Yeah, you were looking for off-topic form. Also, there is such a thing as an IP ban. Where no posting is allowed from that internet address. So yeah, they do do something.

The point is to warn people what they are doing is not acceptable, so they stop doing it. If they persist, the little seen Perma-banhammer gets brought out and employed. The IP ban stops people from simply creating a new profile and starting again.

I find it very ironic that you on probation.

Also if you really want to go through all of the trouble of going round an IP-ban, then just try to restrain yourself, and don't get banned.
And not that the rules are strict here, it's just that the rules that we do have are strictly enforced.

1) I.P bans also prevent you posting on a new profile. Or any existing profile. So if you got through all the effort of changing you IP address just to post on this site, then well, there's not much that can be done.

I don't thiink you actually looked at what I posted before it poofed since you say that, because I didn't do any piracy at all, the topic just linked to some news articles and google, nothing more. Certainly nothing illegal!

I was trying to avoid mentioning IPs but since the kittins out of the bag, think about what pr* may stand for (I'm not going to say the word cos it will give the ignorant who would not normally know about such things ideas), there are billions of public ones and very cheap private ones that are impossible to see as anything out of the ordinary *shrug*

I guess it's just aimed mostly at dealing with the 12yr old boy population when they come here after school ;)
