I say that every site requires advertising of some sort, unless it is being funded from another source. Yes, the Escapist has the magazine, but that funds the magazine and not the site. Even Google has adverts, and they are one of the richest (read: pimped out) companies in the world. Plus, these banner ads are proof that this site is popular. If it was not, we would be putting banner ads on their sites! The fact that they came to us is assurance that we are as popular as we need to be. We took them under our wing, with their sparkly teeth and shaky dinosaurs. We helped them get hits, and as such, we were paid for our trouble. This funds the site, and keeps these forums up and running. Without staff, these forums would collapse, without the maintenance needed to keep them state-of-the-art and bug free. Also, we do not need a boost to our popularity, nor do we need a boost to our fame. If we were as well known as some less-than-reputable forums, we would be flooded with morons and fools, and the banhammer cannot be swung infinitely - some people would get through, and would be posting lolcats and turning this glorious site into a mess of incoherent spelling, trolling and flaming. Dare I say it, these forums would turn into the darkest mess of such abominations as the dreaded 4Chan! The very 4Chan, might I add, that John Galt has backed, with a song mourning its loss of popularity being his theme song, and just one page ago, openly stating that he wants a '4Chan style' twist to these forums. We do not want that. We do not want such terrible things to happen. We know what we want. And we want SDP. |

Official Response #5: Well, As revered as MGG=REVIEWS is on this site, I think we would open a special forum specifically for him to do his rants and reviews. I know many of you feel that his trolling and incompetence with the English language make him a bane to the Escapist, but in reality, he serves an essential function. I, for one, joined the Escapist RP section because of some of the more famous troll slayings, specifically the great GEMS battle, in which I was forced to destroy the thread with the Research Center II to prevent the infection of the rest of the forum with his evil. I am less worried about the reformed Troll MGG than I am worried about the insidious GEMS and his Pokemon forum Troll friends. MGG will be a respected member of this forum at some point, and I for one would like to give him that chance as he has improved his writing skill dramatically in his time here. Also, just to show off, my pictures have ALL been done on a combination of MS Paint and Paint.net. Although, the whole idea of the poster was pretty bad anyway... |

No, as I think most images have been made using MS paint, including mine, even way back when I was ULTRA JOE's head picture person. It albeit takes more skill, but you can make some pretty impressive posters on that medium. Also...
Despite being in a different party, I wholeheartedly agree with this statement. MGG, could become a respected reviewer, we already seen significant improvement. He isnt one of those one post review trolls who get critisism and run off, he genuinely tries to improve his reviews. |

For my answer, I assume that Moogly Googly Great is a person. He (or she) has the the same place as everyone else in the Escapist as everyone else. When the SDP take charge they shall be given a platform from which to start. They will have a swimming pool, 401K (and a supercar if they vote for us) to do with what they will, as long as they don't cause trouble.
The above answer is invalid if Darth Mobius has already, or will, provide an alternative answer.
