Same here.I like Diablo 2 but I played it way after it's era so the graphics and the amount of new games I have are way too much of a turn-off for me to get anywhere further than Act One,Chapter Five. |

Lead Web Developer Posts: 1528 Joined: 5 Aug 2003 | From the demo it's the 3D. Similar to Neverwinter Nights 2 |

I'm confused though...I thought the series ended with the glowing guy blowing up that magic rock and destroying...wait, lemme wiki this. |

Press Junketeer Posts: 365 Joined: 21 May 2008 | Looks like blizzard got there foot out of there ass and finally decides to go on. I'm not gonna go high expectation right now because alot of games have been ruined that way. |
Muckraker Posts: 311 Joined: 27 Mar 2008 | as long as the game is as good as Diablo 2 and maintains its feel i will love it but it will be overhyped i am guessing |

I hope it doesn't make it to consoles. |
Paperboy Posts: 47 Joined: 13 Jun 2008 | I played Diablo 2 for quite a well, I'll agree with the above poster, hopefully they can do more to stop the cheating, I got rather tired of every chat channel being spammed up with item selling bots, doubt it though. Still, it should be a fairly fun hack and slash game |

Not necessarily, in fact if you go back to the city after ending the game, one of the NPCs will actually tell you something along the lines of "maybe we will never have to fight again, maybe we're just starting" (aka, "we'll make a sequel if we feel like it"). The reasons are explained, although I don't really recall them. The major issue I see is that Diablo, Baal, and Mephisto are supposed to be dead for good. This will either mean that the bad guys will be Belial and Azmodan, which are the two remaining lesser evils (the others were Andariel and Duriel)or they will need to come up with some silly excuse (I'm betting on this one). And yes, I actually paid attention to the plot of the previous two games :P |

Copy Clerk Posts: 69 Joined: 23 Jun 2008 | Hawt. And, well, thank God it's still 2D. Sure, 3D graphics, but it's still 2D gameplay. |

I thought when the stones were destroyed it only prevented the 3 of them from staying in that world, so when the stones were destroyed they all went back to their dimension? |
Press Junketeer Posts: 436 Joined: 9 Oct 2007 | Fuck yeah, Diablo 3. I played the shit out of Diablo 2 online, so I'm really pumped for this game. |

And alarmingly addictive repetition of empty actions. Hack Hack Heal Hack Hack Heal. 10 hours later. Hack Hack Heal Hack Hack Heal. Next morning. Hack Hack Heal Hack Hack Heal. OK *yawn* get a life people. |

"Diablo III will pick up the story twenty years after the events of Diablo II. Mephisto, Diablo, and Baal have been defeated, but the Worldstone, which once shielded the inhabitants of the world of Sanctuary from the forces of both the High Heavens and the Burning Hells, has been destroyed, and evil once again stirs in Tristram." I hope that answers that question. |

With the increasing power of the consoles, it might seem pretty dumb to not put them on them. Just make it clear that the Keyboard and Mouse need to be used to play (like to the level of Guitar Hero peripherals) and there shouldn't really be any problem. |

Blizzard Announces Diablo 3
(This was posted live as the demo was going on.)
During the announcement of Diablo 3, Blizzard gave a brief demo. Unfortunately, it's not available for play.
The Lead Designer of Diablo 3 is giving the first public demo of the game. He begins by introducing the barbarian class and showcasing where Diablo 3 retains the stylistic feel of the first two in the series but expands upon them. There is now a hotbar where the potions used to be and you can switch skills with both tab and the mouse wheel.
The world is destructible and you can use it to your advantage. In the demo, he used a wall to destroy a zombie horde.
A new class, the witch doctor, is introduced. He primarily relies on pets to do his dirty work, the first of which is the Mongrel.
Some of our old friends make appearances as well. Deckard Cain is alive and well and even helps you with part of a dungeon.
Full armor sets have been customized for each class.
Diablo 3 is aimed to be a highly cooperative game.
For an early demo, this looks like something to keep an eye on.
