Ah, communism, i feel that it goes against our natural humanity, while i would hope that UNITY would encourage trust, i am not some brainwashing overlord, and cannot alter the basic instincts of my fellow Escapists. "By all escapists for all escapists". for anything to be for all escapists, you must first remove those for whom it is not for! only one topic could possibly be agreed upon by all escapists; and that is that no-one likes a troll. you plan to make your party for all escapists, and to unify them, but this is neither wise nor possible. The ongoing debates among sub-communities of escapists (e.g. the disputes among Half-life fans and Halo fans) means that you would have to simultaneously agree with both sides. this would mean that you have either lied to one, or you have just promised something that is realistically unachievable without dispensing bans to wipe out one party in the forum equivalent of political executions. I also notice that you did not actually make any definitive statement as to how a unified escapist would still allow ratonal, multi-sided discussions to take place. unless your response is that it would be a list of one-sided arguments where everyone agrees to the OP ("Yes, because thats what i'm saying UNITY is..." after I posted that last sentence in my previous post seems to indicate that). oh yes, and one other thing, if it's "by all escapists and for all escapists", then am I not an escapist? |

How tempting, its a wonder people don't just flock to you...
Simple, apply for aid and enforce restrictions as a first step. Begin construction of pre-made desalination plants purchased from other nations to relieve danger to citizens (current advances make them much more appealing than a sensationalist media would have you believe). After that more environmentally solutions would be sought, our current water system overhauled and repaired (for such a base need, expense is somewhat lessened as a concern) and once the crisis was abated, steps taken to discover and combat the cause of the shortage. Easily solved in the three steps of any crisis, Contain, Solve, Prevent recursion. UNITY '08, United and safe, protect the Escapist, uphold and better it! |
