realistic games ive ever seen.
