Senor Pantz, I think its only 15 years ago...we can feel a little younger at least : ) Kaisharga, I agree co-op is the best. Anyone remember the old arcade versions of X-Men and TMNT? I really miss the good ol' days of side-scrolling beat 'em up games...I already mentioned Streets of Rage, what about Final Fight 2, River City Ransom for NES, Golden Axe...Contra anyone? |

There's a lot of excellent ones done by Psikyo that are worth checking out if you're even tangentially into the genre; I especially enjoy ESP Ra-De. Not because it's particularly challenging or has a great story, but because it's pretty. |

Muckraker  Posts: 284 Joined: 12 Dec 2007  | Road Rash 3, hah! Used to play that a lot with my uncle. There was Phantasy Star Online, in offline multiplayer mode with a friend. Was a short experience but I rather enjoyed it. But, believe it or not, my true multiplayer experience was with Sonic 2 and Sonic 3 where I played it over and over again with my father, him as Sonic and me as Tails. And no game ever had such level of co-op since then (Kidding, of course...will be when Army of Two comes, that is). |

The only thing we could not do was beat our mom's high score on Tetris, how does one get lucky enough to get two "four row clear"s in a row... |

Super Smash Bros on gamecube was great. We used to beat the daylights out of each other, gang up on each other and try to beat that one friend who was so good he could take three of us out solo without breaking a sweat...
Mario Kart was a lot of fun but not quite as engrossing as Super Smash Bros.
VS mode in Goldeneye was probably the most fun for console multiplayer I've ever experienced especially when mines started piling up and you were afraid to take a step.
One thing I never did enough of with my friends was dogfighting/trick flying in Battlefield 1942. The flying in that game was a lot of fun and we used to try to fly between the decks on the Japanese carrier, fly under bridges/loop through them, and even try to bomb another plane in midair.
