Sonic Unleashed Unrelated to Recent Games

image

Sonic Unleashed's lead designer has described what sets the next Sonic title apart from the rest of the series.

Sonic Unleahed, one of the worst kept gaming secrets of 2008, will be released to critical audiences who have mostly felt disappointed with the quality of recent games in the series.

Lead Desinger Yoshihisa Hashimoto ensured Official Nintendo Magazine that Unleashed "has no relation" to recent Sonic titles.

"As a development team, we originally started off this project planning to create Sonic Adventure 3," Hashimoto. "In our minds, this game will have more in common with the older Sonic Adventure series. It has no relation to Sonic the Hedgehog [on PS3/Xbox 360] or Sonic and the Secret Rings."

Hashimoto described the variances between normal Sonic and his werewolf form. This new evolution will be "a slightly slower and yet more agile beast. Where Sonic dodges past obstacles, Were-Sonic manhandles them out of the way and can toss enemies around like nobody's business."

Sega better get this right. I've been a Sonic fan since his first game and have been excited about every release, no matter about the poor quality of the final product. The last Sonic for 360 was utter rubbish however and means I'm approaching Unleashed with more caution. As good as it looks from the trailer with the 2D/3D play style, they go an ruin it by adding 'Were-Sonic' game play. I just really want this game to be ace.

I like how he replied to Official Nintendo Magazine. :O Maybe it'll be on Wii?

It's on pretty much everything. I just can't work out if the screenshots shown so far are for the Wii or 360 / PS3
