Yeah, but I think the series have been milked a bit too much. |

No he isn't scraping the bottom of the barrel. If you were a longtime fan or even slightly perceptive you'd know that yahtzee loves adventure games. He has made a ton of them and has a great love for monkey island, he even designed a game to try make one as good |

Of course before doing that you had to get past a rather annoying fat man with a tommy gun... something like that. And yay for a review that wasn't a shooter or about random guy with muscles! |

I take offense to that. I wouldn't consider Zack & Wiki, "Bottom of the Barrel" |

The point system angered me because I felt like I was being punished for experimentation. And, while thankfully it does use the same objects to solve different puzzles throughout the game, I found it infuriating that every time I wanted to use the grabber, or to smack something, or to saw through something, it had to show me the tutorial animation. I get it. The sawing motion requires me to move the wiimote forward and backward like a saw. Now lay off!. Reminded me of Twilight Princess going ape-shit every time I picked up a Rupee worth >1 for the first time in a given area, or opened a chest. Which reminds me. What's the point of having the evil spirits guard the Zak & Wiki treasure chests if the same process is applied to remove them, every single time? |

Zack and wiki is definitly not obscure. This game was considered 2007's "No one buys it despite all reviewers screaming on the soapbox to go get it". Kinda like Okami and psychonauts. Great review, and I'll pick this one up once my internship is over and I get some decent pay. |

Not that working for them was ever anything besides entertaining, if you have a macabre sense of humor. Certainly working at EA was much worse than S.O.L. ever was. Now excuse me, I have to forward a link to this to a dozen people. |

Anonymous Source Posts: 6 Joined: 31 Dec 2004 | I never played this game, intended to play it or indeed even heard of it before this. I guess it should be said that I'm of the PC-gaming master race persuasion and so titles out there for people stuck somewhere between childhood and puberty; you know, console users, has little interest to me. Having said that, the review was sorta fun, but is it just me or do they keep getting shorter? Some of the earlier ones were almost 5 minutes, then they dropped to 4 minutes and by now we're down to 3:40 something with the occational useless addition glued on at the end to trick people into believing they will get the dogs bollocks. All in all a sub-standard review that ends this wednesday in disappointment. |

Paperboy Posts: 31 Joined: 12 Dec 2007 | Why wont they bring back Monkey Island 1 and 2??? I used to have Goblins Quest 3 which I really enjoyed but I don't know where the discs have gone. After some searching on wikipedia I found that the rights are now owned by Vivendi. I contacted Vivendi and asked them to send me the game assets. I argued that the EULA said they I do not own the game merely the rights to use it which they never put a time limit on. Ergo, I argued that they owe me a copy of the game. Unsurprisingly they said that they did not support it anymore and couldn't help me. |

Anonymous Source Posts: 10 Joined: 7 Nov 2007 | And Biek, I'm glad you're happy to admit that you don't know what the definition of 'gimmick' is. And before you copy and paste the definition from your computer dictionary, please keep in mind that you just said that the entire Wii console is a gimmick... which is stupid. Anyway, back to the review, I've grown a liking to some adventure games since I've started playing Phoenix Wright, but Zack and Wiki is so different that I'm not sure if I might enjoy it... and I'm not talking about content and whatnot, I'm referring to storylines and characters. Z&W seems to be more puzzle-based with not so much story, apparently, and that's a turn-off for me... I guess I'll just have to rent this one. |

I have no idea why I was chuckling as much as I was, must have just needed cheering up. Oh and giving Roberta Williams games their due time in the burner is long overdue. |

In this case though it's a bit different. Sequels tend to be shittier than the previous version but their focus had been anyways on unraveling mysteries by using logic ( if you can forgive the 2 or 3 logic holes that happened in each version making you test every damn evidence on every damn testimony part until you hit the right spot ). Somehow I liked that the system didn't change dramatically. After all they tried new things in the latest title ( number 4 if I'm not mistaken ) which uses especially the pen for more than just a better selection tool. And one thing is though for sure: they love doing epic cases keeping you busy for some time if you don't rush through. Definitely a series I'm looking forward to the next installment. So far they did not fail their customers. |

Anonymous Source Posts: 2 Joined: 26 Mar 2008 | Man, I rented this game when I heard all the praise about it, and I was really disapointed. For those who don't know, the "random things killing you" was a serious point in Bens' review. You simply investigate something completely inconspicous and the damned thing kills you for practically no reason. I couldn't finish the game because at about the third area I was so sick of having to deal with random stupid deaths that I just got bored. I've actually been really wanting Ben to review this one, as I love adventure games and this one just stomped all over that love with golf cleats. Seriously, I like being able to figure out the answers myself, not having to look up that I was supposed to take the friggin' umbrella before opening the chest. That's just dumb. I swear, if they had just taken out the random deaths, then I would really reccommend this game. |

I think it's sad that the Wii's one saving title is one you play with a gamecube controller and utilize zero of the Wii Functions -- namely Brawl. I liked the GCN -- it had some good titles like Pikmin and such. But the if Nintendo follows the Wii up with something similar, the Nintendo fan boy in me will finally die, lying as he is in a sorry state in the hospital ward of my mind. |

How can you say that the only reason to have a wii is Brawl. Haw about MP3: Corruption, No More Heroes, Super Mario Galaxy, Zack & Wiki, among others. I don't even like SSB Brawl (never been a fan of the series) that's why to me it is kind of annoying when people give credit to the wii BECAUSE of SSB Brawl ONLY, when other games (like the ones I mentioned) use the wii hardware in a more convincing way. |
