Copy Clerk Posts: 98 Joined: 16 Dec 2007 | http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yMZII-Awssg = crowning achievement. My powergamed, 100% legit characters were so overpowered the monster the devs put in to curbstomp powergamers was killed casually. Also, way back when I played EQ, I was a bard. I pulled things. There is no feeling like that of a successful singly pulled named mob (actually, the guy just needed to be killed to finish the instance) to the zone in before the rest of your party even zones in. Did that a few times, but the crowning achievement was in an LDoN (as they're random spawns and you're only given a hint as to where they are once you kill a big chunk of the zone's population, AND it was on hard mode.) Or the time I crashed a zone by getting every mob in it (it was a newbie zone, mostly levels 3 to 5, a few up to maybe 10) and using a PBAoE to kill everything in the zone in the same tick. Bwaha. [no lowbies were harmed in the making of this splosion.] Or the time I organized a mini-raid on a nasty critter <Chailik>. Big huge meany, lots of brutal AEs, about 15 of us. A mob spawned on our clerics and ate one up, then I mezzed that. Then another mob spawned, and another, and another, and it came down to "TSED vs 3 flameseekers and Chailik". Every one was whining about how we got 'so close' while I was busy popping all my AAs and discs and stuff. Time literally slowed down around me, I would retarget the riftseekers and begin remezzing them (bard songs you can move and melee while singing them, and even change targets, but they all take 3 seconds to cast) in between 1/5th second swings. I was tanking Chailik because his melee DPS goes down the less people on his agro list, and I was all that was left. My DPS disc wears off, so I stop mezzing the riftseekers, wait for a mezz to wear off, pop my 12 second 'dodge everything' disc. Chailik's down to 0% health now. I'm at about 30% and 2 seconds left on my disc... come on, come on, BLAM CHAILIK IS DEAD! Got solo XP for him and everything! There's still three big scary mobs that hit for about 1/4th of my life or more on a good round, though. I hit fade (bard ability; drops all agro), make three steps before one is see invis and notices me, I'm beelining down the stairs, one at the bottom is see invis too, oh god oh god oh god, turn around the corner, fade again, YES I AM ALIVE. 10% health now, and Chailik's poison is going to splat me right away. Load up cure poison, save myself right as I fall unconscious. You tell the raid, "CHAILIK DOWN!" |

I'm about to make a dash across one of the walkways, prefering to take the risk as opposed to the lift (which is ample camping grounds), I'm carrying two charged maulers (worth it once you get quick-weapon switching mastered). Almost making it across, my opponent pops into the doorway and pops a grenade in my direction. |

Paperboy Posts: 15 Joined: 23 Nov 2007 | Two moments from FEAR spring to mind first. Firstly, having a firefight with a guy across a second level of a room with railings all around, ducking and dodging behind pillars only to run straight in to him, shotgunning the guy full in the chest ripping him in two, and having his torso, still firing bullets, wildly spinning down to the level below and smacking the floor with a wet thud, also it was just great to see the guys legs sprawled on one level and his torso lying in line with it on the floor some meters below. Secondly, on the rooftop insertion bit, leaping over a banister down to the door in to the building, three enemies down there, one directly underneath, one to the side and one straight behind, I bullet timed, shotgunned the guy beneath me, then the side and span round and got the other before the first guys body had hit the floor, then time returned to normal and all the body thuds and bullet casing clattering all happened at once. Twas quite enjoyable I'd say... |

She refuses to play against me any more :D Also, the first time I beat Half-Life. When I was playing the game my computer would continually fail when I was 90% finished. As soon as i got to Xan (xen?) my computer would uber-crash, and the hard drive would need to be formatted. I played through the game four times before finally beating the crazy baby thing at the end. Also, getting to the end of serious sam feels pretty epic too. Especially the final arena before the last boss. Here's a million bulls, skeletons, mechs and bombheads. Kill them all! :D |
Paperboy Posts: 19 Joined: 1 Feb 2008 | Nerdfury, that is beyond awesome. Though i never could master the harrier controls right. But yes, epicness, CoD4. More recently on my friends profile, insead of using an assault rifle or anything suitably damaging ive been getting 2:1 kill ratios (no martyrdom) with an acog klobb from Goldeneye, I mean Skorpion but whatever, all hail the classics! Something about the joy of sniping people with the equivelent of an airsoft gun, especially ppl with m16s, makes me smile. Much of this happens at District, Bloc and occassionally Vacant (Downpour and Overgrown go to hell n die!) But, yes, shitty popgun ftw! |

I blind fired and killed their entire team. No one on the other team would talk to me thye rest of the night. -In Shivering Isles, I took on 31 Knights of Order at once by myself, with no summons. Yes, I'm sure. I counted the corpses. The difficulty slider was about 75% up. -Getting 5 stars on Expert for the first time in Guitar Hero. -Using the Scout's shotgun to kill half of the enemy team. It was on Hydro, and I waited in the vents until they all passed and them I hopped down and started shooting. I got 2 Pyros, a Heavy, an Engineer, 3 Soldiers, and a Demoman. I was nearly dead, but I managed to get away, pick up a health pickup and run back to beat their Medic to death before dying. I had to switch classes after that because all the ones I killed went Scout or Spy to kill me. That led to a 7 Sentry kill streak and 4 dead Spies littering the ground around my Dispenser. We won right after that. I was dominating half of their team. It was brilliant. |

Haven't gotten GH3 yet, but I can beat One and Number of the Beast on Expert. On-topic, getting ranking #347 (at the time, which was around Thanksgiving) on the GH2 leaderboards for Mother. |

If anyone out there is bummed about this not making it to XB live arcade, don't be there is no reason to play this game today. I had taken dominating lead over my 3 friends in a death match at the facility with the grenade launcher weapon set, to the point where they decided to all team up on me. The three caught me in a hallway and gunned me down. I re-spawned at the back of the level far away from all of them, so they all took the opportunity to load up on weapons and armor and then hunkered themselves down in the bathroom to wait for me. Since they were all hiding I loaded myself up with ammo for the magnum. I then waltzed up to the bathroom door opened and closed the door quickly while backing away to avoid the grenade blast damage, since they shot as soon as the door opened, then quickly with ran forward again and opened the door while shooting through it with the magnum, which killed the one standing in front of the door, running in with explosions in two areas of the bathroom I took a little bit of damage from each side while running around in the smoke shooting in all the stalls I killed another. With the other two dead the last one ran out of the bath room in hope to pick up some body armor but I chased him down the stairs and fired down to the end of the hallway killing him just as he was turning the corner. It was loads of fun, but as you can imagine they were all rather pissed and continued to gang up on me for the rest of the day. |

Paperboy Posts: 37 Joined: 13 Feb 2008 | I beat the entire half life 1 anthology (Half life, Opposing Frce, Blue Shift) on hard using my mouse touch pad. I use that for massive street-cred, when I have to prove a point on a tough server. XD In my Team Fortress Fun-fests, my single greatest moment was on the map Mountain Coaster . Desperate to achieve the Grey Matter achievement, I played as a sniper in the hopes of getting the badge on my name. We were attacking, and were on the last leg of the map (trying to capture the last cap point before time ran out or Red team massacred us.) While my teammates engaged on an active front, I snuck up the side of the mountain to where the cap point was. Seeing a heavy perched with predatory verve blowing the crap out of teammates, I drew my machete and proceeded to hack away at him. He got wise pretty quick, and turned to face me. I wailed away, thinking I was going to die regardless, only to find I'd whacked him. Opening up my sniper rifle, I proceeded to pick off the entirety of the opposing team (with some assistance from a short-lived pyro and an ailing soldier soldier. Sidestepping critical rockets from opposing soldiers, I took out enough opponents to grant my teammates the capture of the second-last point. I wound up my sniper rifle again, and tried to off a few more Red guys, only find that I'd single-handedly made the winning capture and won the game for Blue. I was top of the server, dominated almost everyone, and inadvertently bought us a victory. Guaranteed sex that night, I can tell you ;) |

I pick him off, hear the words "FUCK!" in the next room (There were like 10 of us at the house that night). I then take out the driver. One shot one kill makes me a happy gamer. Second was coD4. This guy that had been owning everyone for about 5 matches on up finally got what was coming to him. I think I killed him about 9 times (might have been 7, don't want to exaggerate). His screams of frustration over Live were priceless. "Faggot got me again!" ...Now I feel like playing CoD. |

Beat Writer Posts: 176 Joined: 8 Jan 2008 | There were two instances of epic playing in CoD4 with both in Overgrown. First of all my kit was 1.MP5SD 2.1911 3.claymore 4.stopping power 5.dead silence playing as the Russians. The first to happen was when the enemy just started camping in the large two story building with the mounted machinegun. My braindead teamates figured that hitting the position from the front was the best plan. They provided the distraction as I silent sprinted around and behind their building. The first guy to see me was silenced by a MP5 burst, then I quickley knifed three snipers before they could react. Procceding out of the sniper room I was met with overwhelming forces from the halway and up the stairs. I bounced a frag off the wall that killed the men in the hallway, flashbanged the stairs, shot the man at the top while running up the stairs, turned shot another sniper and finally killed a guy on the turret. The second instance was defending this position from counter assault. Now backed up by teamats I moved to the window where me and a fellow sniper rained death upon those who tried to move up the road towards our position. The enemy flanked us attacked on both sides, easily defeating our few defenders. While I still had time and we still controlled one side of the building I claymored the opposite door and the top of the stairs. Laying down at the top of the stairs I watched as the previously mentioned sniper ran downstairs to help defend and was promptly cut down. The first two guys where ripped to shreds by my claymore, the third and fourth recieved headshots from my MP5. Aftertwo more kills I ran around the stairs so that I would be looking at the enemy's back. I downed another two with the Claymore and a burst from the MP5. Following that the enemy just ran strait up the stairs and were easily gunned down. Now with the enemy on to my tactics and me down to the 1911 I was stuggleing to survive. I was able to kill a few more with pistol/knife combo until my team swooped in and drove the rest of. Feeling I had done enough I just goofed of the rest of the match. |
