There was that one review where he vehemently exclaimed that he's not gay at the end, though that may be denial. :B |
Paperboy Posts: 12 Joined: 30 Apr 2008 | I think he was making it more of a joke, or just trying to hide it. |
Paperboy Posts: 28 Joined: 30 Apr 2008 | thats weird, all other the other reviewers say this is the first 'REAL' game to come out on PSP. |

Copy Clerk Posts: 60 Joined: 1 May 2008 | I had a friend get me hooked on these with Call of Duty 4 and I've been hooked since. He has a unique way of expressing his opinion and making me laugh at the same time. This was just another in a long line of laughs that have lasted for weeks. Sometimes I agree with him and sometimes I don't, but that never stops the fun of watching the videos. :)
According to Webster's, it is pronounced res-pit. |

Only if she starts booking trips to Australia. If you're in Australia, I'd start worrying now.
She's right, you know! I play my own games, though. Loved the review, and the tagline about Spartans totally broke me up. - wench |

Paperboy Posts: 23 Joined: 15 Nov 2007 | So far, I have absolutely loved the God of War series. I liked the review, but I thought that a character as over-the-top and "I-am-so-serious" as Kratos could have had more jokes written about him. |

I can tell from that joke alone that Yahtzee has not had a girlfriend since the Sydney Olympics. Still, a man can dream. |

I have always heard it pronounced as the dictionary says, "rěs'pĭt" (that is, res-pit). |
Paperboy Posts: 14 Joined: 24 Oct 2007 | I got through GoW 1 though the combat was actually starting to bore me near the end and Hades irked a A LOT. I got a bit through GoW 2 but when I hit the temple and and got deja vu, I packed it in. Nice review except... "I'm always the first to cry foul when developers wipe their dicks all over a perfectly good series just for innovation sake" Yahtzee, if you're a proponent of "don't fix what isn't broken" then I'm Princess Peach of the Mushroom Kindom! >< |

Kratos has become less of a character, and more of a force. Rather like Sweeney Todd. There is nothing there but the will to kill. You really can't mock that. Edit: scratch that, It appears they have made it so it is in the period of deep regret, before he is destroyed emotionally by Ares and the battle in space. I so want this game right now. It will probably either be amongst the final Ps2 games, or a specialpart of God Of War III. I'd prefer the former. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 4883 Joined: 30 Jan 2008 | Thank you Yahtzee, you've given me what I was pondering for some time - What God Of War III needs - more than one way to kill a guy in Quick-time. One you can lop off their heads, another you can rip out their spine and impale them with it, etc. It'd add spice to the otherwise delicous soup this series has become. |

There are two correct ways to pronounce respite, I personally use both depending on the way it's being used. |

A little of column A, a little of column B. And just in case your ego needed a little more masturbation - an rollicking good time was had by all in the watching this review. You, sir, are swell. Very weird use of the word anomalous though. I was expecting monotonous. However, I trust your judgement. |
Paperboy Posts: 30 Joined: 24 Oct 2007 | GoW is awesome, the Ps2 editions of the series at least. great way to vent some angst with some bloody spartan violence. much like the 300 film. and by the way yahtzee, Spartan warriors didnt fight in their underpants. they fought nude. |

Paperboy Posts: 13 Joined: 31 Mar 2008 | ah, the fuck you button, only marginally better than the win button (the finesse button that made every shot hit the back of the net, it was in one of the fifa games, i forget which one cos they're all shit) |

Yep, we're all a fanboy of something... or fangirl. If it weren't for stubbornness we could all get along, but then what would the trolls eat? |
Anonymous Source Posts: 7 Joined: 5 Mar 2008 | So in the end. This game is good, but nothing new. ^ I only played god of war 1, untill the disk broke. And i've been playing my PSP alot more so I think i'll get this game. |

hahaha, mine too. that part made me laugh out loud pretty hard. |
Anonymous Source Posts: 9 Joined: 31 Oct 2007 | The thing I like about Yahtzee's reviews is the fact that he doesn't feel obligated to give a game a great rating just because it's a major title from a major series from a major company. This is the pit that most video game reviewers have fallen into and it's completely absurd. It has come to the point where I, at least, feel like I'm not reading reviews but just more hype and glorification of already over-hyped productions. If a game is average Yahtzee is going to bloody call it average no matter the hype or popularity of the series. (E.g. Halo 3) That said, fanboyism is fanboyism and I guess the general lesson is to value a title based on its actual merits, not how much you like the series or the developers. The same goes for Yahtzee fanboyism. So, at the risk of being called a Yahtzee fanboy I'm going to say that overall Yahtzee's reviews are a much needed shake up of the developing standards and that I have no problems with his slightly negative reviews in this sea of gaming worship. |

Anonymous Source Posts: 5 Joined: 1 May 2008 | Funny. I've only just this week finally found time to crack open start playing the copy of God of War 2 I've had collecting dust on a shelf for over a year. I'm all hopped up and foamy on Kratos Killing Sprees. Every night this week I've come home from work, stolen the TV, and fired up the slaughter for a few hours cursing loudly when the Medusas kill me for the tenth time in a row because they turned me to stone while I was 1 centimeter in the fucking air. All the while my finance shakes her head at me, my swearing, and my bloody rampage, and says I don't know how you can play that crap; then she returns to reading Japanese fan fiction on her laptop while I shake my head at her and say I don't know how you can read that crap. The first thing I really noticed while playing GoW2 was how much more of a "Fuck You" the "Fuck You" button had become. I don't remember God of War 1 being like that. I remember having to do a lot more combo's to kill the hoards of Aries that wanted to get intimate with my entrails. Now I just run around ripping arms off ghouls and shoving them up their posterior. Great fun... but it gets rather odd quick. The masses of undead and monstrous baddies just stand around sipping tea until I've finished ripping the limbs of their coworker, sodomizing his skull, and urinating on what's left. Then it's like they say "oh, you're finished" then they all run at me... until I grab another one 2 seconds later. I can almost hear them sigh in disgust as they grab their tea and sit back down. Anyway, great review, made me laugh out loud yet again... and my fan fiction loving finance that won't play anything but Bejeweled but likes your reviews as well. Dammit. |
