Paperboy Posts: 18 Joined: 22 Nov 2007 | I love the harpoon gun from Crackdown. Give them a good kick and shoot. You can peg them anywhere! And then you can shoot the body in a different place so the body ragdolls differently all the way down a wall. Nifty. And who can forget the Hadoken? That's a fraking fireball doom weapon! |

Paperboy Posts: 12 Joined: 29 Nov 2007 | I'm a fan of any sniper rifle, the landshark gun from Armed & Dangerous, the fuel air bomb from Mercenaries, and the goop gun from UT but... My favorite weapon to use, hands down, is the sticky grenade in Halo 2. |
Reviewer Posts: 189 Joined: 4 Oct 2007 | I've been having fun with the syringe gun in TF2 lately. Arcing fire over obstacles or ledges to take out guys is amusing. Although I still think "The World's Most Interesting Bomb" from MDK takes the win. |

Paperboy Posts: 13 Joined: 4 Dec 2007 | For me, it has to be either the Smartgun from the AvP series, or the Lancer from Gears of War. I mean, the Smartgun is just so ludicrously awesome in its concept. And on top of that it makes that perfect sound, that singular gunshot noise that all games should aspire to have. The noise it makes just grinding through hordes of drones was just so...satisfying. On the other hand you have the Lancer. The Lancer's not only a great ranged weapon, but theres just something so deliciously novel about charging out of cover in a screaming bayonet rush of Chainsaws. I mean for fuck's sake. Chainsaw bayonets. And then theres the blood spatter from that thing, holy shit. |

Anyone who's ever played knows that making low-poly terrorists burst into flames is always fun. And Gears of War's chainsaw needed a mention. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 2099 Joined: 14 Sep 2007 | The Ratchet and Clank series has always kept me entertained with a weapon that turns even the biggest adversary into a farmyard animal. One example is the Quack-O-Ray from the third game. While at first turning your opponent into a duckie, it upgrades to make the ducks lay explosive eggs, then making the ducks themselves explode, then making the ducks home-in, then making the first enemy you turn the ray on into a demon duck that follows you and attacks your enemies for you. |

Anonymous Source Posts: 4 Joined: 5 Dec 2007 | while not technically a weapon, more of a special move. i would have to say that babalities from MK:Trilogy take the cake. Turning your opponent into a baby to defeat them? awesome. also |

Muckraker Posts: 249 Joined: 28 Oct 2007 | Lord_Sammael - Winner! Lightsabre clearly the most fun weapon to use in any game. Modern/real weapon M4... Still not quite over my CS addiction. Bladed weapons.... Well the old Gladius is a very cool sword. Favourite BIG weapon - Tactical Nuke from World in Conflict Favourite 'crazy' weapon too many to list. |

It fires giant balls of rolling metal death that will explode on contact with any enemies that are too big for it to just crush instantly (Which makes it the SS equivalent of the Instagib rifle in UT2004 when it comes to PvP). |

Yeah, any BFG. Even Quake III's. Just because it's the BFG. The chainsaw as well. |
Anonymous Source Posts: 5 Joined: 5 Dec 2007 | I spent hours on Star Wars Jedi Knight Killing people with the forces like Grip and Lightning, i used to love picking up the troopers and hurling them across the room or throwing them of cliff. This was before HL2's Gravity gun :) that was so awesome, i don't think i used another gun after i got that. |
Anonymous Source Posts: 6 Joined: 28 Nov 2007 | Let's see here: (Note: they're not in order, I just love them all) a) Hidden Blade, Assassin's Creed: Put your hand on an enemy and "tsunk" he's deaaad. b) 50. Caliber Sniping Rifle, Way too many games: You shoot on the head, you shoot on the leg, you shoot at a tank, you shoot at whatever you want, it dies. c) Gravity Gun, HL: The enemmies are Half-Dead when you get this thing on your hands. d) C4, BattleField 2: Throw 'em on a car, then ALLAAAAAAAAAAHH!!!!.......BUM! e) Katana (Samurai Sword), Many games: The glorious, beautiful blade, hack, slash, stab! I could get this list on and on, but I'll stop here. |
Paperboy Posts: 11 Joined: 5 Dec 2007 | ~~Dante's fire gauntlets from the original Devil May Cry. Hand to hand has never felt more powerful to me in any game. Power 'em up, and you can literally explode your enemies with a single punch. ~~And there are few things in life as satisfying as a well-timed melee to the face in Halo 3. |
Muckraker Posts: 268 Joined: 11 Oct 2007 | *So* many to choose from! In no particular order: - Grapple Gun (Quake CTF). Completely changed the geography of the maps. Worked quick and smooth and made for very interresting play. - Trip Mines (Duke Nukem, multiplayer). Endless fun booby-trapping the powerup/health pickup points. - The greatsword (Dungeons And Dragons Online). The first time you swing that into a pack of enemies after having dabbled with daggers and longswords is a big bunch of "Ooooh!" - Gravity Gun (Half-Life 2). Comments superfluous. - Oil Slick (Spy Hunter). And there he goooooeeeessss! *CRASH* - P90 (Counter Strike). Nothing says "Get out of my friggin' way!" quite like putting a bullpup SMG in belly-height and letting a full 50-bullet clip rip right through a pack of enemies. - JDAM-154 (Jane's F/A-18 Simulator). "Smart pigs". GPS-guided winged bombs. Come dashing in at tree-top level, pull up hard until you are in optimal toss angle, release and dart to the side. Bomb does a pretty parable and finishes the job for ya without you having to expose yourself. - Fireball (Baldur's Gate Series). The ultimate room-cleanout. Caution: do not use in close quarter battle. - .45 Pistol (Delta Force). Most fun moment ever: came up behind someone sniping with a Light 50 (Barret M82), completely oblivious to the fact I was standing at his feet. I pulled out the .45, triggered an audio emote saying "Hey, behind you!". Just after the thought "Oh shite, I'm getting screwed" flew through his mind, I let three bullets do the same.. then walked away with the most smug grin ever seen. - Lynx (Buggy equipped with rocket launcher in UT2004). Perfectly balanced and easy to manouver despite having to control both vehicle and where you are looking. Could easilly have been cocked up and made an user-unfriendly nightmare... but instead they are just about right. - Satchel charges (Operation Flashpoint). Totally unapprechiated... until I discovered that they can be set on a timer. Problem: covert-ops trying to take out three targets that are spread out + limited range on the radio detonator. If I take out one or two, the remaining one(s) get alerted and all hell breaks loose. Solution: I snuck in under each of the targets and set the timers so that they would all be blown up simultaneously. Snuck out and put myself on a hillside near my extraction point almost a kilometer away and quietly waited for the fireworks. Timers reached zero on the same second and BOOM! *sigh* It was beautiful. - Spy (Civilization II). That klaxon reving up... followed by the marvelous, earth-shattering KABOOM... a *beautiful* mushroom cloud animation. Doesn't get much better. |

Yes, LOVE Turok Rage Wars, and even though the Chest Burster was one-hit kill, it was pretty much a hit-or miss weapon. The recharge was pretty slow and if you miss, you probably weren't getting another chance. It was a challenging weapon to master, but it was definitely awesome. Also, the Inflator from Turok: Rage Wars is probably the most hilarious weapon ever created. I love it. |

Definite approval for the aforementioned Wabbajack and Sheepinator. I'd say the hidden blade from AC, with the Gravity Gun from HL2 and Lava Whip from R&C2 close behind.
