Commenting that you kill black people all game long as a white person is hardly the main goal of the leftist agenda -- I'm pretty sure O'Reilly could see the same point. And for someone outside of the US, I'm not taken aback when they criticize the US in some way. No one should expect people of other countries to love their country as much as they do, and especially not when we've had the attitude of, "We don't give a shit about what you think," for the past 8 years. Maybe after China becomes the new world Super Power Australians and Americans can join hands in making sneering comments about the Asian Imperialists. As far as, "This is the First ZP I haven't laughed at," is concerned, I think that they've actually all been very consistent, and fresh. It's just hard to recapture the brutal awesomeness of, say, the BioShock review -- but there's really nothing wrong with that. I tune into ZP every week more for witty insight into gaming. Yappy Plastic Dogs, point and click sniper adventure gaming... |

He's being a bit hypocritical, through the fact that he absolutely loved COD4, which revolutionized...what, exactly? You could say Uncharted basically improved on all the games included in that mashup diagram; it added more free movement to Gears of War, it put better combat in Prince of Persia, and it ran far better than Far Cry. |

that's... kind of... sad. Not saying that as an argument against that statement, just saying it has sad implications, if one takes it to be true... Anyway, it was indeed cool to see the face in video, while talking, but my brain still refuses to associate the face with the voice! weird. |

I've seen reviews of Drake's Fortune on Play Digital, and Good Game (It is Australia's ONLY game show...On TV) and they more or less gave it a great review, this is why I watch ZP, Because it shows us things the other review shows won't show us... And making it funny. But on to why I made an Account to post. Yahtzee = Hot. P.S. Remind me to hurt you for making me read everything in super fast motion like the way you talk... but that could also be the Gilmore Girls. |

B."Y".C. i didnt laugh like a retard at this one, but it was an exquisite review none the less. keep up the good work. *Edit* I wanted to add that the realistic wet shirt is important to me also. From what I've heard, water effects can be particularly hard to pull of in a realistic manner. So a shirt that looks as if it has gotten wet just like it would in the real world is something that I think helps a game. Considering what you've said though, perhaps they should have spent more time on the game play, instead of ironing out the wet t-shirt of the main character. |

Wyatt With lunix on the PS3 it can open a few doors...but its too soon to say if sony wont get all sue happy on modders yet. I hope within 3 years the PS3 community can make a cheat system off the lunix side to inject code into games if no company will bother making a cheat device for it, I can't stand crappy and mediocre titles anymore... |
Paperboy Posts: 17 Joined: 5 Dec 2007 | Whilst it was an awesome review, I'm more interested in knowing if there were bloopers, like Yahtzee getting hit on the head with the bottle... "Ach! You did that on purpose, you cock!" I wonder how often he messes a line up (If ever) and ends up getting tongue tied.. (One can dream..) As to Uncharted, it ripping off the movies and games all listed was probably the intention. Sort of a parody, homage, nod-towards, reference & blatant rehash from all of those sources. |

It's a common technique used for the subconscious barrier we erect between People Who Do Sound like Us, and People who Don't Sound Like Us. I am sad I didn't get to kill the Brit though, mostly because I enjoyed the game and I enjoyed that character and I will forever maintain that Brits make the best villains. I don't know what it is, but their attitude of superiority makes them well-cut-out for a life of villainy I guess. If there are any Brits out there reading this, know I mean that in the best possible way. Really. |

Half of the features you listed for the PC could be available on a budget PC. The cost of upgrading that same budget PC to a gaming PC is, most likely, more expensive even than the PS3. I'm a PC gamer myself, but I didn't like your reasoning or your lazy duck analogy. |

not really with 2GB of ram being under 80$ you can build a PC that can do new games on medium high for 400-500$ its consoles that are imodable, no control options, locked media options the only thing they lack is favor by the industry because its format is too open. |

ill point out the anti-logic you are using here by saying that for the same $600 you piss away on a PS3 you can buy a computer that will play the same games that PS3 will with about equill graphics (now today that is) i can build a PC for $600 that has atleast the same 'power' as PS3 and that PC wont be limited to JUST games. now i will say a top of the line Nvidia card is about the same price as a PS3 and thats not counting the other $1000 ish you need to spend to actualy get a working computer, the chip the Mobo, the RAM, etc. for a 'top of the line' gaming PC. but given taht software is allways a year or better behind the hardware its foolish to chase your tail keeping upgraded to the very tip-top pointy end of the hardware 'cycles' but the two points im making is that 1) PC do about a billion things a console never will so the cash spent is actualy spent ON something of more use than simply playing games. and 2) PC will allways be better gaming machines than consoles untill they make a console upgradable (hardware wise) like a PC. meaning you dont get stuck with 2 or 3 year old hardware for the entire console 'cycle'. i mean usualy by the time a console is "finished" and ready to be shiped its hardware is allready atleast 1 'cycle' out of date in comparison to a PCs abilitys. on the up side though, a console is much MUCH more easy to develope for (usualy though there was alot of issues with the PS3s development system from what ive read) since all the hardware is the same even if it is out of date, and as i found out the hard way after having spent way to much cash on an alienware computer it can take ages for software to actualy catch up with the hardware. my computer is about 2 years old and its just NOW getting games made that can take advantage of its hardware. i poped a chubby about buying a dual core (and of course quad core chips came out about 30 seconds after i settled on the dual core) chip only to find that ive spent most of the last 2 years having to disable one core to even get most games to lode. in my opinion though if im gunna spend alot of cash im gunna spend it on a PC not a console since PC do more than play games. and even if ALL you did with your PC was play games your still much better of with a PC than a console due to upgradable issues. like i said there is nothing actualy wrong with consoles other than the price, for $600 i expect not only the console but atleast a free year full of visits by hookers. knock that baby down too the $200ish price range and id prolly own one. any more than that and its better over all just to get a PC and get other things out of your hardware besides games. and zippy whats your obsession with being able to cheat? cheating in a game is like being in the special olympics ............ well you know the rest :) |

As for the review, brialliant as always, with his very own random quick time event YAY! Ah, Soul Calibur and all the Resident Evil games come to mind. Honestly, I thought Uncharted was an excellet game. Funny, wonderfully saracstic dialogue and a fondu-cheezy plot that made me squeal in happieness along with intuitive gameplay, great characters and wonderful graphics. But as I said, I'm very easily pleased by any attempts at game/storyline. And I still loved the review, and how true the racism bit was, the sudden realisation bruning away at me. Now I feel guilty :( |

The nice thing about a console is that developers make games that run on my machine instead of forcing me to make my machine run the game. |
Paperboy Posts: 11 Joined: 24 Jan 2008 | Great review, i loved that game so i was really happy when i saw the title of this week's review! Yahtzee really caught me off guard with the real life piece and i think it worked great. Got his point across. I never realized while playing Uncharted that i was a white guy shooting everything but white people. I thought i was a suntanned guy shooting other suntanned guys. But maybe that's just me. |

I lead a very hollow and uninteresting life. Thus any laughter that may occur in my otherwise futile existence should be considered side-splitting in comparison. Or, you could just lighten the fuck up, realise that some people are easily entertained, whilst others are harder to please, and let people have their opinions. |

In answer to your question, yes, this game was meant to be a console seller. Though even I would say it's not worth buying the console for and I played this game to death. In terms of your arguement about having a console just to play a few killer apps, well, that can easily be said for PC given how few major releases come each year, but I do respect your choice of platform.
=============================
Zippy I agree that more crap games are put out on consoles, but if more people played on PC's they'd probably end up there more often. It's all about getting your product out to the most people, in most cases at least. And consoles do have their fair share of complex titles like MGS. No matter what platform you play on though not every game can be a Deus Ex or a Metal Gear, you may be able to argue though that since less games are coming out on PC now that PC games have a higer proportion of good games to crummy games.
