Remember when we loved video games about how fun they are? Yah that was great, mindless sheep didn't kill sales with their mornfull bleating.

Remember when how a game was marketed to fans an torn apart by anti-fans (they exists) determined sales? Yah that was great too, designers would do the best they could not try to influence public opinion

Remeber when game reviewers reviwed games? Yah that was great, you know instead of spending week after week getting his popularity BY FUKING BASHING A GAME HE DIDN"T PLAY. Im sorry im not saying pro/con SSBB but seriously your getting famous for not doing reviews.... WTF? You or the internets who do I blame?

NOTE: caps lock DENOTES EMOTION!

Caps lock is cruise control for cool.

You're entitled to your opinion. But, you have to accept that everyone else is as well. You don't think playing single player for half a day to unlock content is bad. Yatzee does. Ok. You don't think including Japanese characters is bad. Yatzee does. Ok. To defend anything by saying your opinion is correct simply because it is your opinion is not acceptable. To defend the game by saying that playing for half a day isn't bad, and Japanese characters are fine is not acceptable. To say "I personally don't have a problem with these things," is.

So... there's no such thing as invalid criticisms of a game, but there is such a thing as an invalid criticism of a review?

RRemeber when game reviewers reviwed games?

Not really, no. I remember reading a review of a game I already owned and most of the review was just a word-for-word copy & paste from the fucking manual.

Reviews are just advertising. Nothing more.

Hey Yahtzee, I enjoy watching your reviews. But it puzzles me, where do you get your material?
Because after i get up from loss of breath and brain cells lol, this is what I say
(in quotations)"How the hell does he think this stuff up".

Remember when we loved video games about how fun they are? Yah that was great, mindless sheep didn't kill sales with their mornfull bleating.

Yes, because I haven't suffered a debilitating brain injury. I'm pretty sure this is in fact, still the case; I certainly haven't bought any games in the eager anticipation of hours of drudgery and boredom. I must confess my lack of awareness of the impact of zombie sheep on the games industry, but then I'm not from New Zealand.

mcnally86:
Remember when how a game was marketed to fans an torn apart by anti-fans (they exists) determined sales? Yah that was great too, designers would do the best they could not try to influence public opinion

What? Designers have always tried to influence public opinion, because they need to sell games to make money to eat and clothe themselves and put petrol in their cars. It's called marketing.

mcnally86:

I think his list of very specific complaints shows he palyed it, but you don't care because you're a troll. I realise that by replying I'm only feeding you and making you stronger, but I don't care because I'm bored and at the moment I sadly have nothing better to do.

Yahtzee is a necessary evil. I wish more game reviewers had the balls to point out that B.S. stinks. I swear when I saw everyone give GTA IV a perfect score I just rooolllled my eyes. Wish I could get on that gravy train, but since I'm not I didn't give it a perfect score.

*Rant alert*

Ugh. So, people can't enjoy what they enjoy? Subjective personal reviews have to meet your standard of what you like and enjoy?

No, GTA isn't 'perfect', Halo 3 isn't 'perfect', the Sims 2 isn't 'perfect', but this constant moaning about 'oh they gave x a perfect score and I hate x. Therefore, the reviews are wrong' drives me mad.

Maybe one day developers will perfect the perfect game, who's jewel encrusted CD/DVD/Disk of futuric hologram storage will break the old addage 'You can please everyone some of the time, you can please some people all of the time, but you can't please everyone all of the time' and then maybe people will stop bitching about subjective reviews and accusing people of taking bribes. But I doubt it.

*Rant over*

WHO THE FUCK CARES WHAT THIS DICK HAS TO SAY ABOUT A FIGHTING GAME

WHO THE FUCK CARES IF SSBB IS GOOD OR BAD

EITHER PLAY THE GAME OR DON'T, JUST STOP THE BITCHING

This would be hilariously ironic if I hadn't seen stuff like it thousands of times already.

Its called rounding, idiot. What do you want them to go 9.96738712873/10 just to make it clear that there are problems? If people only gace perfect scores to perfect games, it would remove that value completely.

Lol, no game is perfect, but apparently saying SSBB isn't gets your balls cut off and whats left of you put before the firing squad.

I personally don't care for the game, played it once, found it boring, but thats just my opinion due to my taste in games, but obviously having an opinion can get you killed.

It looks like some of the commenters are seriously considering taking this further then a simple comment from the looks of things, better not piss em off ;) lol Looking forward to today's one, and the comments to come with it.

To be honest, I think the only reason Yahzee bothered to give posters any attention concering SSBB is to delay the process a bit while he played GTA4 or something.

I think you're onto something there, you know. If you take off the hat, there's this sort of hollow where the top of his head should be, and in there's sitting this jelly-like organism, operating the rest of his body like an Eva unit!!

The World Ends With You hass almost been out a month but I still consider that new to be honest. Since when did I mention Final Fantasy? And I have no idea what Beat Mania is.

My point is, it's not "completely new." It's a mashup of games that have already been successful. Such games can be good, and can be fun, and can be inspired, but they aren't new.

Yes, and that is why I'm hooked on Zero Punctuation, because it reminds me of those ages past.

I think what Indigo is getting at, though, is far too many 10s are given out in the first place. A game shouldn't be required to be perfect to get a 10, but an FPS with a boring single player campaign (Halo 3) should be considered enough of a fault to knock it down at least a point.

But then, that's just my opinion. I don't get too pissed off about game reviews because everyone's entitled to their opinions.

You can't win with fanboys, Yahtzee. If you strike them down they will become more whiny than you can possibly imagine.
