Server works, I tested it with one of the Escapist programmers.
However, I kinda think we should make the password a bit simpler. It was really hard for me to fully wrap my head around, and someone wanting to get in hard enough can always find the password in the PUBLIC steam group.

I'll see if we can't try and tone the password down a bit.

Password is now simpler. We'll post it to the community momentarily.

The idea is to just keep the broadcasted server from being taken over by pubbies and not leaving any room for us. If they want to come and join the community and get the password, good!

In case you can't tell, I've got my Orange Box.

So, how do you make events with the community thing?

I was thinking of setting up a boot camp training match for people looking for tips on how to play the game better, but I have no idea how.

Only admins can do it. I wonder if they're going to, at some point, let admins extend some powers.
For the moment is it ok if we PM the group admins with event times?

I'd very much like to participate in games with others here, my clan is really never online.

Anarchemitis (How original, no?)
I have yet to actually use Steam for Multiplayer purposes.
It's just so you know.

I second getting the Escapist group running again.

I don't want to let my SteamID out on the great, wide intrawebs. (It's also slightly embarrasing.)

Though I'll probably not be able to play against anyone if the server is located anywhere except Australia or New Zealand Otherwise I'll be facing a 999 ping :P

ugh, god i wish Steam worked for me right now... just moved onto a University campus (grad school) and they have the most effed up firewall that blocks any server connections, completely severing my connection to the multiplayer realm of any game. Makes me very angry, plus steam won't even connect.... about the only thing I can do is direct download files and use email. I rly need to figure out SSH tunnel or proxy server to get around that crap that actually works faster than 4 k/s. I even have Orange Box, but lo and behold, I didn't realize I couldn't install it, even with the disks, without downloading a crap load of files off Steam, which I can't do, so I'm stuck with a game I can't install.

Back from the dead, I see?

Anyway, I joined the group, but for good measure:

I'm Melaisis. I mainly play TF2, CS and Defcon.

Maybe the server was down but I could only add like every fifth person from here on friends last night. Either way, I find e-mail to be a better way to add people so I'll give you my e-mail address (it's a throwaway from many many years ago so I don't really care if the public has it).

EDIT: ok, never mind anyways, I haven't read that so thanks for the point though, RedPill357.

No. He made a big point that he doesn't like people asking to be his Steam friend.
